Good show today. Can't wait to see where Jill/Kay will go next.
As far as the black members of the cast I agree they are an island. Neil is in place to fix that, he is a Newman employee and I see potential for a nice rivalry between him and Nick. I also think an affair between Neil and Victoria would be nice as well. Besides that, the characters of Olivia and Dru must return. If Rowell and Winters don't want to return full time then a recast is in order. Having a strong black family is part of the Bell legacy and I hope MAB/Rauch/Sheffer do not continue to ignore it.

It was just revealed today that Bryton was taken off contract. If Raunch has his way, there will be no black family on Y&R. Read the book ONE LIFE by Ellen Holly and you will understand what I am talking about.
Now there are three MacKenzies. Neither of the previous two were available?
WILLIAM PETERSEN: Well, this is a shock. The only explanation for this is that somehow in the last year, every one of you tried to act with rubber gloves and tweezers.

After watching yesterday's Y&R, I think we are going to have some issues w/Ms. Clementine Ford as Mac. So far I don't think she's comfortable w/the role so I am going to give her awhile to get adjusted.

Did anyone else think the Billy/Mac scenes were pretty much blah until Chloe sauntered in and staked her claim? Maybe Chloe should be the centerpiece of the triangle. Billy and Mac have more chemistry with Chloe than they do with each other.
Ugh. When Phyllis is the voice of reason, you know you're in trouble. Am I the only one who wants to neuter Nick Newman these days?
"A movie is not good because it arrives at conclusions you share, or bad because it does not. A movie is not about what it is about. It is about how it is about it: about the way it considers its subject matter, and about how its real subject may be quite different from the one it seems to provide." - Roger Ebert, from the introduction to "Awake in the Dark" (2006)
Good eppy to today. I really like Jill's cougar moment and I hope Hogan and Maria go further with this because I have always thought a hot-to-trot cougar should tear thru a soap town.

Maybe if Mac were paired with hyper-crazy Kevin, it might work. She just doesn't have that it factor with Billy. If he's going to toss over a sexy worships the ground he walks on dish like Chloe, I need to see some kind of sparkage between Billy & Mac to justify that. Right now they just bore and I find myself getting irritated whenever they're on screen. That's time that could be used elsewhere on stories that are actually interesting.
So far I actually like Clementine's Mac, but damn...she's a huge swing back towards the traditionally wry-to-dour Mac (and as much as I adored Rachel Kimsey's Mac, she wasn't that 75% of the time). The problem is that she's being stuck in scenes with folks who tend to be really animated, and the net result isn't pretty.
Having said that: if Jana wasn't in the picture, I'd be the first in line to finally see Mac and Kevin hook up...

as a matter of fact, the actress doesn't seem like she's even happy being on a soap. No spark in her performances.
Get rid of her and the character. Billy has his hands full anyway...no need for Mac to be in the picture.
To me, it looks as if the writers are leaning toward a Mac/Cane pairing...which would be a HUGE mistake.
I say get rid of Mac, Jana, Kevin, Amber and Daniel, and let Hurricane Nina sink her teeth into Cane AND Billy.....can u imagine Jill and Nina going at it again???
Mac is just a boring character, period. Ashley Bashioum looked like she was in a coma in a role; ditto with Rachel Kimsey and Clementine Ford. Kelly Kruek was just forgettable - and the temporary recast they had to fill in for Ashley Bashioum while she was sick was too old for the part at that time.
I really like Mac and Clemintine Ford. Plus, the character has always been kind of a bore because she is so normal and a little bit of a goody two shoes, but I actually think a normal character on a soap is refreshing. We have enough psychos, sluts, vixens on shows these days.
And I can't believe everyone wants Eden Reigel as a recast Mac. If you want spice and fire in an actress Reigel is not the way to go.

The character that does need to go is Cane. Such an abuse of a character and he has become so pompous these last few months. He has the charisma of a used car salesman and paired with Christel Kahlil's Lily, yuck. Talk about a passion free pairing.
