Galen gerring's scenes when grace died, were good, the rest of the time, i just find him pretty terrible, i rarely see any emotion come from him, and his tone of voice never seems to change, he's got the looks, but sure not much else.

Does anyone else think the girl playing Kimmy (or whatever the hell her name is) should've been cast as Joy. B/c the girl could pass as Nadia's sister.
And what did my poor Rachel Kimsey do to her hair. Red is not flattering her at all.

the "kimmy" you are refering to is kinsey, the jan spears "wannabe" who is mia's enemy, and i never thought about it before, but you could be right...speaking of joy...why aren't nancy and craig suddenly returning to the show at least briefly while their daughter is in a coma??? i suppose it's the same as steve and kayla during all of stephanie's crisis's...the least they could do out of respect for the veterans is put them on recurring status, if they don't have contract, john and marlena, got a cheesy, but at least somewhat of an exit, kayla is recovering from her bullet wound...wow, must have buried deeper in her than we thought, if she had to disappear for months to continue recovery.

Kayla and Steve apparently went to be do-gooders in Africa (which is where DAYS sends you if you're a doctor who they think has completely run out of story, like Laura and Bill*). It's been mentioned a couple of times, like when Phillip made a really generous donation to whatever group they are working with. I guess that's why Lexie is (maybe?) once again chief of staff at the hospital. (This wasn't said explicitly, but it's been said a few times that she's Daniel's boss.)
The girl playing Kinsey could definitely pass for Nadia Bjorlin's sister. Craig is scheduled to be making a Nancy-less return sometime soon because of Chloe being in a coma.
I like Rachel Kimsey's red hair, but then I don't really know what she would look like otherwise because I wasn't really watching Y&R when she was on.
*Non-doctors who DAYS thinks have run out of story get sent to Europe, ala Jack, Jennifer, and Billie.

I think the show got new hairstylists. The hair has been looking much better the last few episodes. I thought especially Nicole's and EJ's both looked really good. Hopefully, they'll do something else with the mess they've made of Phillip's hair.
Haha, I was just about to post, why do nearly all the men on this show have awful hair? I can't take Philip seriously looking at the greasy, droopy, stringy mess on his head.

Yesterday's episode solidifies why I'll never be on Lucas Horton (nee Roberts) side on anything and poor Bryan Ditillo. The character of Lucas has been a petulant momma's boy since I have been watching and watching him be "sir screams a lot" yesterday at Daniel's cell was unintentionally funny. And I have to say as much as I hate Kate Roberts, Lauren Koslow has been amazing in this storyline.

Yes, she has. Koslow's at her best when Kate's being loathesome, though I did enjoy her during Kate's most compassionate and vulnerable phase, around the time she married Roman and tried to make peace with Sami. (I seem to be in the minority here, but even though Kate's actions are ostensibly despicable, I'm kind of not bothered because of how much Chloe and Daniel have irritated me since their affair started.)
I like Bryan Datillo, but he's just not that great of an actor. What I will give him credit for is that at least if he can't be effective, he'll be amusing. Usually, the only time he has a chance of really nailing a scene is if Alison Sweeney's in it.
Phillip's hair actually looks better! Still not that good, but a step in the right direction.
This so going to help me when I get my laptop sometime before the yr. ends! (Come on AMC & OLTL!) _____________________________________________ Watch Days of Our Lives at NBC.com Submitted by Luke Kerr on August 10, 2009 - 3:41pm

I must have done a good deed and not even realized it: Bo, Hope, Lexie and Abe have all been on a lot this week, with actions and lines and everything. It's great! Also, the show was smart to kind of refocus the Ciara kidnapping plot on the actual kidnapping rather than continuing to heavily play up these visions that Bo is having.

i wish he'd just talk to a doctor already and get rid of these damn visions!!!

I've been watching this show for weeks, and the writing is stronger than on most other shows right now, and far more consistent than Y&R and OLTL, but something's missing. I keep asking myself why I don't get particularly excited about the show, and I think I know what it is: I don't really care about these characters.
Rafe, Chloe, Lucas, Daniel, E.J., Brady, Philip, Stephanie, Will, Mia, Melanie, Arianna -- I don't care about any of them. Some of them are played by decent actors (Shelley Hennig, and these days even Molly Burnett), some are played by very bad actors (Dylan Patton as Will is unwatchable), but I'm not invested in any of them as characters. And the characters I do care about (Lexie, Bo, Hope, Maggie, Nicole) are either backburner or in storylines I'm not enthusiastic about.
"A movie is not good because it arrives at conclusions you share, or bad because it does not. A movie is not about what it is about. It is about how it is about it: about the way it considers its subject matter, and about how its real subject may be quite different from the one it seems to provide." - Roger Ebert, from the introduction to "Awake in the Dark" (2006)
I kind of felt the same way about the show in the beginning of the year, but I think the writers did a good job of mixing up characters I didn't care about with the ones I did that a lot of it rubbed off (Sami with Rafe/Will/Mia, Kate/Lucas with Daniel/Chloe, Stefano/EJ with Nicole, Maggie with Melanie/Nathan). I think the weakest link is the young adults, particularly Brady and Arianna. I'm liking Lindsay Hartley as Arianna, but if the two of them aren't involved with other characters, I definitely lose interest. Brady should be more dynamic/interesting, but Eric Marltsof does nothing with the character.
I think pretty much 90% of characters aged 15-35 are dead weight. Add Nathan to that list; I forgot even to mention him when making my apathy list, LOL. When I see them with characters I enjoy (like Sami, Nicole, and Kate), it tends to weigh down the good rather than uplift the bad.

I can't wait for today's episode. I haven't been this excited for an episode of a soap, especially one that does not involve some sort of gay kiss/hook up, in forever. With major developments in both the Kate/Daniel story and the baby switch story, the rest of the week should be killer.
Seems like they're really clearing the decks for Crystal Chapelle's return.
Great show yesterday, and all of this week has been good. I love the addition of Kate to the insanity that is the DiMera family, and the baby switch reveal is unfolding beautifully. It's so exciting knowing that the when Sami, Mia, and everyone else learns the truth about the baby switch, they'll also be playing Crystal Chappell's story. Can't wait.
DAYS has just been awesome this entire week all culminating to Friday which is one of DAYS best episodes in a while. Carly's return was perfect, stabbing Lawrence after an altercation, sheer hate in her eyes as he stares at her in disbelief, perfect way to introduce her to new viewers who were not around in the early 90's.
The partial baby switch reveal with EJ finally learning that Nicole had a miscarriage was awesome to watch. JS and AZ hit it out of the part.
The teen drama with Will/Chad/Mia is also very nice to watch.
I love how DAYS has interwoven all of their stories. Mia/Chad/Will are their own story but they are VERY connected to the Baby Switch that involves EJ/Sami/Nicole/Rafe. I also like how Arianna and Brady have this romance, but they two also place vital roles in the baby switch with both of them knowing the secret.
I like the other peripheral stories going on as well: Kate/Stefano, Daniel/Chloe, Bo/Hope.
It is nice to see that finally Bo/Hope will be getting a larger story now that Carly is back and it will also be interesting to find out what happened between her and Larry and exactly who it is in Salem that she is protecting.
The great use of Suzanne Rogers, who has probably gotten more screen time in 2009 than 1995 to 2008 combined is just awesome to see.
The addition of Vivian in early November is only icing on the cake.
The sorest part of the show is the lack of Abe/Lexie/Celeste. DAYS is wasting the talents of all three significantly.

Bill Paxton, Michael C. Hall and Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Lead Actor in a Drama Series)
THE TUDORS, DEXTER and BIG LOVE (Drama Series, Directing & Writing)
James Scott best work to date on this show was Friday's episode. Simply amazing. He has come a long way. Ari was OK, but it looks like her big scenes will be Mon.
Haven't comment on Lindsay Hartley on the show, but I am impressed and so happy that she has real material to work w/and is selling.
Crystal arrival was shocking, but the dialogue was blah, but this is Days. Can't wait to see more.
