well i'll give you credit that Brandon Buddy is pretty bad, but he's also very young and needs time to grow. I'll bet in a few years he'll be much better---it took Kassie De Paiva, David Fumero and others time to become competant actors- and in De Pavia's case she's even grown into one of the best actresses in daytime.

I'll only do those who are currently (or was most recently, in 2008) employed by a soap. I only religiously watch Y&R, so the rest are based on the random times that I've tuned in to see the shows.
Best Actors: Eric Braeden Justin Deas Peter Bergman Kristoff St. John Michael E. Knight Joshua Morrow Ron Raines John McCook Greg Rikaart Jon Hensley Scott Bryce (he should still be on the show) Darnell Williams David Canary Michael Park Trent Dawson Jesse Lee Soffer
Best Actresses: Michelle Stafford Debbi Morgan Melody Thomas Scott Jess Walton Jeanne Cooper Susan Lucci Heather Tom Susan Flannery Bobbie Eakes Rebecca Budig Kim Zimmer Gina Tognoni Martha Byrne Alison Sweeney Martha Madison Maura West Sharon Case Jennifer Landon Eileen Davidson Lesli Kay Judith Chapman (yes, I said it!) Tracey E. Bregman Colleen Zenk Pinter Katherine Kelly Lang
Worst Actors: Don Diamont Drake Hogestyn Ronn Moss Kyle Lowder Vincent Irizzary Christian LeBlanc (used to like him, but now he overacts too much for my liking)
Worst Actresses: Adrienne Frantz Alicia Minshew Melissa Claire Egan Tammin Sursok Hunter Tylo Deidre Hall (sorry, but she's bored me whenever I've seen the show) Nicole Forrester

Ummm...I agree with most of the lists posted, but MTS is certainly not one of the worst. I can't believe no one has put Heather Tom on their best list. She was iconic as Victoria Newman, elevated the crappy character of Kelly on OLTL and is doing great work on B&B.
PRIMETIME EMMYS Congratulations to Sandra Oh, Chandra Wilson, Mary Louise Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kathryn Joosten and Michael C. Hall on their noms BOOOO to the snubs of... Elizabeth Perkins, Marcia Cross, David Scwhimmer, and Peter O'Toole
the actors on days, are not that bad. as for passions, the actors on that show ARE bad, but if given a chance on another soap, with different directors, a few acting classes, and better writers...could quire possibly see some change.

Oh COME ON, Jeanne Cooper, Melody Thomas Scott, Katherine Kelly Lang, Deidre Hall? I think people are taking their disdain for certain characters (for whatever reason) and making their decision. These days it's hard to say who are the best and worst, because of the crappy writing, miscast roles, and awful directing. I've seen good actors ham it up, and even the ones who aren't as good seem to surprise me when the material is there. BTW sorry that I'm attacking y'all opinions like that, but I seriously think some of y'all are straight up loco lol!
These are just a few names who appear on my best list.
Best Melody Thomas Scott Jess Walton Doug Davidson Elizabeth Hubbard Ellen Dolan Tracey Bregman Nancy Lee Grahn Lesli Kay Eileen Davidson Robin Strasser Hillary B. Smith Patricia Elliot Ilene Kristen Kathy Brier Debbi Morgan Catherine Hickland Kristoff St. John John McCook Robert S. Woods
I will add Jeanne Cooper to my WORST list. I read on another thread that some think she is sensational. Please. The woman talks so damn low and jumbled. She is robotic and wooden as an actress. I cannot stand her. NOW..she really nailed her own coffin for me. Placing herself in Lead Actress this year and then actually netting the nomination. BLECH!! Whatever!!

Good But Overated: Braden, LeBlanc, Zimmer, Sarah Brown, Maurice Bernard, Katherine Kelly Lang (she doesn't get emmy nominations, but there always seems to be an outcry that she doesn't)

Yet you believed that Slezak was more of a lead? I'm not trying to be confrontational, or even defend Cooper's nomination, but yes I was the one that said she was sensational. I still think she is, and although I wish Melody was there instead, I'm not going to begrudge Cooper. I do hope she wins this year, so maybe she would stop putting herself in the running LOL. BTW the lady isn't some spring chicken, so I don't expect her to be as ferocious as she was decades ago. Yet, I still think she's very effective, especially in her quieter moments. Hell speaking low seems to be a CBSD trend for quite some time, I've seen Stafford, Flannery, Eileen, amongst many others doing it as a means of "effectiveness."

But she is quite/jumbled in her talking all the time. I dont care for her as an actress at all and think she is HIGHLY overrated. Then again from the replies about her on here..not many care about her either. But its all cool. I think she is one of the WORST. As i said she is very robotic and wooden when it comes to emotion. As for Slezak..i never said she should get nominated. Didnt my thread say i didnt want her to be nominated? Yes after awhile i said she could pull it off..but thats because of her name and status with the academy. But all in all i did not want her on the ballot.

Revise the title: "My favorites" and "My least favorites" -- that's what you're effectively stating.
Deidre Hall is eternally classic, and Melody Thomas Scott is one for the ages. I don't give a rat's ass about any naysayers who fail to understand, let alone appreciate, what they've accomplished.
