I read on the SON board that Jamie Luner is in talks to take over the role of Skye Chandler Quartermaine!

All I can say is heaven help us all and I guess some of the people on other boards have hit the nail on the head. Pine Valley has become Melrose Valley.

WTF????????????????????????????????????????

Unless something has changed, Robin Christopher has always said she preferred the east coast to the west coast and would love a return to AMC. The only way I will not be mad about this is if they offered her the role and she turned it down. Absolute b/s. If Christopher didn't want the role they could have at least offered it to the Skye recast of the 90s, Carrie Genzel. Such a shinking ship this show.

Coming up next...the returns of Liza Colby and Brooke English, both recast. Mad

I hope this casting rumor falls through, because it's just a bad idea.

Obviously, as AwardMadness said, Robin Christopher should be the first name on your list if you're looking to bring back Skye. And if neither she or her original recast are willing or able to resume the role, then frankly the show should reconsider bringing her back at all, because AMC doesn't need Skye to tell its stories right now, and any possible return can wait until you can get the right actress.

I have nothing against Jamie Luner, per se, other than her season of so-so work as the lead on "Profiler," but she bears little resemblance to Christopher in appearance or temperament, other than red hair, and that alone should not be the primary consideration in recasting a role. It would amount to introducing a new character no one cares about and calling her Skye Chandler, which would p!ss me off, because Skye has a rich history not just on AMC but on OLTL and GH too.

I actually think this casting is SPOT ON. Jamie Luner actually does look a great deal like Robin Christopher and Carrie Genzel, she is tall with red hair and a slim body. Also, she is a very good actress---she can do drama or comedy she has a lot of expierance to bring to the table. She's worked on sitcoms, dramas and nighttime soaps... I think that bringing Skye back now is a grand idea, any use of history to me is a great idea and if RC doesn't want the role this is a great actress to pick.

I've been a fan of hers for years from "Just The Ten Of Us" to "Melrose", "Savannah" and "The profiler". She is a DIVINE ACTRESS!

this may get me to watch "AMC" again.

Praying The Daytime Emmys air on TV in 2010!

My thing is that if this is true, ppl are going to lose their minds!
Jamie is an OK actress, but she wouldn't make a good Skye, and if they can't ge Robin or Carrie back, thenm Skye doesn't come back.
And the mess that AMC is in I will forever blame on Megan McTavish. She threw the show into creative and ratings hell thanks to her undoing Erica's abortion. And the writers that came after her have been cleaning up that mess have/is doing the best they can, but so far it has been an ant step up for her reign, but nothing special.

I have limited sympathy for new writers cleaning an old writer's mess. Ron Carlivati inherited Dena Higley's OLTL, and Maria Arena Bell and Hogan Sheffer inherited Lynn Marie Latham's Y&R. They got their shows into shape relatively quickly.

I don't think it's not that hard. If there are characters who are don't belong or are overexposed, write them out or limit their storylines. If a storyline isn't working, close it out or change it in a way that makes it work. If your veterans are being neglected, write for them. These shows have been around for so long that no writer can do damage that can't be fixed. AMC would be on fire right now if the right scribe would scrap most of the newbies and the kiddies, keep Ryan, Zach, and Kendall from swallowing the show, and pen character-driven storylines for Brooke, Tad, Erica, Adam, Stuart, and neglected characters like Stuart and Marian. Y&R's longtime vets are front and center, and yet AMC sticks us mostly with characters the audience has no relationship with, or familiar characters recast with actors who completely alter the characters' identities. Tell me, how was Ricky Paull Goldin, no doubt a talented actor, even considered for the same role played previously by J. Eddie Peck and Michael Lowry? It would be like recasting Angie Hubbard with Catherine Hickland.

Yes, McTavish slashed and burned her way through AMC after the initial success of her baby switch storyline, but two years after her departure, she's not to blame if the ship hasn't righted itself. It just needs a writer, producer, and network who are willing to return the show to what it once was. It clearly hasn't found that yet.

I never thought of it that way. I just think if they wouldn't be so determine to make Alicia, Cameron, and Thorsten the sole focus and have the vets in the subpar stories like Vincent, Debbi, Darnell, Walt, Ray, Susan, Jill, Michael, David, etc., it can probably be better.

The one thing that could have (possibly) lured me back to All My Children (other than Marcy Walker returning; I'm still holding on to a little hope for that to happen!) would have been Robin Christopher returning as Skye. I guess now I don't have to waste my time.

Hate to be harsh because I like Jamie Luner, but I have ZERO interest in seeing anyone other than Robin Christopher playing Skye Chandler. Period.

I love the character of Skye and especially her interactions with Adam and Tad, but Christopher is and always will be Skye to me and most other AMC fans, but I'm not sure this will do anything for AMC because yet again the writing is horrid, the show unfocoused and the wrong characters are running all the stories.

I wish there was someone at ABC who cared enough about AMC to save the sinking ship. The writing over the last 10 years has been atrocious. Erica's unabortion, Tad burying Madden alive, Madden being brough on in the first place, Zach and Bianca making a baby....the list goes on and on!

Agree with most of the above. Jamie Lunar seems like a terrible choice if this role were being recast, which it probably shouldn't be in the first place.

Bring Back Marlena!
