I have a feeling that Kate Linder (Esther, Y&R) will get prenominated for Supporting Actress.

am i the only one thinking Dee Hall and Drake Hogyesten will get pre-noms in support of their years of service to the show?

Since Dee rarely submits I doubt it, but I think Drake might have the better chance.

Though i LOVE Kate Linder, she has a snowballs chance in hell of getting a pre-nom on her show.

She will have to get in line behind Judith Chapman, Jess Walton, Sharon Case, Tracy Bregman, Elizabeth Hendrickson, Adrienne Frantz, etc

Right now, i'm more intrigued by who will get the pre-noms for Supporting Actress on B&B...

We all know Lang and Flannery will be Lead
and Heather Tom is a lock for one of the Supporting slots, but who will get the second??

Jennifer Gareis, Hunter Tylo, Ashley Jones or Alley Mills??

Personally, i would give it to Mills, who has some great tapes that show a wide range of emotions in them.

But honestly, this award belongs to Tom. I just rewatched her performance as Katie spoke at Storm's funeral.....probably the best single performance of the year in soaps. Mark my words, the Emmy is hers!

I guess I am the only one who thinks Susan needs to sit out this yr.

Gareis, not the greatest actress, but capable, had the most screentime out of anyone on canvas so I think she should be w/Lang (who also wasn't on as much in the yr. too) in the Lead. One could also argue that Tylo may be in that slot too.

Tom is the clear frontrunner to win thus far.

AS for the Y&R Supporting gals I would hope for some vets to represent not name Tracey Bregman, but the younger gals who qualify like Hendrickson could end up getting a prenom which could lead to a suprise nom w/the right tape and having been on two networks.

east/west...Believe it or not, i would not be upset if Flannery sat out this year (though i don't think she will). Since she is nearing retirement, she probably feels she'll hang in the race until she departs B&B.

As for Lang, she was sensational during Storm's suicide storyline, but i agree, she hasn't doesn't much since then, though she did have some great performances with Flannery when Phoebe died.

I just can't see their costars NOT nominating them again, when they are still clearly the Leads of that show. Hell, Lang still had 3times the airtime Jeanne Cooper did last year, and Granny herself got a Lead nod (and a win).

Tom is sitting pretty in the Supporting category. Not only did she give the best single performance of the year, but she has 3 shows voting for her...Y&R, OLTL and B&B.

i'm curious to see the final prenoms for supporting actress from days of our lives, cuz during certain parts of the year, there've been quite a few contenders, earliest in the year, would be martha madison ( ex-belle ) then you get tamara braun ( ex-ava ) ( for whom i know won't get prenommed for days, due to all the AMC love for her ) then there's peggy mckay, leann hunley has a few episodes during the hospital lock up, lauren koslow, nadia bjorlin, and renee jones. i think we can pretty much count out nadia bjorlin, leann hunley, martha madison, and tamara braun though. which leaves peggy mckay, lauren koslow, and renee jones, and i'd love to see renee jones get a prenom, but i am sure the two spots will go to lauren koslow and peggy mckay, and both are deserving...i just wish renee jones would get recognized for something.

Is there any confirmation on the number of pre-noms per catagory? Last year they added a third pre-nom, is it the same this year or have they gone back to two per show?

for days of our lives supporting actress contenders sake i hope there's a 3rd prenom. but at the same time, the whole 3 prenom system is what screwed everything up at the 2008 emmy's. there were too many tapes to view ppl got lazy, too many to choose from it basically turned into a popularity contest vs. pull names out of a hat. a complete joke. i luv days, but they didn't deserve those 4 actings noms they got last year...well the 2 younger actors were deserving...and i guess thaao penghlis did a good job, but i think some others may have done a better job, as for judi evans...luv her and all...but she definitely got nommed due to popularity.

id dont think the shows can vote for their own actor to be nominated, just pre-nommed.

It was confirmed there will only be two prenoms per category per show. Now, ties are certainly possible, but a third option is, unfortunately for some, not something we can count on.

I agree that Jennifer Gareis should be prenommed in lead, along with KKL. She not going to win, or even get nominated, but I still think she deserves the slot.

The competition on Y&R is far too tight for me to believe Kate Linder will get a prenom, though I'd be kind of happy if she did. Y&R has a large cast and they use it pretty well, so there are like a dozen potential supporting actress nominees. In addition to Chapman, Case, Bregman, Walton, Hendrickson, Frantz, and Linder, there's also Nia Peeples, Eileen Davidson, Amelia Heinle, and probably some others I'm forgetting. And it's not like they're just placeholders. Most of these people actually have good tapes!

I, too, would love to see Renee Jones get a prenom this year. Both Jones and Lauren Koslow have suffered from terrible writing, but it's been worse for Koslow. I can't think of much she could submit this year that wouldn't make me cringe because of the how poorly written it was. Jones hasn't been getting Shakespeare, but most of her strong episodes are better than awful. Peggy McKay had two storylines to choose from, and I'd say she's the easy pick of the litter here. But you're right, youngsoapfan, these are the only three who should have a shot, unless of course Arianne Zucker goes supporting. In that case, she'd go to the head of the class, though if she did I don't see who would take her spot in lead.

I read a DC posting saying that Haskell submitted in Lead. IDK if its a rumor or not, but it is something to take notice at.

That would change the race a lot. I'd like to see the final pre-nom be her and Strasser. as great as Slezak was she wasn't a lead this year. Although she could produce tapes to win for sure.

Supporting than should be Brier and Williamson.

HA! I was just about to post the same thing.

That Susan Haskell thing shocked me to tell you the truth!

That makes the race very interesting...

Boidiva, the poster at DC said that Robin did not submit herself at all for Lead Actress.

My dream would be for Brier & Lozano to get the prenominations & nominations, but it'll most likely Williamson will get that prenom spot.

I think Haskell screwed herself over by going Lead, there is no way she'll get a nomination, if this is true, IMO. I think CBS will bloc vote the Lead categories again this year, making it extra difficult for anyone from ABC getting in there.

Haskell had a better chance at Supporting, which is what she was in 2008 and she could have not only gotten a nomination in that category, but a win also. Dumb, dumb, dumb...

That is surprising, since really I would say Haskell actually belonged in supporting. Oh well. It also surprises me greatly that Robin Strasser wouldn't submit herself in lead this year. She had a lot of good material and was making things happen all year long.

I have a feeling the show will try to make a coordinated effort to get certain people prenommed, so if Haskell went lead, my guess is that she was encouraged to. Interesting, in any event.
