^^^I'm not sure myself, but the voice did sound familiar. I love Beth's voice, and if that was her, they should have got her to sing something better.

BEST DRAMA SERIES
BEST DIRECTING

One Life to Live

Must say that it is really hard to believe that this show is produced on such a shoestring budget. Thought this episode really brought it with the editing, directing and drama. Blair going through the window right after Dorian's lesbian announcement all while the kids are watching it on TV.

The Young and the Restless

Best Supporting Actress-Eileen Davidson as Ashley Abbott Newman

Ashley tells Victor she wants the ranch. Ashley puts Nikki in her place in regards to Victor and the ranch.

Eileen was on fire today and I loved the reference to Nikki and Victor always getting back together on their death beds. Loved Ashley putting Nikki in her place which is long deserved.

WILLIAM PETERSEN: Well, this is a shock. The only explanation for this is that somehow in the last year, every one of you tried to act with rubber gloves and tweezers.

One Life to Live
Best Supporting Actor
Brett Claywell - Kyle Lewis

Fish tries to talk Kyle out of "marrying" Nick, but Kyle doesn't think Fish is ready for the kind of relationship he wants.

I think this was Claywell's best performance yet. Even though the story pacing is insane, he did a great job showing how hurt Kyle is by the history he's had with Fish.

Days of our Lives
Best Actress
Arianne Zucker - Nicole Dimera

Nicole prepares to tell Sami that Sydney is actually her daughter.

Nicole's been so consumed with guilt over what she did to Sami, and Zucker's doing a fantastic job with both that and the grief she feels over the impending loss of her child.

Days of our Lives
Best Drama Series
Best Directing
Best Supporting Actor
Joseph Mascolo - Stefano Dimera
Best Younger Actress
Molly Burnett - Melanie Layton
Best Younger Actor
Casey Jon Deidrick - Chad Peterson Woods

After an exchange of harsh words, Stefano decides not to tell Sami that Sydney is her baby and instead sides with Nicole. Nicole gives Chad a taste of fatherhood. Rafe makes his way off Carly's boat. Melanie has difficulty rebuffing Phillip's advances. Stephanie admits to Nathan that she's jealous of Melanie.

No real fireworks here as far as storyline progression, but I just thought this was a really good episode with humor, dramatic suspense, and romantic tension. The Sami/Stefano scenes were really well done. Burnett and Deidrick both gave strong and believable performances. This episode also featured the best baby acting I've ever seen! When Nicole handed Sydney over to Chad and she got so upset, and then calmed down once she was back in Nicole's arms, I was impressed. Good show.

Drama Series

Lead Actor
Maurice Bernard as Sonny Corinthos

Supporting Actress
Sarah Brown as Claudia Zacchara~Corinthos

Supporting Actor
Ingo Rademacher as Jasper Jacks

Best Writing Team

Best Directing Team

Sonny rips into Claudia regarding her betrayal and Claudia kidnaps Carly, who goes into labor. Jax is angry at Sonny for unleashing his anger at the party

Honestly this episode was worth the wait of over a year. We FINALLY got to see the beginning of Claudia's demise. Bernard was great and has an awesome tape. He hasn't had this kind of performance in years and Sarah Brown was equally as good with her rage and all of her car scenes. I also think Ingo deserves a citation because of the simple fact that this was his best performance I've seen in a while. GH this is what I call a pay-off and the intensity only heightened as the episode went on. A Pitch-perfect episode. It reminded me of the Metro Court Hostage Crisis in some ways. Laura Wright also deserves some love but this wasn't her tape, I loved her expression when she learned Jax knew everything.

I'll admit Sarah Brown was pretty effective here. Maurice Benard was all hot air, and he had one good line, but then he fell back into his usual antics. I would say a strong case could be made for writing, directing, and Sarah Brown with this episode.

i'm going to wait before i decide if this is emmy worthy on brown's front because the writers have disrespected her and this is what is ending my 13-year viewership of gh, the longest viewership of any soaps i watched without boycotting at certain points(dool, atwt).

i don't care for mb's performance, it was just the beginning of the show. and if calling someone a wh&r# is what considered an emmy worthy performance then thats a major issue for me. we don't need to see actors winning emmys for degrading women especially maurice benard of all people whose character has always degraded women. and i hope that the natas doesnt give mb the emmy over david canary for the climactic collision of his alter egos on amc after winning five emmys for playing those roles.

I actually think Bernard was better on Thursday, when he was holding back his rage and playing the loving husband, waiting to move in for the kill. Don't think he could win an Emmy with it though. Friday was the Emmy bait. I agree a case can definitely be made for writing, directing, and Best Actress for Brown. She did a tremendous job with this horrible character.

Thanks Chedder for updating the list. I've been meaning too, but life has been busy here - so I appreciate the help. Nov. 1 and we're on page 17, talk about depressing quality of daytime television! Remember when these citation pages used to have 50 or more pages by the end of a voting cycle?

this mostly has to do with the actors we don't want having the good performances. michelle stafford had some good stuff earlier but the second half is just repetitive performances of what we already saw. that, and the fact she has reverted back to saint phyllis again. now she is not someone we don't want to watch, however saint phyllis i could do without. and sarah brown has been getting the absolute shaft by the writers. friday was her best performance of the year but it may not have been enough. and too much braeden and bergman overload makes us eventually not care about citing them, too much billy miller as well. there also has been a lot of tension towards y&r because of the backstage stuff, atwt is just now over the last few months got it together, amc is unwatchable. there doesnt seem to really be anyone commanding stage but the same ol, same ol. stafford, bergman, and miller have already had their best work this year and i dont think they can top what they already did for this year. there needs to be writing for great actors. where is that "wow" factor? i'm not seeing it.

One Life to Live
Drama Series
Writing
Directing
Supporting Actor - Brett Claywell

The conclusion of the Big Gay Wedding featured Dorian marrying Amelia as pretty much everyone in and from Llanview either witnessed it in person or on television. Bo and Nora finally admit their love for each other as Rachel breaks it off with Shaun. Kyle (Claywell) leaves Nick a tthe altar and makes a poignant and emotional speech professing his love for Oliver. The show was firing on all cylinders today as the closing sequence with the voiceover by Reverend Carpenter perfectly summed up the state of many of the show's current relationships.

I guess you're right, daytimeemmyfan. I'm prone to citing the shows I watch, that's only really been two shows lately, and I hesitate if I seem to be the only person who has anything to say about a certain performance or show.

well i'm going to step out of the box and say sarah brown had an even better tape today, and tomorrow as she becomes obsessed and demanding with carly's baby before getting whacked in the head might be the best of all three. sjb was more quiet but she had that bloodied deranged look as she put her gun down and then was helping carly give birth and then at the end she is holding carly's baby. gh tried to make it seem as of it was wright's tape but really it was brown's. it was also just the two carlys which may have made it stand apart even more.
