Nelson, I agree with your take on Jack, but it would help if Carly took responsibility for her actions. It's the same pattern. Carly does something, gets caught, pleads for forgiveness, eventually gets forgiveness, and then it starts all over again. I was convinced that TPTB were trying to get rid of Maura West last year with the way Carly was destroyed. Let's see her get therapy and write a story from something brought up there. They need to give a reason to like Carly instead of pushing her towards Holden which makes me dislike her even more. Hasn't she already betrayed one friend by sleeping with her man?
I would also like to see the writers take the kids away from Carly and Jack. They are horrible, abusive parents. How many times have these kids been kidnapped, attacked, or put into violent situations? Instead of bringing on that irritiating teen girl, they should have given temporary custody of the kids to Katie and Brad.
I agree on the Paul and Nikki pairing. I think the two of them will have lots of fun - and it would definitely give the grossly under-used and immensely underrated Doug Davidson a chance to shine.
And agreeance on the lame Emmy-voting system. I'd go as far as saying that even if it was Meryl Streep playing Brooke - she'd still get snubbed!

Nelson, I'm avid reader of yours over at TV Guide Canada and the way the Emmy nominations went down this year is unbelievably unfair! Other than OLTL (in the best show/writing categories), it seems like a lot of actors were snubbed and some people made the cut that shouldn't have... (YR *ahem* Young Actresses)
I was wondering, can the public view the material that was submitted? Can we find it on YouTube or anything like that?

Thanks for the welcome Nelson! I'm a member at the official BB board but they can get a bit nutty over there sometimes, hahah. I'm interested to see how the people are here!
But yes, please keep us posted on what reels were submitted! (I'll actually take a day off and watch all the material and judge for myself who should've been nominated, lol)
And I totally agree with you, the press should have a voice in the nomination process. You guys are the only ones that watch these shows everyday and write about them! When will they get it right....

I hope that if they do recast Joey Buchanan that they find an actor capable of keeping up with the heavyweights in the cast... as much as i liked Bruce Michael Hall, he was not Nathan Fillion or Don Jeffcoat and just couldn't keep up.
Here are a few casting suggestions (and this could change depending on how old they make him this time):
Sean Kanan (Ex-Deacon, B&B, Ex-AJ, GH): am i the only one that thinks he would be fantastic on OLTL? i can imagine him playing Erika Slezak's daughter and Bree Williamson's brother. I also think that romantically he could have great chemistry with Kassie De Pavia's Blair, Catherine Hickland's Lindsay or Fara Fath's Gigi. Plus he is a great actor who has proven himself time and time again.
Shane McDermott (Ex-Scott Chandler, AMC)-- He is a good actor who a lot of appeal who i think could do a great job in this role.
Chad Branon (Ex-Zander, GH)-- i know that he like became a minister or something but i think he would be a very good Joey Buchanan.
Josh Duhmale (Ex-Leo, AMC)- his nightime series is a goner so if he decides to return to daytime this could be one place for him to go
Don Jeffcoat (Ex-Joey, OLTL)- why not just bring back Jeffcoat who imho was the second best Joey (after the incomparable Nathan Fillon)

Years ago, I heard through the grapevine that Michael Malone originally wanted to do the Billy Douglas story with Joey instead. Joey was going to come out and he was going to catch HIV but apparently ABC nixed it. And Rex was originally going to be gay as well, with C.J. as his past lover but that too got nixed.

Upset about anyone not making the cut?
Like most of us, I have many complaints, but the two people I'm pulling for most are Rachel Melvin and Van Hansis. I also would like to see either Crystal Chappell or Michelle Stafford win best actress, given the choices. I'm eager to see some of these submissions though, especially from the surprise noms.
I'll have a bigger tribute on Friday with the help of a few friends. Also, check out daytimeconfidential.com this week, Mimi Torchin and I will be sharing our thoughts.
other than EWM who else do you think could play Joey and what about kevin? do you think they'll bring back Dan Gauthier or just recast? Also, do you know anything about why they haven't attempted to get Renee Goldsberry back as Renee? this is one mistake that needs to be fixed, ASAP.

Dan is the Kevin I liked the best so I hope they bring him back. As for Renee Goldsberry, I agree they need to bring her back as Evangeline.
