First Citation of 2007: would you like us to include a category as well?
January 1st, 2007 Days of our Lives Supporting Actress Julie Pinson (Billie) Billie falls off the wagon after receiving a letter from Steve and takes comfort in Nick. Julie Pinson was great as Billie finally breaks down after experiencing yet another heartbreak.
Just to add two cents to the issue of "category" - It doesn't bother me, but I don't consider it completely necessary to list. If we cite a bunch of episodes for an actor and call him a "supporting actor" and then the actor competes as a lead actor instead, it doesn't really affect the quality of the submission.
"A movie is not good because it arrives at conclusions you share, or bad because it does not. A movie is not about what it is about. It is about how it is about it: about the way it considers its subject matter, and about how its real subject may be quite different from the one it seems to provide." - Roger Ebert, from the introduction to "Awake in the Dark" (2006)

January 2nd, 2007 The Young and the Restless Lead Actress Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor) Katherine and Jill discuss Kay's nightmares, but Kay wants Jill to stay out of it. Later Katherine confides in her best friend Nikki Newman as to what she remembers. Kay believes that during her drunken state she switched baby Phillip, and replaced him with another child. Jeanne Cooper was divine today. So subtle, yet so very effective. She did a good job with her scenes and was able to let those tears flow. Kudos Ms. Cooper!
January 2nd, 2007 The Young and the Restless Supporting Actress Tracey Bregman (Lauren Fenmore) Paul visits a distressed Lauren I forgot to add this but I thought Tracey was great here. She did great displaying Lauren's anxiety, and then happiness upon Paul's arrival. The emotion in Tracey's eyes, and her body language alone, made the scenes worthwhile.

I have now made my skidmark onto the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Submission page.
January 3, 2007 Guiding Light Best Supporting Actress- Gina Tognoni Best Drama Series Best Writing
Dinah does a story, where a note with some money left is found in Springfield. The note says, "Find Your Light".
It was a warm and tender episode, and deserving of Emmy attention. If the voters would be smart and turn away from the Emmy whores over at General Hospital, then GL would control their own destiny in the Emmy race (I wish it was like that ratingswise).
ROBBED: The Brilliance of Guiding Light, celebrating 71 years on the air. So, folks over at General Thugspital, fork over that Drama Series Emmy and bring it to Springfield, where it truly belongs!

First off, that GL episode was what I believed to be the early emmy frontrunner.....I was wrong. I was dissapointed. Gina needs to steer clear of submitting this next year.
WEDNSDAY, JANUARY 3RD THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
Lead Actress: Michelle Stafford My reasons for citing this is the unbelievable range stafford shows as phyllis and sheila. One minute she plays Sheila who is acting like Phyllis trying to escape, and the next looking at herself in the mirror talking to herself. And then she plays Phyllis. It wasnt a winning reel exactly, but its nomination worthy and the second best of the lead actress bunch so far of the year.
AS THE WORLD TURNS
Lead Actress: Maura West Carly proclaims her love for another man to Jack, and wants to know if the children, especially Parker, will find out when she is being arrested. This reel is much like the two breakup episodes last year, and is the best lead actress reel so far this year.

January 4th, 2007 DAYS OF OUR LIVES Lead Actress Deidre Hall Marlena stands her ground when it comes to John and refuses to believe he won't pull through.
I was glad to see Deidre back to told form and not so over the top in her acting.
I have to admit it...with my new effort to keep track of more soaps this year, I saw the transexual story on amc, I must say it the actor has quite some one liners.
Thursday, Jan 4th
ALL MY CHILDREN
Supporting Actor: Jeffery Carson I have to admit I was sold on it. Loved how he cried on Babe's shoulders begging her to help him. I was quite entertained by this story and character today.
Isn't it time though for Kelli Kiddish, Colin Egglesfield, and even Jeff Bransen to go? AMC also looks much like fusion 2003 again.
AS THE WORLD TURNS
I now am going to keep an eye on Columbino. since Katie has turned bi##hy she has been much more fun to watch, much like her 2000 nom year.

Ashley and Jack fight about his ownership of Jabot. Ashley tells Jack she won't be his puppet anymore and almost tells Victor about Jack's secret.
This definitely showed Eileen at her best and I'm sad to see her leave. I thought she was excellent especially in the scene where Victor plays with her mind. The range of emotion that Eileen shows is amazing.

^See I was going to cite Eileen Davidson, but by next time this week she'll unfortunately be off the show, so I didn't bother.
January 5th, 2007 The Young and the Restless Lead Actress Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor) Katherine tells Jill that she gave away her son Phillip in one of her drunken states. Jeanne Cooper has been on fire this week. She is 79 years old and still rocking it. JC was great at showing Katherine's hurt over what she had done. Her emotion ranged from hurt, to anger, to sadness.
January 5th, 2007 Days of our Lives Supporting Actress Martha Madison (Belle Black) Belle struggles to give away her baby to child services. Martha Madison was good today, and I felt her character's pain. MM did a fabulous job showing a distressed mother ordered to release her daughter to the court system.
I also thought B&B's fashion show today was delish.

The last scene of the episode was enough for me to cite this...Jack arrests Carly for aiding and abetting a fugitive.
I'm probably the only person who thinks that West's pregnancy will be written into the show.

As the World Turns January 8, 2007
Lead Actor- Michael Park Lead Actress- Maura West
Jack arrests Carly; Carly says goodbye to her children (what happened to Parker & JJ?); Jack takes Carly down to the station.

January 8th, 2007 The Young and the Restless Best Actress Jess Walton (Jill Foster Abbott) Jill tries to make sense of her mother (Katherine Chancellor) revelation that she gave her son away, and replaced it with another babyPowerful scene by Jess Walton when Jill grabs Katherine's face and yells to her. Walton hit all the right notes today.

Can GH ever give Laura Wright a dramatic episode? She almost had it 3/4 of the way and then it was that annoying mother of Jax's, and then her annoying son.
Tuesday, January 9 AS THE WORLD TURNS
Supporting Actress: Kelly Hensley
Not the first half, but she brought it on in the second half when she learned craig is going to oust her from the intruder by shutting the company down. You could see her intensity when she vowed craig won't take her paper. Secondary reel at best.

There wasnt anything comical today, and Laura was terrific. Although it shows range to a more compellling eppy she should have later this year. Carly tried to talk her way out of marrying Sonny and begging Alexis for help and then to learn she has to testify against Sonny shooting Alcazar, or be charged as an accessory. And what a week fo Laura, she finally is getting the material she deserves. I still consider this to be a secondary reel.
And believe it or not, LW does have emmy worthy reels for last year...such as Courtney's death and when her (Courtney) baby was fighting for his life. I consider Laura a lead for next year based on the recent direction, but this year she should be supporting if she has any shot of a nomination.
And now it looks like Julie Berman is going to be like Jennifer Landon of ATWT last year. If they make Lulu into a supercouple magnet with Dillon, that will take away from her character just like it did Gwen on ATWT.
