Roger Howarth would not have done much better. He might have been worse. His last years on OLTL were plagued with half ass acting and his work on ATWT is pathetic. Constipated is the word that comes to mind.

The reason his work the last few years of OLTL was bad is because he was bored with the material he was getting---he was very vocal about not agreeing with the direction his character was taking but i have no doubt with this material he would be SUPERB.

Congrats to Kathy Griffin on her second consecutive emmy win!

A good actor never lets his dissatisfaction or boredom show. If he accepted a paycheck, it was his job to sell the material.

Looks like Erika Slezak and Kassie Depaiva will be Prenommed next year for Lead Actress..and rightly so. Slezak has picked up the past few weeks..but Depaiva has been shining all year so far. And the year is not over yet..and we have soooo much to see. I am so excited for my fave show!!

all i know is that Howarth, when up to the task can be excellent, and i have no doubt he would kill this material. I for one understand how at times an actor can get frustrated. just like any job, you don't neccisarily do your best work when you aren't satisfied with the direction the project is taking. you do your best work when you are excited about the material.

Congrats to Kathy Griffin on her second consecutive emmy win!

I think the three pre-noms will be Slezak, De Pavia and Strasser.

than the three supp ones will be Kathy Brier, Catherine Hickland and either Hillary Smith or Susan Haskell (maybe Andrea Evans, depending on how long she stays)

Congrats to Kathy Griffin on her second consecutive emmy win!

Yeppers Boidive..i do think the Lead and supporting Actresses categories could end up like that. Kathy Brier is turning in even more great work. I hope she will not leave this year.

Robin Strasser is THE star of OLTL right now. Ever since RC has taken over, Strasser as an actress and Dorian as a character have both been totally riveting.

Exactly. Whether or not Howarth agreed with the direction his character was taking shouldn't matter. I'm sure he's not the first actor, nor will he be the last, who's been dissatisfied, but a GOOD actor wouldn't let that show in the performance.

I wouldn;t say she is the STAR of the show right now. Her storyline and scenes have picked up alot more with RC...but Kassie Depaiva and kathy Brier have been pretty consistant all year so far. Now Slezak is building up steam!! I think it is safe to say that Ron is writing some terrific material for the female cast. Thank God we have 4 of the stronger actresses recieving this material.

Strasser is the star. Nobody else comes close right now.

What luck for rulers that men do not think.

I agree, MTS, Strasser is on fire. If she pre-nommed in lead this year, she cerainly deserves a pre-nom and nomination in lead for next year.

Re: Howarth: If he was unhappy about the direction of Todd, what must he be thinking about the direction Paul has taken? Regardless, an actor is paid to act what is on the page, if he doesn't want to do that, either quit or become a writer and write the material that he thinks is lacking from a given show.

do you honestly think that RH would be any happier with the material the writers are writing now for the character of Todd? They are ruining him. I don't feel that TSJ has been that good the past couple of weeks but by no means is he a horrible actor. He's done better work, he's probably just as fed up with the material he's getting now as RH was with the material he was getting before he left.

From what i've read howarth always preferred Todd as a mean, bad guy and hated when they made Todd likeable or gave him light material so i don't see how he would be upset at all by this story... Plus he was always better when Todd was doing mean, terrible things. Part of me would just like to see Howarth back on-screen with Susan Haskell.

Congrats to Kathy Griffin on her second consecutive emmy win!

By the time Howarth left OLTL the last time, I was more than ready for him to go. It was obvious he was totally disinterested in playing Todd. As for St. John, as I've said before, my opinion changes of him almost daily. At the beginning of last week's OLTL, I was sick of him, but then on Friday, I thought he was really good. He's a very odd actor, which is sometimes good and sometimes bad.

Today episode was good, but i think tommorow will be great.
The scenes w/Ilene Kristen & Erika Slezak were great.
Tuc Watkins continue comedic performance is one of the things that keep me hook to this show. ("Viki I'll help you w/anything except for your multiple personalities. You're on your own w/that." roflmao)
The scenes at B.E. were "Dallas esque"
And Robin Strasser channeling Joan Collins.
Just GREAT

A solid show. The whole John/Antonio fake fighting bit is so tiresome. Rex and Gigi was flat as well. Strasser saved the hour. She played the Dorian I love and remember fondly.

You know, that's exactly what i thought while watching the show... The scene with Dorian walking into the meeting in the giant hat after dumping Charlie in the alley was so similar to Joan Collins as Alexis Carrington---it was sensational! Her statement that the Buchanan's were hiding a fraud was simply marvelous, so dramatic and did indeed remind me of "Dallas".

Congrats to Kathy Griffin on her second consecutive emmy win!
