(Compared to Last Week/Compared to Last Year)

Total Viewers
1. Y&R 5,280,000 (-177,000/-508,000)
2. B&B 3,367,000 (-206,000/-794,000)
3. DAYS 2,905,000 (-112,000/+6,000)
4. GH 2,687,000 (-114,000/-328,000)
5. AMC 2,634,000 (-95,000/+46,000)
6. OLTL 2,594,000 (+34,000/same)
7. ATWT 2,531,000 (-32,000/-803,000)
8. GL 2,077,000 (-98,000/-665,000)

HH
1. Y&R 3.8/13 (-.2/-.4)
2. B&B 2.5/8 (-.2/-.5)
3. DAYS 2.1/7 (same/same)
4. AMC 2.0/7 (-.1/same)
4. OLTL 2.0/7 (same/same)
4. GH 2.0/6 (-.2/-.3) <------ ties low rating
7. ATWT 1.9/7 (-.1/-.5)
8. GL 1.6/5 (-.1/-.4)

I am not surprised to see Y&R's numbers go down. While they have had some really good storylines, they have also been heavily featuring the lame Katherine kidnapping saga. Enough already!

Interesting. I generally think of the soaps in three groups: the Bell/Sony soaps (Y&R, B&B, and DAYS), the ABC soaps, and the P&G soaps. And all the groups are actually together, and in that order.

I also think it's kind of funny that all the ABC soaps have the same household rating.

There were some blind items on Daytime Confidential the other day that I thought strongly implied that GL would be renewed for another year, which is good.

Some people, if they don't know, you can't tell 'em.

BC has been posting GL's date of death I think for the last three or four years. It may be a good luck charm for the show because for as long as he's announced its cancellation, it hasn't come true.

"A movie is not good because it arrives at conclusions you share, or bad because it does not. A movie is not about what it is about. It is about how it is about it: about the way it considers its subject matter, and about how its real subject may be quite different from the one it seems to provide."
- Roger Ebert, from the introduction to "Awake in the Dark" (2006)

DAYS continues to stay strong without Deidre Hall, Drake Hogestyn, Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans.

Impressive to say the lease!

I am glad to see it above the ABC soaps, especially GH.

It's interesting to see for the past couple of weeks - AMC has had the most growth or least decline (year to year) than any other soap.

I'll take small victories like that...
