I don't know if this was the person Nelson was referring to awhile back, but I was on the SON message board and I read that someone who know someone who know that person's cousin (yall get what I mean) said that Y&R is wanting to recast the role of Drucilla Winters w/someone who looks like Victoria Rowell. All I have to say is what? Now if they were going to get Kimberly Elise I wouldn't be as mad b/c she a fantastic actress and Maria loves to cast out of Daytime so she'll be perfect. And I can also see Amelia Marshall (ex-Liz Passions, ex-Belinda, AMC & ex-Gilly, GL) as a pretty good Dru recast. But anyone besides that I don't know. And since Y&R is in trouble ratings wise and creativley when it comes to the black storylines, why wouldn't they be able to kill two bird w/one stone and have everyone have a come to Jesus moment and come to an agreement on both sides and get Victoria back. I think she'll be able to bring viewers back and lets face it she was the force of those storylines for yrs. But like I said this is all rumors at this pt.

Well I have no idea if it's true or not, but Amelia Marshall would be a great Drucilla recast. She's an amazing actress- she even made "Passions" writing look good! The worst thing "GL" ever did for her was nix the Alan-Michael/Gilly pairing...it was on course to be a great supercouple.

She's versatile, beautiful and can act the hell out of pretty much any material she's given...go for it "Y&R"!

I think they may recast Mac too. Old Heather scripts being sent around are said to be for another high-profile role and it sounds like it's Mac.

Marshall would be a fine pick but they need Rowell back. And they need to stop sheltering the black characters. This does not make Paul Rauch look good. He has had plenty of experience in the past (with OLTL) of getting rid of black characters.

i dont think there is an intentional shut out of black characters, shemar moore put y&r in this hole with his leaving the show and there enough complaints about the characters of tyra, devon, lily, and anna and y&r has responded by not giving them much airtime. neil seems to be the only one watchable but you cant have him in a major story without involving one of those characters save ana. its more to do with the fact that the talented black actors arent showing up for daytime roles, or the soaps are ignoring casting them.

and belinda marshall as dru? i dont know about how that would work. dominique jennings had a dru-like vibe when she played virginia on sunset beach and could maybe be a good fit for this role. though she does have a too edgy look.

I forgot all about Dominique. Her imdb page shows some work in recent years. I can definitely see her as Dru.

I think it's been made clear by Nelson and others that the ship has sailed on Rowell...the character is sorely needed on the show, and there is no role that can't be recast.

I wouldn't be surprised if they recasted Dru or Nikki.

If ATWT can recast Lily, then Y&R can recast Dru and Nikki.

The question is whether the recast will work, and if the fans will be happy. Will the recast be a Sharon Case or a Amelie Heinle?

Good point! I'm sure it had more to do with her character, but I just couldn't stand Amelia Marshall on Passions. Liz was one of the worst characters that show created. I do like Dominique Jennings, though.

I am glad that Y&R isn't pushing useless/irritating characters like Tyra, Devon, and Ana in our faces all the time, but they could also improve the characters and give them more purpose. We've been saying the same things about the Kevin/Jana/Amber/Daniel quad, and they still get plenty of airtime. The sequestering of the black cast isn't about giving fans what they want. There just seems to be a real problem figuring out what to do with these characters. Neil is best away from Tyra and co. and interacting with people like Nina and Katherine. I'm liking Lily a little more now, actually, and she and Cane deserve each other. I could enjoy Tyra if she got involved in something more interesting, like maybe Newman, Jabot, or even Restless Style having her work with them on products/ads/articles relating to women of color or single mothers or minorities who come from underprivileged backgrounds or something. The character isn't hopeless, but she definitely needs to develop and exist beyond just Neil, Ana, and Devon.

well i heard that eva has been bumped to recurring. as for ck, well if she's gotten better, that wont last long, lily is going to have cancer and push cane away again based on a spoiler i read.

Do not bring back Drucilla unless Rowell reprises the roll, plain and simple. I would rather have Ana and Tyra just leave town and let Neil find a new love.

We know Melody is staying, so all is well with Nikki.

My guess is the major recast is either Mac or Victoria. I hope it's not Mac because the character is not even needed on the show. I say send Mac back to Africa and let her live there with her dad.

We know Heather Tom will be in the midst of a love affair with Don Diamont's Bill on B&B (big mistake if you ask me, but this is Brad Bell we're talking about, and we all know his track record).

But i believe Heinle is safe. If they were going to get rid of her, they would have done it by now.

I say the possible recast could be Heather, with Vail Bloom getting the axe. Maybe the writers feel like a new Heather will help offset the new Adam...however, they've written Adam into such a corner, i feel his time on the show may be short lived anyway.

As for Sharon Case...maybe she is fed up with the way the writers have TOTALLY destroyed her character. I used to love Sharon, but they have turned her into a whiny, neurotic flaky bitch, i can't even stand her anymore.

I would like to recommend Wanda Sykes. Yeah, she'll be busy with her new show but I just love her. She could bring her sassy ways to the role of Dru.

Is Dru Coming Back?
Nothing definitive but with Lily in personal crisis it might be the time for Dru to return. VR says that she is open to returning for a limited run and that MAB knows it. They are both businesswomen and VR is sure that when the time is right MAB will get in touch with her. She cannot comment on whether there have been any feelers yet.

I would hope that both sides would come to an agreement and this will happen.
