e/w, I would say your ranking are pretty on the mark. I might switch GL and Y&R. I think GL has improved a lot which is a shame as I don't think it's going to make a difference.

"A movie is not good because it arrives at conclusions you share, or bad because it does not. A movie is not about what it is about. It is about how it is about it: about the way it considers its subject matter, and about how its real subject may be quite different from the one it seems to provide."

GH, AMC, and ATWT used to be my favorites back in the day, too. Completely unwatchable now.

Y&R

Character driven, excellent production, great writing, revitalized acting, and just a pleasure to watch.

Can't rank the others, I don't waste my time.

What luck for rulers that men do not think.

As a person who's only really been watching DAYS and Y&R (albeit a couple of months behind) for the last few months, I find this kind of shocking. How bad are ATWT and GH?

It really does feel like a nice change to have people two legitimately strong shows right now. Maybe that'll spread and before long there'll be three or four shows that we're passionately debating for which is best. Dare to dream . . .

gl has improved for sure, but everything else is sketchy under them. i put gh at fourth because at least i can tolerate some of their stories and on dool, its the whole danloe thing thats got me watching as after that i cant find anything else tolerable. atwt gives emily a brain and they keep this up with craig now having the upper hand and hopefully if peg ends, then i will give them a higher ranking. amc and b&b are almost always boring.

1. Tie -- OLTL and Y&R: Grade B
3. GL: Grade B-
4. Days: Grade B-
5. AMC: Grade C+
6. GH: Grade C
7. B&B: Grade D-
8. ATWT: Grade F

OLTL is a solid B but some stories, like Stacey's, are very difficult to watch.

Y&R was an A- but has been trending down fast. Too dark, too icky, too quick.

GL is a good show but automatic points deducted for production model.

Days is trending up fast. Was a unwatchable only 5 months ago. An amazing turnaround.

AMC is trending up, albeit slowly.

GH is a flat C. Same old same old but points for good production and a very solid cast.

B&B is horrible but gets points for great production values. A much better show on mute than with the sound on.

ATWT is not a soap opera. The writers seems to be imitating the movie Quills and are writing with human waste against the P&G walls.

I'm glad many are ranking B&B as last. It's truly awful. Brooke/Ridge/Taylor is just lazy writing. Thorne and Felicia are glorified day players. Donna and Pam have lost their spark. Bill's a joke, HOwen's a gold digging slut and Jackie keeps sinking to new lows. Diamont, Beemer and Downe are terrible actors that are sinking the show. It's a terrible show when someone as annoying as Nick is the only palatable character that's acting logically. I don't know if I'd rank Y&R number 1, but MTS is fantastic. I love her bitchiness with Gloria and her tender moments with Victor.

Oh boy. I only watch ATWT. Judging from the rankings going on, I guess ignorance this case is bliss. If I don't know what else is out there, I can't be malcontent with what I'm accustomed to, right? Hehe.
