Oh man..i would love for that to happen. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
Tika Sumptner was great the past few days this week too.
Uh, do you guys really think Melissa Archer & Bree Williamson could make that story remotely as compelling as the 2 emmy-winning chicks did?

I am taking this storyline as it is a great nod to history and if great performances comes out of it that the icing on the cake.

did erin torpey expose bree williamson or what a few weeks ago. she is much better and not as made up as bree. also, she doesnt have a halloween costume for every moment like bree's jessica does.
The 1968 storyline would have been OK for 2 or 3 days, but it's run its course, IMHO.
Agreed. I would've even taken a couple of weeks just because it was so darn clever and fun to watch. Robert S Woods and JPL have been a hoot but enough is enough! After that debacle that has been Mendorra which Ive been most critical of and continue to loathe even having to fast forward through the garbage and every B actor on the show(only Melissa Archer missing) who are involved in it. What a difference a real actor makes....did anyone else catch how Andrea Evans toned it WAY down beautifully with her scenes with Viki? They both just shined and glowed and worked off each other very eloquantly. Ron needs to get back to all human drama on the show. IMO Starr's pregnancy umbrella is already arguably the best storyline of 2008 and only looks to be getting better; the chilling scenes that have transpired between Todd and Marty only deepen the conflicts of the whole umbrella. I read somewhere that Marty will regain her memory and turn the tables on Todd. I think she regains her memory and doesn't let him know all the while toying with him or something like that. That's what I'm talking about Ron.....human drama! BTW...Anything less than Farrah Fawcet in The Burning Bed will not be accteptable if you ask me after Todd's latest mental assult on Marty and her psyche.
For Your Cosideration Outstanding Drama Series One Life To Live

Williamson is not bad with her D.I.D performances. And with Strasser and Slezak in the mix..then yeah...i think they could pull off this story.
The actual being in 1968 doesn't bother me, and I like getting the little history lessons, a few things about it are bothering me. The phone calls to the present are just ridiculous. The fact that they acknowledge that everyone in 1968 looks like someone they know in 2008 is ridiculous. And up to now, there doesn't seem to be much point to it. I would find it so cheesy if they actually did anything to change the present, and if they don't change anything, then this is really just a waste of time.
And the idea of Bree Williamson and Melissa Archer playing out a locked in the secret room type of story actually frightens me.

I don't think Natalie and Jared are going to end up in the secret room. I think Tina is going to discover it first, forcing Tess to lock her up down there.

I hope that's the case, zackfins. That sounds alot more interesting to me.

I'd like to see Tina expose Tess and take her down. I am happy to see Tina getting to interact with more members of the cast, and I'd really love for her to open everyone's eyes to what's going on. They've already set up the tension between Tina and Tess extremely well, IMO.
We already saw Tina held captive in Medorra. You think they would lock her up again?

I think so, because it would be easy for Tess to explain why Tina isn't around since she has a reputation for dropping out of contact for years at a time already. Plus, as far as I'm concerned, Tina's return began when she and Viki met at the airport. I'm not counting that Mendorra crap.

I haven't seen a soap crash and burn so fast as OLTL has in the past 2-3 months....
I'm getting tired of the whole Tess/Jess thing. Does nobody have in the back of their mind that Jessica could really be Tess"ica"? Yes I've heard, "Well she can't be Tess, Tess is intregrated into Jessica" but come on! How many times has Viki been intregrated? Hell, everyday for the rest of both her and Viki's life people should be thinking, "Am I speaking to an alter?" Especially since "Jessica" now just doesn't act or say the things Real Jessica would and Tess has to stumble, "Oh I mean...I'm a widow, I'm in mourning"....
Tina should be in the secret room...she did say that Llanfair was her home...time she saw all of it!
Also wouldn't Tina and LIndsey work as well together as cohorts? Make it happen!
"The Secret Room," Mendorra," "back in time, again," I beginning to wonder when Ron Carlivati is going to come up with something original and put his own stamp on the history of OLTL.

Here's something...instead of hearing all the complaints about Mendorra, how would we have changed it to make it better. Let's say you had to write a storyline about Mendorra but you could use any characters you wanted....
I wouldn't have used Mendorra...I would have replaced it with Eterna....yes it supposedly was destroyed but that storyline was a hundred times more popular than anything in Mendorra....
I would've not used Mendorra. There are so many places where you can use Tina; she's abandoned her kids, her sister, the love of her life, we've never explored how Todd and Tina relate to each other as siblings and it was a total miss not having Tina interact with David Vickers.

Did there have to be a Mendorra story? And did it have to involve Justus Bolding and the Vega brothers? I was running with the Mendorra story until I realized how long it would be before Tina had any real meaningful interaction with anyone she should have, and then I was further alienated by Carlo Hesser's ridiculousness. If this whole story was constructed around Sarah going over the falls for the 40th anniversary, it wasn't worth it even for a week, especially considering that Sarah then came back a week later.
I'm also getting tired of Jess/Tess. It's one of those stories that makes everyone involved seem so stupid.
The use of history on this show is totally going overboard. Knowing history and acknowledging it in the writing of the show is a great thing, but replaying and rehashing one story after another is silly.
I'm thinking a lot of what's happening right now has to do with Erika Slezak's annual two month hiatus. Ron had to feature a lot of stories that weren't needing Viki in any way. My guess is that the Tess story is near its climax when Viki appears in late September or early October and will involve those in that story's orbit right now. Rex and Bo are near the end of any reasonable level of patience and this Gigi finding them in the past better pay off FAST and ASAP. Notice though that Ron has the lovely pacing of the Starr pregnancy with the building tension of the Marty and Todd stuff building nicely while those other stories play out. There is much to hope for these days but Slezak's absence may account for a lot of whats on these days.
