I know that the pre-noms haven't yet been announced but what episodes do the shows, writer's, director's, and actors and actresses need to submit or not submit to get a nomination.
I am still catching up on months worth of viewing, which is what happens when you work way to much, and will post some comments later.

Bree Williamson should submit the episode where she gives birth. She and Erika Slezak work brilliantly together in that episode.
B&B should submit the Storm Logan suicide storyline for Drama, Writing, Directing, Supporting Actor (William deVry, ex-Storm), Supporting Actress (Heather Tom, Katie), & Lead Actress (Katherine Kelly Lang, Brooke).

Drama series: episode where the plane crashes and Shawn dies
and
Bo and hope renewing their wedding vows.
Writing: plane crash + shawn's death
and
Nicole's noir fantasy
Directing: Nicole's noir fantasy
Lead/ supporting actress: Arianne Zuker
she should submit 2 of the 3 episodes listed below
1. her comical entrance back into the show
2. her noir fantasy
3. her miscarriage
Outstanding younger actor: Darin Brooks
he should submit:
1. an episode from when he visited Shawn's grave
2. the episode where he confronts trent on being his dad.
outstanding younger actress: Rachel Melvin
she should submit 2 of the 4 listed below.
1. the episode where kate finds her drunk in the bar.
2. her episode by Bo's bedside during his surgery.
3. her episode where she finds out she can't have kids.
4. her episode where she has the confrontation with nick and Melanie at thr java cafe.
I feel those are the mainly only 3 most deserving actors/ actresses from dool for a nomination this year.
Let me rephrase that Lauren koslow had good scenes with her cancer storyline, and peggy mckay had good scenes with shawn's death, and the up and comings around trent's death...but i feel the other 3 ( considering 2 were nommed last year ) have the best chance at getting nommed for their worthiness.

If GUIDING LIGHT has any shot in hell of being nominated for 2008 (one of its worst years on record); they have 5 tapes that could get them that nomination. That's it - 5 tapes. Any other selection of tapes would be a death knell.
They are: .Jan. 29, 2008 The day Lizzie Spaulding and most GL fans had been waiting for exactly a year to experience. Jonathan lets Lizzie see her baby, as she realizes they're alive.
February 13, 2008
Alan breaks into Jonathan and Lizzies room and holds baby Sarah. Later, at the Bauer cabin, Alan tries to kidnap baby Sarah from Jonathan, but when Lizzie realizes what is going on she stops as nothing to keep Sarah away from Jonathan.
Meanwhile, Beth & Rick name their newly born daughter Bernadette Bauer as Josh begins to doubt whether he can do the baptism or not, knowing that Bernadette is really Alan Spaulding's daughter. Josh asks Steven Rutledge to do the ceremony, but still agrees to be the babies got father, along with Cassie, who is having a tough time of her own with Will. Just as the baptism gets underway, Alan enters the church followed by Lizzie and Jonathan, who is packing a gun. Alan takes the gun from Jonathan in a fit of rage as Reva runs infront of Jonathan to block Alan from shooting her son and tells him it doesnt have to end like this. Alan screams he has nothing in the world to live for and Reva, trying to protect her son, tells Alan he does, that the baby Beth is holding is really his and not Ricks!
July 21, 2008 The Reva/Josh Cross Creek wedding is on full display as the "Always" movie rehearses the upcoming nuptuals. As Josh & Reva watch more and more of the day they each fondly remember, along with the viewers, they start to wonder why they ever parted in the first place. Kim & Robert, along with the dialouge of todays show were simply put, some of the best work GL has done in a VERY long time!
July 28, 2008 The baby Max storyline comes to a head as St. Victor and Ray played their roles very well as the parents of the little boy in question. St. Victor was stern in his desire to see his child, and although this was Ray's last appearance on the show, she was effective showing post partum depression.
August 4, 2008 Baby Max dies; Bill is upset that Max is dead

I still think DAYS should consider that episodes from August where Stefano trapped all those people in the hospital and started pumping that gas in. For one thing, the episodes, especially, if I recall, the first two, were well done in terms of production and acting and even scripting. The scenes involves most of the shows bests talents all working nicely together. Also, this seems like exactly the kind of thing that General Hospital would win for.
for gh's sarah brown..... 1.the fake testimony at johnny's trial 9/12 2. the outcome of michael's shooting that led to her confrontation with devlin and then breaking down in the limo to johnny 4/8 3. a bit risky, but the argument over her childhood past and her father's hate for her 7/7. weltz is the only thing wrong with that as he makes it cartoonish.
for gh's laura wright 1.learning that jake is jason's and confronting liz 1/8 2.confronting jason about jake1/9 3.michael's shooting4/7 4.ripping into sonny for choosing kate over michael4/11 5.breaking down by michael's bedside4/25 6.after having comfort sex with sonny and handing him papers to sign his rights over m&m to her 5/19 7.agreeing to have michael under professional care 5/15, 5/16 8.sometime in september when jax broke up with her after finding out about her and sonny's 5/16 romp.
This is one of two shows, B&B being the other I watch daily. Everything else I record.
For show, they can do back to back episodes of Michael's shooting, or two different from that storyline, or an episode of Michael's shooting, and a episode from Robin/Patrick wedding part1. For Laura Wright and Maurice Benard any scenes from Michael's shooting, Anthony Geary can submit the courtroom dream where he is every character(judge, bailiff, etc), but needs to find another episode, and I do not know if he has it. Rebecca Herbst can submit episodes from Jake's kidnapping, and I think Julie Berman can submit from when she killed Logan, and went crazy, and from Laura's return. Kirsten Storms can submit episodes from earlier in the year revolving around Georgie's death.
For B&B
I agree that anything anyone can submit from Storm's death could garner them a nomination. For show however I wonder if they will submit all episodes from then, cause if they don't I am not sure they can get a nom, cause other than this storyline, they had nothing. William deVry is absolutely fabulous and deserves a nomination, and Heather Tom in my opinion can submit any number of the episodes from Storms death and get a nom. The eulogy is in my opinon the best episodes. I think KKL may finally get a long overdue nomination. She has such strong tapes as well from Storm's death.
Other performances that standout to me, AMC's Debbie Morgan, and Darnell Williams, must submit Angie, and Jesse's wedding. Melissa Egan impressed me as crazy Annie, and I think she can submit many episodes that can get her a nomination.
I will post more once I can watch some more of my recorded episodes.

DeVry, Lang, and Tom were all fantastic during the Storm's Suicide storyline, and hopefully they'll be recognized for it. But I don't think Brad Bell is necessarily wise enough to know that these are the episodes he should send in. Some producers amaze me with their choices of episodes, but this is a clear case where the show has nothing but this to rely on. Any other choice would be a mistake.
As strong as Heather Tom's work was in the eulogy episode, I still think her "money" tape is the one where she argues with Brooke & Donna and is absolutley disgusted with what Storm did...she generates so much power and emotion in those scenes with no body language to rely on (she's just laying there!) and purely driving those scenes with words and genuine facial reactions/mannerisms ...she wiped KKL & JG off the screen....I still get goosebumps thinking of her screaming coward in reference to Storm. That should be enough to get her a nomination...enough to win? Hard to say.
thanks to sarah brown going lead, she should have that wrapped up. i only wonder if rebecca herbst could possibly pull off an upset nod and win because every other year someone from gh usually wins here. and also, even though its dool, i really wouldnt rule out tamara braun, the fact that her own show can vote for her is pretty much a guarantee she is nominated. but how can rh or tb possibly take this emmy away. if tom doesnt win this, i dont think she can win anymore at all.
Heather Tom was good, but her biggest advantage over some of the other really good contenders is that she had so many strong episodes. But since they're only submitting one reel, she kind of loses that. Braun was great on DAYS, but I really only remember her having one or two episodes that would make good, strong reels. But that's all she needed. This helps someone like Ari Zucker as well, who has one clear standout episode and now doesn't have to worry about making a mistake in choosing a second one. There's only one to pick, so the choice is clear. Tom picking her best episode will be a lot harder.
KS GH She hasn't had a consistent yr or much material but if she gets the nomination I think she should submit these
The Breakdown at Kelly Hands down the best performance from a younger sctress this yr to me
The one where she tried to pull the plug on Logan
Then that soulful conversation on the rooftop after she didn't do it I think about how it didn't take her pain away
The one I think from Nov when she is at Robin's bedside talking to her while she is in coma about how she has to live Emma wouldn't understand & drawing from both Her & Robin's history of being abandoned by there parents.
LW GH Micheal's Shooting Esp the one where she breaks down wth Micheals clothes in Jason arms in the hospital.LW really proved wth that just how great she can be.
I agree w/all of the metions for Laura Wright. She literally broke my heart in those scenes and was the only person who really made that story resonate w/me. She deserves a nomination over Kim Zimmer (who I am afriad will get in again).
