Confidential reports that Y&R only gave MTS a short term deal to facilitate Victor's removal from Y&R. Now Sony is saying she gets recurring or nothing else, but MTS wants a contract with the show.
If this is the case then everything was strategically planned to get rid of their 2 top stars since Days didn't tank when John and Marlena were written out. Someone needs to step in at Y&R at stop the madness. MAB, Rauch, Bloom, Moonves, CBS and Sony are running Y&R to the ground.
I agree with you, Mark. I have finally given up on Y&R. There are so many more productive ways I could be spending that hour every day.
I always thought that Y&R would be the soap to survive the longest and be the final remaining soap on the air, but now I think the show with that distinction will either be "Bold & Beautiful" (inexplicably) or "General Hospital" (abominably).
I think Y&R will be gone within 5-10 years. Oh, Bill Bell, it's a good thing you aren't around to see what they've done to your beloved show.
its now time for john smith to come back. he's the only one who can save this show or bringing on a new writer that is talented and has had past success.
This just totally bums me out. I don't give a sh*t about what happened over at DAYS and these Sony execs shouldn't either. This is YR. The cream of the crop. The best show. Number 1. You don't come this far by disingenuously coming to your top stars and forcing this upon them in a cold hard demeanor. And then to know these execs were only going to forcibly bumb MTS to recurring in the end is so incredibly frustrating to me.
Someone needs to step in now. The show is in trouble.
This whole debacle is completely f*cking outrageous.
