I am kinda shock of how much Cornelius Smith Jr. (Frankie, AMC) is being mentioned. I think he's a capable actor but I never thought he was Emmy worthy, but since this is a weak category I wouldn't be upset if he got in.

I think Blake Berris is being grossly underestimated. I can't think of anyone DAYS would pre-nom in his place, and he's got a couple of fantastic tapes. And all the while, you're feeling sympathetic to both the character and the actor that they were sacrificed for Melanie (Molly Burnett). That said, I consider this category to be one of the hardest to guess because of the great number of unexceptional people who are eligible. Unpleasant surprises are bound to pop up.
Billy Magnussen-ATWT Darrin Brooks-DAYS Tom Pelphery-GL Brandon Buddy-OLTL Bryton Mcclure-Y&R
Theres should all be safe bets. The fifth slot should be Blake Berris but I think Magnussen will get by him courtesy of Procter & Gamble. Pelphery should not be in this category but we all know he will be courtesy of P&G once again.
For Your Cosideration Outstanding Drama Series One Life To Live

I do too. But now I am kinda sktchy b/c even though he acted the hell out of those scenes w/holding that girl hostage they were poorly written and Molly Burnett is not a good actress to be paired w/such a good actor like Berris is.

I agree with you. No matter how well he acted them, the scenes at the hotel were horribly written and probably wouldn't play well at all. But I was thinking more than he'd used one of the tapes of him at the police station after Hope and Bo arrest him.
do not be surpised if gh campaigns for Dylan Cash to be nominated .. and with the sentiment surronding his shooting .. he could very well.. get in... especially since .. he was axed by the show...
i hope not. i have been hearing people try to compare dc to kimberly mccullough and i dont think that is fair. there wasnt any objection to km's childhood acting as there was dc's. i so hope gh does not try to repeat this.
and a child has yet to be nominated under the current system. idk how old grimes was when she was nominated in 05. i certainly wouldnt want lw to win lead actress if she was nominated if dc wins younger actor. also when dc had that material last year it was during the strike. guza had cut down his airtime. i do not think gh could be successful campaigning for him to be nominated. cbs wouldnt nominate hunter allen.
Once again, this is the weakest category in the bunch. Apparently, I missed the boat on Brandon Buddy. He has improved, but I still find him to be way too stiff and rigid in his acting.

I think Brandon Buddy is better, but not great in general. However, I did see a couple of episodes from him last year that were very strong. In delivered in the big moments.

this is one of the main reasons i feel that the Younger Actor category should be restructred a bit. They should have a category that honors child actors and one that honors actors that are teen age or higher.
I say they need to break it down like this:
Younger Actor 15+ and Younger Actor Under 15
That way child actors wouldn't have to compete against people in their 20's and 30's.

i think one of the reasons child actors dont get nominated might have something to do with how the under 25/over 20 group would feel if a child actor were to win over them or if they feel comfortable being in the same group as kids and not in a group with just the grownups.
I can see wanting the child actors to be recognized, but really there are even fewer of them who do anything remarkable than there are in the 19-25 crowd. The main reason I don't advocate restricting the act limit to something lower is that actors in their 20s who are in soaps and talented should be encouraged in a way that might make them want to stick around daytime.

i don't think a category for child actors is necessary they are too young, th ey shouldn't be nominated for awards

I fell off of watching ATWT much this past year, but did Jesse Soffer do anything noteworthy in his last couple months on the show? He's got the perennial nominee thing going for him, but I guess Mick Hazen is more likely to get Pre-Nommed.
Oh yeah, Silbermann too. For a second I thought he was too old.
