I just saw a feature in Soap Opera Digest where they asked actors something like who should your character hook up with. Peter Bergman mentioned Diane Jenkins, and the magazine ran with it a photo of . . . Susan Walters! I'm a fan of Walters over Donnelly also. For me, it's not about looks or even who's the better actress. I just liked Walters more in the role.
No other show does flashback scenes better than Y&R. Today's episode was truly nostalgic as Victor looked back on the ups and downs of his life while still keeping that defiant attitude he always had.
It's just really sad that Y&R allowed Heather Tom to leave and did not do enough to woo her back. A episode like today's really missed out on all the fantastic scenes that Victoria and Victor shared together.
Also seeing the little girl that once played Abby reminded me how much I loved that little girl. She was such an incredible actress for her age and I kinda wish they had kept her on in the role as Abby.
I don't know what to say about this actress they have playing teenage Abby. I don't want to say she is a bad actress because part of the problem I believe is that the show has done nothing to develop that character so maybe that's why the actress always seems so confused when she get's a couple lines to play with.
Every time she comes on screen I can't help but laugh because her version on Abby comes across as dumb-witted and stupid. I don't know if this is done on purpose in the actress portrayal of the character or if this is just how clueless the actress really is?
Oh man I am totally with MTS Rocks, but I agreed with everything BErlin said up to The Fishers/Diane..
Today's episode with Victor's monologue was the first truly enjoyable episode of Y&R in many months. Well done. But it is back to garbage tomorrow. So. Whatever. This show needs to find a new headwriter(s).

I was watching Y&R on Thursday (the episode with Victor filming the video for Faith) and I had this idea... Wouldn't it be great if all the women affected by the Victor v. Jack (and now Billy) feud -- Ashley, Nikki, Abby, Mac, Katherine, Sharon -- got together and gave an ultimatum to the men in town to stop their bickering? Something similar to the play "Lysistrata" by Aristophanes, where the women in town withhold sex from the men until the men stop fighting... It would be cool to see the women in Genoa City taking a stand against the pettiness and stubbornness of the men in their lives, and it might be fun to see all these women coming together and acting as a team. Just a thought...
The rumour of Lauren being killed off to free Michael and Phyllis up to be paired better be a rumour. But the rumour is making its way around the Internet really quickly.
i know she's supposed to be dead, from the s/l when she got plastic surgery to look like phyllis. but why all the mystery on who his mother is? & a few months ago, while ryder was still in jail, some unseen woman (except for a hand)came to see him. i forget his line of dialogue to her. also ryder & ?who? is targeting michael & lauren (the envelope ryder gave to deacon had their pix in it).

WHAT?! There's a rumor that Lauren's being killed off?! This better be false. There's been ENOUGH deaths on Y&R over the last year and also Lauren is one of my favorite characters. And I love the fact that Lauren and Michael have one of daytime's happiest marriages (which goes to show that, when written well, a couple CAN be happy for a long time). Plus Michael and Phyllis wouldn't make a good couple, in my opinion. They make great friends but I can't see them as lovers.
As great as an actor Christian Le Blanc is the only pairing his character ever had chemistry with was Lauren. It will be an absolute shame for them to kill Lauren off like that. I mean doesn't longevity means anything to the forces at work behind the scenes at Y&R? First John, Brad and now Lauren!!!
Michael has been paired with Christine and Grace in the past and both those pairings never worked out. What the hell makes these people think a Michael/Phyllis pairing will work is beyond me?
What they need to do is find a way to get Sharon and Nick back together for once and for all. Phyllis and Nick in my opinion has zero chemistry. They just happen to be two very attractive people that is hott to look at but when you get down to it they severely lack chemistry together.
Sharon and Nick on the other hand not only looks hott together but they have a tonne of chemistry together - that's why all this back and forth between the characters always seems to work even though they fight and hurt each other a lot.
It's kind of weird though because Sharon Case can have chemistry with anyone she is paired with. Even if it is with Jack or Brad and believe it or not even Adam. Forgetting all the bad things Adam has done of late you still see a lot of chemistry between him and Sharon even at these early stages of a relationship between the two.
Phyllis has only been paired good once and that was with with Jack and even then I kinda wanted Jack to be with Susan Walter's Diane. Every other man she has been paired with has been BORING!!! Damon anyone?!?!
Why do i have a feeling Patty's look-a-like will turn out to be Katherine's daughter and Abby's new weird teen friend (Daisy) will turn out to be Sheila's daughter with Massimo (from B&B).
And who's to say when Sheila had plastic surgery to look like Phyllis...that it was actually her. Remember when Sheila was in prison (on B&B) and her cellmate was a lady named Sugar (played by Robin Mattson)? Who's to say Sheila didn't pay the surgeon to make Sugar look like Phyllis and the real Sheila is still out there somewhere.
Remember, this is Maria and Hogan.....they aren't playing with a full deck anymore!!

and mark, well i'm sure you saw the end of b&b today and if that didnt give you a sheila vibe, i don't know what did. so maybe sugar was the phyllis lookalike or some psycho sheila brainwashed.

yeah....that was a Sheila vibe, for sure...but isn't this the start of Sarah Brown's role as Sandy Somers...Nick and Bridget's surrogate??

Wow. Another hospital scene - two actually. The writers really need to come up with new ways to squeeze emotions from us. The hospital/characters at peril twists are starting to lose their impact.
Loved the confrontation between Deacon and Phyllis. I definitely saw a lot of sparks. Reminded me a lot of when Nick was going after Daniel and Phyllis and him butted heads big time. Look where they ended up. I want Deacon and Phyllis to be a couple so bad - and called it when it was announced that Kanan would be joining the show. Explore it writers!

Hmmm.. this might actually work. I would love to see this. I never thought Phyllis and Nick had any chemistry - just that they were two insanely attractive people that was pretty to look at and their love scenes were hott. But apart from that these two together are a complete bore!!!
As for Michelle Stafford saying that Phyllis and Nick have a bigger fan base than Nick and Sharon - give me a break!!! There is a reason why the writers keep pairing Sharon and Nick back together almost every year since Nick got with Phyllis and that's because a lot of fans want to see them back together and also they have a lot of chemistry together.
Furthermore it's not that big news to hear her say "Phick" has a bigger fans base because let's face it if they ever put Nick and Sharon back together again where does that leave Phyllis?!?! - especially when it is still possible that Summer could be Jack's child?
Another reason why there may be more people liking "phick" over "shick"- which I doubt there is btw - but if it is then it probably has to do with the whole Sharon and Nick cheating on their spouses to be together that everyone is annoyed at.
Still a Phyllis/Deacon pairing might be worth watching. Because even when she slapped Deacon a couple weeks ago, even then I thought this is the making of a crazy pairing only the likes of Phyllis and Deacon can truly heat up!!!
i too was wowed by stafford with that scene, it was like the old phyllis was back almost. when stafford is away from jm or any of the newmans she takes off. she already had a good scene monday with patty and she had another one with deacon yesterday. stafford has been looking like a bright spot so far this week.
Let's play a game. Many fans have expressed time and time again that the show needs to be trimmed, so actors can be utilized and the deadweights can be eliminated.

Well, I just spent 15 minutes deleting 3 weeks worth of Y&R from my DVR. In my 23 years viewing, I never missed more than 2 episodes in a row. Not even LML could drive me away. Even sadder...I don't miss not watching it. In the meantime, if I need my Y&R fix, I have you tube where I can catch classic scenes of days gone by! I never thought this day would come but the show just became to much to bear. Storylines that go no where. Air time filled with charactes I don't care about. I will be keeping up with GC online and if the buzz changes who knows!
So long to a 23 year old friend! I wish the people in charge and taken better care of you.
Mark my words, Abby's friend Daisy is going to be Sheila's daughter with Massimo and she is the one who sent Lauren the rat. And it is no coincidence she got a job at Fenmore's.
The Phyllis look-a-like was not Sheila, it was Sheila's ex cellmate (Sugar) who was posing as Phyllis while the real Sheila was laying low.
Kimberlin Brown will be back at Y&R by year's end....trust me!

I forgot about that baby Shelia and Mossimo had on that island of dreams lol. I have not watch Y&R in over a month but I do like the actress they have playing Daisy.
I would be able to take this Y&R if it was mixed w/some of the good stuff they had going on last yr. The only thing I hear is great about the show is Billy Miller.
Maria needs to get control if these are not her ideas, but if they are wow have the mighty have fallen.
