I like Chloe and Nadia Bjorlin, but I think the character, or rather the need to write for her, has been mostly a distraction since Belle and Shawn left. I don't necessarily want her gone, but I'd like her serve a more useful purpose, playing on her history with either Brady (though he's got his hands full with Arianna and Nicole) or Phillip (who should be removed from the Stephanie/Melanie/Nathan story IMO).

unfortunately as long as higley's there it won't happen. she's better off at another soap. i dont think she'll leave daytime considering she's in a relationship with a soap star. look at what happened to other real life soap couples. eventually two different paths of acting can conflict in a relationship.

Ok, this is totally random.... but does anyone else think Sami and Phillip have some chemistry? ... I remember them sharing a few scenes a while back and thinking they could be a good couple (especially since they're both strong actors)... thoughts?

philip is a little young for sami, and it would be another case of near incestuous happenings, philip is her son's uncle, and he used to be her brother in law, days wouldn't do that, that i am pretty sure of.

Interesting post over in the Primetime Emmy's thread - Ratings Thread (Part IV). According to an ABC press release, originally from www.thefutoncritic.com, "Days of our Lives" ties for #9 as the Program with Most Net Total Streams (of all broadcast Web sites) with 4.1 million in September!

That's not reflected in the weekly ratings (I don't think) but it has to be a good sign to NBC, don't you think? Thoughts here from people who actually know something about ratings, etc, because I do not ...

The Top 10 Programs Total Streams (September '09)
1. Grey's Anatomy 10 mil
2. Dancing with the Stars 7.8 mil
3. The Office 7.0 mil
4. FlashForward 6.8 mil
5. Glee 6.5 mil
6. Heroes 5.6 mil
7. Vampire Diaries 5.4 mil
8. America's Got Talent 4.3 mil
9. t Days of Our Lives 4.1 mil
9. t Gossip Girl 4.1 mil

you would think

NBC has shown zero signs it wants to keep soaps going though and I remain cautious. With the economy the way it is; its cheaper to just get another talk show or court show I fear.

Hopefully, I am proven wrong though CBS if the worse happened might take DOOL and ax ATWT

Wow, that's pretty exciting news for DAYS. If nothing else, it should be a sign to the network heads that people are still showing interest in the show. And maybe they just need to mine that a little, like with some primetime specials or something.

I believe there was one called One Stormy Night in 1992. It's funny how the show changed so much between the One Stormy Night and Winter Heat. I loved those. They really should do another one. NBC's already confessed to how burdensome they find developing primetime programming to be. Ratings would probably be higher than The Jay Leno Show.

I hope the show does some good family gatherings around Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Hortons especially seem so diluted now, even though really there still are quite a few of them around. (I'm imagining Melanie getting an ornament on the Horton tree, and Julie sneering in disgust!)

But I have to say, the writing lately has been so good. I think the dialogue in the Bo and Hope scenes last week was just fantastic, and the heart-to-heart Sami was having with Chad yesterday was also great.

I could not agree more about the writing, it has really improved. The BOPE scenes last week were VERY well written AND especially acted. Alison Sweeney is just...whatelse is there to say about her, she is awesome WELL overdue for some emmy attention.

DAYS is certainly on a role..the show is quite enjoyable at the moment and the FABULOUS Louise Sorel (Vivian) is RIGHT around the corner, getting ready to wreck havoc on Carly and Kate lives...CANNOT WAIT! jumphappy

Between the heated exchanges with Hope, Carly, and Bo and the love scenes with Sami and Rafe, yesterday's episode was hot hot hot.

I absolutely loved Hope yesterday. I haven't seen this kind of fire in her in a while, and I really like the way everything was handled. Hope vs. Carly -- it's on!

I could not agree more. 'Days' is on a roll and they're doing so by telling traditional, soap stories in a traditional way.

I've loved the lengthy introduction of Carly into Salem and the pacing of Vivian's return. (On any other, rapid-paced soap today, they would have both just appeared in the Brady Pub, on the same day, at the same time.)

Also, while I think Ciara's kidnapping was a trifle forced, it has opened a floodgate of legitimate, emotional hurdles for Bo & Hope - it's not just another "we needed to find a reason to break-up this couple" storyline anymore. It has emotional depth and they mined past story for it. Carly nor Vivian has returned for plot-driven purposes either. Both are rooted in their abuse/guilt over murder and revenge of a loved on, respectively.

Finally, the baby switch storyline has to be one of the best baby switch stories ever done in Daytime. I can honestly say that I have felt for each of the characters involved (some more than others, obviously) and I think we still may have a surprise or two left in this reveal. Nice umbrella story for many cast members.

Days - have been a fan since the mid '90's, but I don't think it's ever been this good.

Today was all kinds of awesome!
Crystal brings the best out of that girl who plays Mia. More scenes with her and that baby will go far.
I am digging the guy who plays Chad. Kinda wish he was playing Will instead of that drip they got playing him.
Can't wait for the throwdown on Mon.

I am still not feeling Carly's return minus Hope and Carly scenes

the whole Lawrence psycho visions is just not that appealing to me.

I don't like Vivian's new sidekick. Love Louise Sorel but please do something with your hair

I hate Chad! I think the actor who plays Rafe is very weak; extremely blah on screen

I loved Friday's eppy. The Hope/Carly scenes have been my favorite part of her return so far, but I'm liking the story in general.

I almost fell over when Rafe busted in on Chloe and demanded, "Give me that baby!"

Taylor Spreitler (Mia) has a lot of potential. She was good with Crystal Chappell, but I thought she did maybe her best work ever on Thursday when she was talking to Maggie. Suzanne Rogers makes everyone a better actor. It's too bad Mia was only on screen for about three minutes on Thursday, or that could have been a good Emmy reel.

I can't wait to see today's!

Days did not dissapoint today. In terms of classic soap it was great and the two leading divas brought it. Epic showdown for sure!
On an aside what is u w/Lauren Koslow's hair? I could swear there's a blue streak.

It was fabulous episode

I think the actress who plays Nicole has been stellar. I have been feeling very sorry for character when I really shouldn't.

Totally agree, DLD. I was watching yesterday and saying, "I can't believe I actually feel sorry for Nicole. But I DO!" Those scenes with Nicole and Sami were just so good! The rest of the episode could have been sock puppets and I still would have loved it.

And there is for sure a blue streak in Kate's hair. It's been there for a while, since around the time she married Stefano I think.
