Monday, April 27, 2009 Days of our Lives Best Supporting Actress Renee Jones - Lexie Carver
Stefano comes to Lexie for help when he suspects that Victor has had him poisoned. Lexie has trouble putting aside her anger at Stefano and EJ for trying to kill Phillip, but becomes more concerned when it seems Stefano really is ill.
Nothing overly showy about this eppy, but Jones has some great and subtle moments. She's always great when Lexie is torn between helping her family and letting them suffer the punishments they've brought on themselves.

I second this and....
Renee Jones
Supporting actress
Apr. 28, 2009
basically a continuation of the previous episode, only this time she is telling him what's actually wrong with him, and furious that he won't take it seriously, and then gets told off by philip, which upset her more than she tried to let on, given she just helped save his life.

Todd confronts Schuyler about information he received regarding his daughter sleeping with her teacher, Schuyler. Clifton did a superb job opposite Trevor St. John and is proving that he's one of the few casting choices OLTL has gotten right this year and how he's grown from his GH days.
GUIDING LIGHT April 15, 2009 LEAD ACTRESS - Kim Zimmer (Reva O'Neill) Zimmer was on fire as Reva confronted Edmund at Cross Creek who had just kidnapped Colin from Ceders. Zimmer ran the gambit in this eppy with fear, strength under pressure, sadness, and scared anger.
April 17, 2009 WRITING LEAD ACTRESS - Crystal Chappell (Olivia Spencer) SUPPORTING ACTRESS - Jessica Leccia (Natalia Rivera Spaulding) SUPPORTING ACTOR - Frank Dicopolous (Frank Cooper)
Guiding Light gave all soap fans an hour to be proud of. With poignant writing, delicately nuanced performances...the light was shining bright. The titanic performance of Crystal Chappell and Jessica Leccia were heartbreaking as they admitted their love to each other. Frank Dicopolous as the lovelorn Frank finally made his way to the alter and his anxiousness for another grasp at the brass ring has helped anchor this story in additional realistic conflict. This story played out this week and climaxed in this one eppy. It transcended everyday mundane soap opera plot twists with some of the most poignant storytelling seen in years. WHO KNEW IT COULD COME FROM GL?!?! Then again, it's the only soap that could give us this ongoing journey of pure gold.
I agree with everyting you said about this episode. It would definitely be a strong submission for Zimmer, Chappell, and Writing. It's hard to believe CBS is cancelling this show when it's so much better creatively than it was a few months ago.
As great as Brandon was on Friday I think Eddie was even better today telling Cole to jump.
FYC Globe Voters: Steve Carrell (The 40 Year Old Virgin) For Lead Actor In A Comedy and The 40 Year Old Virgin For Best Comedy. Yeah I know, you laugh while watching this Comedy, but still put it on your ballot.
May 5, 2009 All My Children Lead Actress - Debbi Morgan
Frankie is injured while in Iraq. Angie is worried.
Morgan was great yesterday portraying the worried mother, which she does so well. This storyline is moving along nicely as is the show, finally! Though it is still littered with some clumsy acting (Denise Vasi), and repetitive stories (Ian is sick, Zach/Kendall/Ryan).
Monday, May 4, 2009 The Young and the Restless Best Actress Jess Walton - Jill Abbott
Jill drunkenly interrupts Kay and Murphy's wedding, and is devastated to see how happy Kay is without her.
This episode was a good mix of a lot of things for Walton. Kind of funny, at times very emotional, and I just loved her hitting on the hot bartender at the end. She played drunk fantastically.
Also: Tuesday, May 5, 2009 Days of our Lives Best Supporting Actress Lauren Koslow - Kate Roberts
Kate rips into Chloe for her affair with Daniel.
Koslow perfectly channeled the ferocity of an overprotective mother and the fury of Kate having kept her anger pent up for months.
once again, gh botches yet another episode for sarah brown. if it wanst for ric interrupting her in the chapel, this could have been a moment to really show how sorry claudia was for michael getting shot and for sarah brown to have a good preformance. but nooo, gh has to once again dumb her down for their precious laura wright, who plays a 40 year old acting carly now all victimized and tortured as the show for the umpteenth time hypes her for that "emmy" instead of writing for an actress who could win it without all the hyping. that is why when brown leaves, i am done with gh.
i will know where gh is going with her when jason confronts her friday and if the writing for claudia isnt what it should be in how she reacts and defends herself and explains the situation. if its claudia looked at as a sorry pathetic woman and its jason telling her she should pay and he will kill then i know gh has no intent to want to write anything fulfilling for her.
i dont know how much longer i can keep defending brown's writing. its just i know she's capable of being way better. like hogan on atwt, i believe guza will be fired next year after sjb leaves.
May 12 All My Children Best Drama Series Best Actor, Vincent Irrizarry Best Writing
This was actually a very entertaining hour for AMC. Krystal tells Marisa she is her mother; David finds out he has another daughter; and everyone verbally attacks Adam for the defective heart valve. Everyone did great work, but Irrizarry really outshined everyone, going from vengeful to hurt and angry when finding out he has another daughter. This is the beginning of a great murder mystery storyline for AMC, regardless of who the victim may REALLY be.
Thursday, May 7, 2009 Days of our Lives Best Actress Arianne Zuker - Nicole DiMera
Nicole learns Stefano is missing, and frets when EJ invites Dr. Baker to the mansion to question him. She tries to convince Dr. Baker to leave town.
There were some great, subtle moments in this episode as Nicole continues to realize just what kind of family she's married into. She also plays really well off John Callahan's Dr. Baker.
The Young and the Restless Best Supporting Actress Eileen Davidson - Ashley Abbott
The Abbotts face Gloria in court, where she admits to tampering with the face cream. Afterwards, Ashley and Gloria argue and Ashley is rushed to the hospital. Victor convinces her to take a leave from Jabot for the sake of her pregnancy.
There were some great scenes from Davidson when she testified, later when she argued with Gloria, and at the hospital when she woefully realized that leaving Jabot and staying home at the ranch all day would be best for the pregnancy, even though all the Sabrina stuff is completely unnerving to her. Great job.
Days of our Lives Younger Actress Shelley Hennig - Stephanie Johnson
Stephanie, unknowing that Philip has been drugged by Owen, argues with him out of frustration about how much she loves him, when the drugs make him experience odd behavior, she gives up on arguing and she ends up walking away, and is then kidnapped by owen and locked in the morgue.

Best Supporting Actor-Daniel Goddard as Cane Ashby
Cane prepares for his marriage to Lily by remembering the long road it took to get there.
I thought Daniel was very dramatic and tender in looking back at the past and it was a great way to remember how Cane and Lily struggled to be together.

Best Drama Series
Cane and Lily get married.
For the Cane and Lily fans this is the ultimate fantasy ending with a great twist. Loved the big reveal at the end and this episode sets in motion the events that will probably unfold into the summer.

May 18, 2009 All My Children Best Supporting Actor - Jacob Young
Adam is murdered and various people suspect JR as the culprit because he has been drinking and also fighting with his father.
Although the episode as a whole was disappointing, Young was rather good in it today as JR defended himself against accuasations that he killed his father and that he is drinking again.
May 18, 2009 As the World Turns Outstanding Lead Actress: Maura West
Craig infuriates Carly by telling her he thinks she is turning into an alcoholic. She tells him to not judge her because she got enough of that from Jack. He starts to make her see the light and convinces her to throw out the rest of her vodka. When he leaves, she gets another bottle from under the sink and downs a glass.

Shayne tells Marina that he is Henry's biological father; Marina lashes out at Shayne.
GL will be television history in less than four months, and we are seeing brilliant perfs in the closing weeks of the show. I'm sad to see the series end, but that's all I can say without the mods knocking on my door...
