I was at work when I got the info, and I sent them via phone, so I really had a chance to look at the dates. AddieLove, just as an F.Y.I., according to the Academy, the actual date of Peter Reckell's episode is 02/25/08. Also, it shows Van Hansis' episode date as 06/16/08.

Really? they have been known to mess up a date. I'll re-confirm that. By the way, thank you for the hardwork on these. I know this can't be an easy task to both search for, then upload these episodes!

I found the date for Vincent Irizarry on another board, and they said they got it from an interview he gave, so who knows!
Yeah some of the dates I had confirmed for sure, but some of the others (bradford, van, kirsten, peter) were coming from other sources, so thanks for confirming the right dates.
I fixed all of them.
Added Jeanne Cooper's episode; all we need now is Cornelius Smith Jr, Peter Reckell, and the correct date for Vincent Irizarry!

Okay I just saw some lead actress reels. How can anyone beat Susan Haskell is the question? I found Debbi Morgan to have a good romantic reel with the Jesse reunion. It was good but did not WOW me. Susan Flannery's was good but I have seen her do alot better. Maura West's was just okay. Jeanne Cooper IMO the biggest disappointment. The reel was boring, dull and it was all mostly a bunch of flashbacks. It did not show me any real range. Haskell OMG killed it with the rapemance reveal. Honestly how can anyone beat her after the reels I reviewed?
I watched Tamara Braun's reel, that video was not working well but I found that episode on another youtube video. I found the scenes to be good with Tamara's reel but found the scenes very hokey. Tamara is always good and she had moments in the episode but the material did not draw me in. I actually would call this between Bree/Melissa Claire. I thought Melissa's reel was very good acting and it drew me in. Bree IMO was the best of the five. Her reel told the complete story from beginning to end.
How would you guys rate 1-5 best actress and 1-5 supporting actress? Now I am going to watch the other reels.
Jeanne Cooper was fantastic this time around with the dual roles, and this episode was more nuanced. However, I wish she went with the episode before this. The one between Jeanne and Jess, where Jill wants to have Katherine removed as CEO from Chancellor due to her health problems, and JC gives a tour de france performance in that brief, but stellar performance.
I found Flannery's reel boring. However, I place most blame on the writing, it truly was horrible. If Flannery wins with this one, it will be highly disappointing. Even the acting from Winsor, the usual Moss, and Lesli Kay felt stilted.
Debbi Morgan was excellent, and showed a great deal of compassion, warmth and heart. I wouldn't be upset if she won, because that train scene alone (with Alicia Keys melody) was stunning. Honestly, the best reunion of '08.
Maura West was good. Some sweet scenes between Jack and Carly, but nothing new or exciting that would want me to give her the Emmy.
Susan Haskell - Now that's a reel. Thrilling, superb acting, and just riveting to watch. From the moment it begins Haskell has you hooked, and it's mesmerizing to watch. After watching Haskell, it's clear that she's the frontrunner because her reel has everything an Emmy voter would love.
Rankings: Susan Haskell Debbi Morgan Jeanne Cooper Maura West Susan Flannery
Susan Haskell has the momentum over the rest of the four ladies, but Morgan and Cooper are pretty even (slight edge to Morgan). West and Flannery are out of it IMO. If this were based on the year, out of the five ladies nominated (MTS notwithstanding ) I'd give it to Jeanne Cooper, but based on the tapes, it belongs to Susan Haskell. I wouldn't be upset if Debbi Morgan or Jeanne Cooper won though. I'd call shenanigans if West/Flannery won, especially West, because she's been nominated with much better tapes and lost.
I'd like to know what the other submitted because I can't imagine that Cooper, Flannery, and West had better submissions than those snubbed. I agree with most of your remarks MTSROCKS except that I think Cooper's submission is worse than you do. Too gimmicky, and I never get over the feeling that she's slumming as Marge. Marge doesn't feel real.
OLTL: I hated the storyline, and I would not have nominated her for ruining the memory of the groundbreaking story, but Haskell did nail her submission.
Watching them, here is my opinion going on tape submissions
Lead Actress I'd say Haskell has it in the bag. Morgan is very good but Haskell is everything you want in an Emmy reel. She really pulls you in from start to finish.
Supporting Actress - Bree has the strongest reel. Tamara's is good but the material isn't as strong as Bree's IMO. It's a tough choice but I'm gonna say Bree has this.
Younger Actress - After watching Berman's reel I'm not sure about this one. I'm going with Melvin because I think the votes will be split between Berman and Storms.
Lead Actor - Why do I have this feeling Geary will win his 7th Emmy. If not Geary then I'm going with Thorsten.
Supporting Actor - Nobody really stood out for me as the winner. Young has a heavy reel and could see it going to Hansis. Gonna say Young on this one.
Younger Actor - I didn't want Cornelius but I think Berris has this one.
Thanks for getting all the reels up! I love seeing what people submitted. And seeing how wrong I am with the people who end up winning!
Just finished all 5 Lead Actress reels. I'd definitely vote for Susan Haskell. I agree with the above posters and think hers is definitely the best acted and standout of the group. In order, I would rank them:
1. SUSAN HASKELL 2. JEANNE COOPER 3. DEBBIE MORGAN 4. MAURA WEST 5. SUSAN FLANNERY
I really didn't like Jeanne Cooper's role at all. The flashbacks and the ending of the episode with Jeffery coming in and assuming it is Katherine distracted and confused and I really think Cooper had much better tapes from last year than this one.
Morgan was great, but didn't have THAT moment to reign it in and have a great impact.
West has been better before. She's okay here, but the gravitas in this tape isn't exactly overwhelming.
Flannery's tape as an Emmy tape bored the hell out of me. The writing was indeed bad and I'd love to know what Kim Zimmer submitted. Because the Josh/Reva movie wedding eppys were stunning for her and could have gotten in over West & Flannery's tapes for sure.
Onto the next category...

Watching all of the best actress reels, this is going to be quite a race.
Each actress brings something totally different to her reel.
The weakest reel belongs to West. It's been the same ole same ole with her reels. Her and Jack fighting. I actually think Michael Park stole those scenes from her.
Susan Haskell's was an excellent reel, spinning Marty into an almost catatonic state. Trevor St John matched her word for word.
Morgan's reel i thought was too hokey. While she is a good actress, she spent most of her reel crying...no real good dialogue.
Susan Flannery did pick her best tape because we rarely see Stephanie in such a vulnerable and fragile state. This woman can do no wrong in a scene. Her reel was the most grounded in realism.
Jeanne Cooper's tape was also a good choice because she wisely chose a tape that also showed flashbacks some 20 years ago. Emmy voters love that. Remember, Tricia Cast (Nina) did the same thing with her Emmy reel and she ended up winning.
So here is how i would rank them.
1 Jeanne Cooper 2 Susan Haskell 3 Susan Flannery 4 Debbie Morgan 5 Maura West
However, i do believe it will be a battle between Cooper and Flannery because they have so many west coast voters backing them

Cooper reel bored me to freaking tears. It was nothing at all spectacular. It was a scene of flashbacks, big whoop. Show me stuff in current time. I love Jeanne but she missed the boat here. Flannery has had much better reels. Her reel this time was okay. If people do not vote Haskell the winner after that reel, they need some glasses. Her reel was not only the best in lead actress category, I have to say it was the best reel of the entire nomination list. It riveted you from beginning to end. It's not even a close race here. HASKELL KILLED IT. I knew once I saw those rapemance scenes in Novemeber, she had the emmy. After seeing the other reels I am shocked how weak some were from very good actresses. West, Cooper and Flannery have all been better.
MARKPGH how would you rate the supporting actress category?
