AMC Casts OLTL Vet
OLTL alum Laura Koffman (ex-Cassie) has been cast as Rebecca, the woman from Jesse's (Darnell Williams) past that he recently confessed his involvement with to Angie (Debbi Morgan). There are, however, some pertinent details that Jesse left out, and they are sure to complicate the Hubbards' marriage when Rebecca comes to Pine Valley on October 28 — and comes face-to-face with Angie.

Discuss.

Woo hoo! This is some of the most exciting casting news of the year. Laura Koffman has been greatly missed since leaving OLTL as Cassie. I say this often regarding AMC these days, but it bears repeating: Don't screw it up!

"A movie is not good because it arrives at conclusions you share, or bad because it does not. A movie is not about what it is about. It is about how it is about it: about the way it considers its subject matter, and about how its real subject may be quite different from the one it seems to provide."
- Roger Ebert, from the introduction to "Awake in the Dark" (2006)

YES! I've loved Koffman since Cassie was almost drowned by Alex in Loon Lake!

My question is, when is the damn tornado happening???

It should be huge; I doubt it will be as good, dramatically or have as much of an effect on the canvas as the '94 twister but I'm still looking forward to it.

And also b/c the 94 tornado felt like a real tornado.
I was watching clips on Youtube the other day and who knew a giant fan, good writing (McTavish's first run), directing, and acting could be so effective.

I can see AMC screwing this up. Jake and Taylor haven't had any real story since their arrival. If OLTL won't bring Koffman back, they should woo Martha Byrne.

You are right!!! That was great writing, acting, and directing, in sync, which created powerful drama. MM was so good during her first run what happened to her? Felicia Minei Behr did reign her in but that does not explain the horridness of her later head writing stints at AMC.

OMG Laura Koffman is an INCREDIABLE actress. she can take any scene and give it life beyond the words on the page. She and Robin Strasser were always tremendous together.

I just may have to start watching OLTL again.

Congrats to Kathy Griffin on her second consecutive emmy win!

You'll have to watch AMC to see Koffman again.

I have been begging OLTL to bring back Koffman. She was fantastic as Cassie. Her face lit up the screen. Now I am going to have to watch AMC which kind of sucks.

Actually AMC has been quite good lately, and I'm impressed with this latest development.

What luck for rulers that men do not think.

Aww. As glad as I am to have Koffman back on daytime, I'd much rather see her on OLTL. I gave up on AMC a long time ago.

The only problem with Jake and Taylor is that they don't work as a couple and the show seems to want to pursue that based on the GL history. The two characters just don't work together. Keep Jake with Amanda and see who Taylor works with. She needs someone to brighten her up since they gave her such a dark backstory.

I'm starting to give phases to the history of AMC.

- Phase 1:
From the beginning until about 2000 will be the glory years. The can't miss days in Pine Valley.

- Phase 2:
2000 until 2008. Very bad time. Very few bright spots. Most notable bright spot in this time is the Leo/Greenlee saga and the character of Bianca. Pretty much everything else went downhill.

- Phase 3:
Mid-2008 until [hopefully] the present. Pine Valley is improving. The show has fine tuned its writing, but true fans of the show realize their glory days will never return. Characters such as as Liza, Dixie, Brooke, Janet, Trevor, Julia, Noah, Hayley, Mateo, Dimitri and so many others are gone. It's time to move on.

Congrats Emmy winners
Bryan Cranston, Glenn Close, Zelko Ivanek, 30 Rock, Alec Baldwin, Recount, Cynthia Nixon, Kathy Griffin

Oscars 09 FYC
'The Visitor' in all major categories. Truly the best film of 2008 thus far.

I'd go so far as to say that there is no need for Beth Ehlers on AMC. Her character adds nothing and they could have used that money to lure back an actor who had stronger fan support and ties to existing characters. The character of Jake has always been poorly written and Goldin is his usual erratic self. Why try to recreate a relationship between actors/characters that means nothing to most AMC viewers?

I've always liked Jake as a character (Michael Lowry being the actor i liked best in the role) but i feel he doesn't work without characters like Liza around. I loved Jake and Liza

Ehlers should've played Liza Colby. Pratt wanted to create a new character but Liza's return would've been more beneficial to the show.
