Oh, I think you're way off on some of these. DePaiva...not a chance. Grazeidei, not a chance...especially at a win. Mark my words. Neither will be nominated. We also will not see a lot of love for AMC or GL this year.
GIVE MERYL #3!!!!

Lately I find that the most accurate way to predict the Emmy nominations is to predict the names who will make you want to pull your hair out, then predict everyone from Y&R and no one from OLTL. Whatever slots you have left, distribute them at random to CBS.
That's usually how it usually works anyway.

"A movie is not good because it arrives at conclusions you share, or bad because it does not. A movie is not about what it is about. It is about how it is about it: about the way it considers its subject matter, and about how its real subject may be quite different from the one it seems to provide." - Roger Ebert, from the introduction to "Awake in the Dark" (2006)
DePaiva was nominated before. Yep, I agree 742 for my WILLs I chose people who I would hate to be nominated! LOL! Anyway, I don't have reel info, so that'll change things down the road. And don't count out Graz — he is well loved and respected in the biz — and he was nominated previously in the past in Younger.

and what about Brittany Underwood (Langston), for awhile she was getting as much airtime as Alderson and Fumero and she DEFINETLY has proved herself as an actress that can hold her own against heavy-weights like Strasser and De Pavia and sometimes even outshine them.
Praying The Daytime Emmys air on TV in 2010!

I'm surprised there was no mention of Alley Mills in your should/will list. Am I mistaken, or don't you really like her? I would be so happy to see her make the final round.
As for AMC, it deserves only two nominations, and those are Debbi Morgan and Darnell Williams. Jacob Young had a couple of standout tapes, but he's an inconsistent actor.
On the OLTL end I'm really pulling for Haskell, Lavoisier, Watkins (especially him), Brier and both Eddie and Kristen Alderson. ...but the Academy is so mean to this show when it comes to acting nominations, so we will see.
Notice the love for past/present AMCers? - Daniel Cosgrove (Bill, GL; ex-Scott, AMC) - Tamara Braun (ex-Ava, DAYS; Reese, AMC) - Amelia Heinle (Victoria, Y&R; ex-Mia, AMC) - William deVry (ex-Storm, B&B; ex-Michael, AMC) - Jeff Branson (Shayne, GL; ex-Jonathan, AMC)
All good performers who were smart to get off of AMC (watch it Tamara...this show tends to ruin its female performers).
--Morgan
2009 Primetime Emmys Congrats to Glenn Close, Toni Collette, Kristin Chenoweth, Jessica Lange and Shohreh Aghdashloo! Better luck next year Gabriel Byrne, Michael C. Hall, Kyra Sedgwick, Aaron Paul, Rose Byrne, Steve Carell, Jim Parsons, Mary-Louise Parker, NPH, Rainn Wilson and Elizabeth Perkins. BOOOOOOO to Jon Cryer. Worst. Win. Ever.

Jess Walton was the ultimate in supporting actresses last year so to see her off the "shameful ommisions" was disappointing. She didn't have her own storyline or love interest, but supported several storylines and did a fantastic job with each one. I'd have put her right next to Elizabeth Hendrickson on the ballot and no one else even came close.
Also...William deVry was flawless and you don't even think his performances would merit a pity nod? That worries me! I know the guy has little chance of being remembered this late in the game, but he was *so* good. I would love to see B&B shock everyone with Katherine Kelly Lang and deVry making a splash based on Storm's suicide.

Dont count out Depaiva. She is always a strong contender. It takes 2 great tapes and the baby storyline and hospital scenes are great to submit.

I'll be pulling first and foremost for All My Children's Debbi Morgan to be nominated, and win, for best actress—20 years after this exquisite vet became the first African-American female (and only one to date), who won the 1988-89 Daytime Emmy as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (in a tie with General Hospital's Nancy Lee Grahn, awarded for her work on Santa Barbara).
For one particular soap, AMC, Darnell Williams, Melissa Claire Egan, Cornelius Smith, and Daniel Kennedy merit nominations along with Morgan.
I want to see One Life to Live justly compensated with a few performance nominations that would amount to a few more acting slots beyond the tokenism granted to it in last year's race.
Let's see CBS' monopoly on acting noms—particularly in lead actress—put on ice.
I would like to see a few actors, routinely taken for granted, break through with overdue nominations: Days of Our Lives' Blake Berris, GH's Kirsten Storms, and OLTL's Tuc Watkins, to name three.
Overall the real concern is this: When will we know, officially, if there will be a Daytime Emmy awards ceremony?

Actually, I think Nelson said it only takes one great tape.
Much as I hate judging a year's worth of work on such a small sample, this is probably a good thing. Where last year people would have had to watch two reels from three actors from each of the nine shows (that's 54 reels!) per category, this year it's only one reel from two actors from eight shows (only 16 reels). I'm feeling confident that people will actually watch them and nominate more fairly than last year. Here's hoping . . .

I think overall ABC had the better performances last yr and it'll be a sin and a shame if Susan Haskell, Debbi Morgan, and Laura Wright missed out on a nomination in favor for the Gina Tognoni (whose one of my faves and I am proud of for going Lead, but what does she have?), Maura West (another one who I love, but seriously! She won, which was a good win, for playing "woman scorn Carly" nomed last yr. for playing "fake dying" Carly, and if nomed this yr. it'll be for playing either "homewrecker Carly" or "drunk Carly"), and that Kim Zimmer (who went out on a good note for winning and did a good job w/the Wedding stuff, but seriously!). And I am still puzzled by the love of Michael G. He is a good actor, but what did he do last yr and I doubt it would win him the Emmy eps if his material when he was eligible for Younger Actor which was better never won him anything. The rest I am sorta in agreeance w/u. I am glad that you and the DC gang gave a shout out to Daniel Kennedy who is one of the best Younger actors on Daytime right now. I think the Younger acting categories will have six noms.

And another thing, can you or anyone else tell me what Emily O'Brien did last yr. that would even warrent a nomination? I think she's a damn good actress (got a kick that she's a Brit but the accent isn't even real!), but I can't think of anything she did that would warrent a nom, but once again these are the Daytime Emmys.

Suzanne Rogers only had a few good scenes towards the end of the year with her scenes with nick, the shameful omission from days for 2008 supporting actress SHOULD be, Peggy Mckay, not suzanne rogers, just thought i'd point that out, so far suzanne rogets is definitely a contender for 2009 however.

Nel...i said this before, but i just can't feel the love for Graz on Y&R. He did nothing in 2008 that warrants a nom...ditto Adrienne Frantz and Emily O'Brien.
And how sad is it that daytime has to recycle the same old talent each year....especially in the likes of Bryton McClure, who, to this day, should not be an Emmy winner. I hope Blake Berris walks away with that award.
And you know, once again, Nel....i'm holding out hope for KKL.....I know, i know....i'm a glutton for punishment.
