This has really been a longtime coming. I have accepted B&B for its campy nature, but I have to say it is much watchable of late. I got hooked on this show by watching reruns in Ghana when I was on vacation 10 yrs. ago and when I got back it was the yrs. w/Amber, Deacon, Rick, & Bridget. Jennifer Finnigan got me hooked to keep on tunning in (she is my Heather Tom/Victoria Newman). I don't think they will never be an actress like her who really impressed me as much as she did. The day she left was the day Bridget left. When they got that awful lookalike I stopped watching the show. Then it was announced that Ashley Jones would be assuming the role. Never seeing her before I thought she will obviously be a step up from that thing. Lets just say it has been a struggle to warm up to her as Bridget. She is a good actress (see her Lifetime movies and her stint on True Blood), but she is just not my Bridget and the only standout moments she has had thus far are when she lost her baby and Storm's suicide. But I can't blame just Ashley, the writing has been frantic for her. Dr. Bridget one minute then fashion designer? I would love for Jennifer to take back her role, but if that can't happen I would love to see beloved "where are they now" Port Charles Emmy nominated starlet Erin Hershey Presley would do in the role. I thought she would have her pickings of roles after PC ended, but sadly that hasn't been the case and I remember reading on SoapCentral archives that she was up for this role, but it never happened. I think she has the chops, looks, and charisma to play Brooke Logan's daughter and to make the role her own.

Discuss.

No way.

Erin Presley is an awful actress. She sounds so whiney and the way she used to say "Jamal" was so annoying. There's no need to recast Bridget since she's never on and when she is, it's all filler.

Jones is alright as a recast. No one can eclipse Finnigan, but Jones is suitable as Bridget.

No need to recast Bridget when she, Thorne, Felicia, Nick and Whip do nothing while terrible actors portraying Bill, Donna, Owen, Steffy, Jackie and Ridge run amok.

Keep Erin Presley far away from B&B.

The show has too many females to begin with, and with news of a psycho surrogate being cast, it would be wise to shelve that since the show doesn't need more women. Dino should be Nick's child and Nick and Budge should battle Felicia for custody of Dino.

I love your "Wishful Casting" posts, although I don't usually agree with them but they're fun, LoL. What's Jennifer Finnigan doing these days? I don't watch B&B anymore, but Ashley Jones is capable.

What luck for rulers that men do not think.

Ashley Jones has said here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIZTd109_ts that she would never be able to see someone other taking role of Bridget so I highly doubt this role will be recasted anytime soon.

I don't think the role needs to be recast. I think Ashley Jones is a great actress and when the time comes every two or three years when Brad Bell actually writes something for her, she has proven that she can more than hold her own on B&B.

At the risk of incurring 742's wrath, I say no to Erin Hershey Presley as Bridget should the role ever be recast. Nothing against her because I think she's a good actress, but I don't see that as a fit.

Jones is fine in the role. It's just the writing that needs to be more consistent.

Back in the Jennifer Finnigan days that was the right mixture of strong writing and acting talent.

sohappy yep happyegg!

And I will give you guys that Ashley is a good actress and the writing hasn't been great for the character, but as a fan she just not my Bridget.

And I can't believe that Brad had a chance at getting Erin to the show, but nothing never came to fruition.
She reads more to me as KKL daughter (they both have that stunning Cali blond thing going on), but that is just me.

I think the problem with Bridget during the most part of Ashley Jones' tenure is that she's been saddled with Nick all this time.

Oh I know. The character of Nick is one that has past its time.

And as for potential hookups for Bridget, get her w/either Donna's baby daddy, back in Owen's orbit (b/c Ashley and Brandon had off the chart chem), or bring someone new on so that she can interact w/b/c that pairing she's in now is gross and I think Jack Wagner should go back to GH.

I loved Jack Wagner and the character of Nick when he first joined the show. A real maverick character. But now that he's just a boring old businessman now he's become a bland character.

Bridget and Nick pretty much suck the life out of each other.

If they can't get Deacon back from Y&R then they should bring CJ back for Bridget. Now there was some lost potential.

Nick was great in the beginning, especially his devotion to Brooke and Hope. Deacon was a dastardly char too. But the Bell and MAB regimes have destroyed both chars. Although I do think CJ should return down the line, either as Mick Cain or as a recast, right now he's not needed. They either revive the rivalry with Rick, which would make more sense with a recast, pair him with Bridget or they bring CJ back to fight for Spectra since it's been bastardized by Jackie M.

But right now, too many chars are on the backburner, that there's no need for CJ.

Since they've thrown poor Owen with drab Steffy, they should either pair Budge with Casper or Whip!

At this point I'd much rather they recast Rick than Bridget.

And completely backburner Taylor's annoying brats while they're at it.

Write out Thomas and Steffy is more like it. He blows up cars and sets fire to beach houses, while she'll playfully kidnap Owen on the Shady Marlin.

And to think B&B had Jennifer Finnigan acting neck and neck with La Flannery.

Less is more B&B. No need for Thomas and Steffy now that Ridge dumped Tay.
