I share in your renewed enthusiasm and absolutely glee over the "new" Y&R on era. I just pray to God I'm not let down. I've been a loyal fan since the Sheila/Lauren days in 1992 - as a meek 9-year-old - and I look forward to having the soap I fell in love with back with vengeance.

Good god I hope this Y&R stuff lives up to expectation!
Totally agree with you about B&B and certainly about the Nick/Bridget wedding. It is so wrong on so many levels. This show has been chock full of twisted relationships, but Bridget and Katie's is getting to be one of the worst.
If Bridget would have been trying to be a bitch and stick it to Katie by forcing her to perform the ceremony, that might have been a little better. Instead, we get force fed more of one of the worst triangles in the history of B&B. What makes this storyline even worse, aside from the fact that no combo of the three of them share any on-screen chemistry at all, is that they're all trying to be so sweet and noble about it. If a love triangle is going to be interesting, then 1 of the 2 people that are fighting over the 3rd party have to get down and dirty with some deceitful antics. When it comes to this triangle, Katie is a whiny brat, Bridget is a spineless weakling, and Nick is a boring scumbag. To be blunt, it sucks all the way around, and since its the main focus of B&B, the show sucks right now too.
I'm really excited about what Y&R has coming up. I too heard Thom Racinas interview over the weekend and based on his experience and talents, I feel really good that our socks are about to be knocked off.
Has anyone else noticed how Maria Bell sets stuff up is very reminiscent of the Bill Bell days? If we get everything we are promised, I will eat all the pessimistic words I've written about the show the past few months.
I realize MAB and co. have not had an easy task. In some ways its like starting from scratch. The previous regime had no long term stories set up, so in essence, they've had to come in and build from the the ground up. I'm not saying it's been easy watching (not bad, just boring), but it sounds like the roller coaster is built and we're in place for a hellave ride. Let the glory days begin!!!!!!!!
wow you are very fickeled aren't you... two months ago you were praising OLTL for being the best soap of the year and now you're saying nothing that Ron C wrote can compete with one day's worth of ATWT? but hey to each their own, i still adore you.

I have not been a fan of RC's writing post-2007. And as you've noticed I've called him out several times, and I've been quiet on the show lately for a reason.
I'm glad the Nelson recognized that ATWT episode. It was quite brilliant and he was spot on in his critism that that eppy could have been a Emmy reel if not the whole Paul/Meg/Barbara saga with the Sophie murder.
I'm sure that with this weeks upcoming episodes, ATWT will be on Fire with the Holden/Carly reveal!

I liked the Margo-Emily showdown but I'm still having problems with the motivation. Am I really supposed to buy that Super Cop Margo despite all the problems Emily has caused throughout the years for her would pull the gun from her holster to scare the tramp who's laid down with EVERY male in her family? Uh...I mean the drama was fabulous but the writing's just not tight enough. I wish they could have done more with Margo to build to the breaking point I mean a snap like that I don't see just happening from the buildup of years og anger...that would be at the root of it but usually a person would have to have a lot going on in the current state to flip into outerspace. Its good stuff but not the prose it's being made out to be.

Nelson criticised Maura West's Emmy submissions for being the same old stuff, and this is what I feel about the Emily and Casey relationship. It's another example of the writers humiliating the character. Has she learned anything? Will it make her change? Of course not. Am I supposed to care if she has feelings for Casey? Ellen Dolan is the only making this watchable.
I don't think ATWT has been better than OLTL lately. The veterans (Dolan, Hubbard, Masters) have been making ATWT tolerable but otherwise, the show is still in the dumps.
Out of the vets. on ATWT I can see Dolan, Holmes, and Pinter up for prenominations b/c they are making the show work in each of their storylines.
