I agree, 100%, BC with your Hansis submission and was going to put it up myself. I thought he showed range, emotion and restraint. Maybe his best work to date in an episode that really showcased Nuke for the first time in a long time.
Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series: Kim Zimmer as Reva Shayne, Guiding Light (CBS)
Reva is livid when Daisy tells her that she was dating "G" and she tells Daisy she needs to get him out of her mind.
Ppl DON'T CHOP ME BALLS OFF, IF ANYONE WATCH THE SHOW TODAY (I'M SORRY) YOU SAW THAT HER PERFORMANCE SUPPORTED ALL OF THE ACTORS SHE WAS W/SCENES IN. From telling Daisy how its goin to be concerning "G" and w/her interaction w/Buzz, Zimmer fired on all cylinders today.

I agree east/west, today had to have been the best episode GL has put out in 4 or 5 months.
I would also like to add though...
Guiding Light NICOLE FORESTER - Lead Actress (Cassie) June 17, 2008
Cassie finds out the man who killed Tammy is back in town and behind bars. She goes to the police station to confront him and does while surrounded by family, friends, and police. NF definitly delivered today as well. If the dialouge writing were better I would have mentioned it for Writing as well.

I agree about Forrester. She should be nominated again.
Also the colors on the show have improved greatly.
WILLIAM PETERSEN: Well, this is a shock. The only explanation for this is that somehow in the last year, every one of you tried to act with rubber gloves and tweezers.

One Life to Live Friday, June 20, 2008 - Outstanding Supporting Actress: Kathy Brier - Outstanding Younger Actress: Kristen Alderson
Starr tells Marcie she is pregnant and wants her and Michael to adopt the baby. Marcie lashes out at Starr for telling Marcie Todd was abusing Sam. Marcie then apologizes for lashing out at her but explains there is no way she could adopt her Baby because it would create another war between Marcie and Todd. Starr pleads with her, but Marcie convinces her she just can't. In the end Marcie tells Starr she will never forget this.
What a great job these two did today. Brier had stronger dramatic work in January, but this would make a great pairing with one of those episodes. Brier evokes a rage as Marcie because of the way Star behaved. Then she reeled it in and realized how helpless Star is. Alderson made you see the fear in Star's eyes about what to do.
Very well done ladies.
~Morgan

Days of our Lives Thursday, June 19th, 2008 Younger Actor: Darin Brooks (Max Brady)
Max confronts Trent about being his father. Trent attempts to pay off Max for his silence.
Brooks was pretty good in this episode as Max reveals that Dean Robbins is really his father Trent. DAYS will obviously pre-nom with again and this is better material then what secured him the nomination for last years material.

These last two posts are the very citations I was coming here to make!
Kathy Brier and Kristen Alderson were both fantastic in their scenes. Nothing was overblown or overdone, and it was really moving.
Darin Brooks has been great at playing Max's rage, but Thursday episode was I think the first one where there's enough to work with that it might actually make a decent Emmy reel. Thursday's DAYS episode was great all around actually. I'm also going to post a citation for:
Thursday, June 19, 2008 Days of our Lives Best Supporting Actress Arianne Zuker - Nicole Walker Kiriakis
EJ comes to see Nicole for a "distraction," and the two start to make out. Nicole stops things and asks EJ to leave because she's upset that he just thinks of her as an easy lay. Later, her melancholy over the situation with Dean Robbins is interrupted by a very unsympathetic Victor, who taunts her thinking that EJ rejected her.
Zuker did a great job all of last week, playing Nicole fear of Dean Robbins. In Thursday's episode, she shows even more of the vulnerable side of Nicole in her dealings with EJ and Victor.
Monday June 23,2008 Outstanding Lead Actress MELODY THOMAS SCOTT "The Young and the Restless"
David confronts Nikki and tells her he wants a divorce, spilling his guts to his new bride by telling her he's been gambling all this time.
Scott looked crippled with grief as David gave her a one-two punch. The look of disbelief, anger and hurt in her eyes was conveyed so beautifully through a well written script.
Scott's best moment came when she blasted David for not needing her anymore because he won a big payoff and now had all the money he needed.....priceless.
Great direction too as those scenes of despair were juxtaposed with pics of Victor's wedding.
All and all..it was a good eppy from Y&R..and since we don't see too many of them these days, i had to give em props!

I didn't get MTS last year all that much but yesterday she was great. That was a clear Emmy tape.

Lets only hope Jeanne Cooper stops submitting herslef now so MTS can get a nomination already. Something tells me she doesn't live in the land of reality as far as submitting herself is concerned and wouldnt be surprised to see JC nominated again next year.

Sabrina and Victor get married. Sabrina's mom causes trouble at the wedding. David leaves Nicki.
I thought the episode as a hole was great and I thought it showcased the ensemble well.
June 25, 2008
The Young and the Restless
Best Leading Actress-Melody Thomas Scott as Nicki Chow
David comes back and asks for Nicki's help. Nicki is confused on what to do.
Melody once again knocked it out of the park. Great slow burn from anger to temptation at the end with the liquor. Melody is finally making a strong case for the emmy next year.

I want to second Darin Brooks for June 19 and June 24th. The 19th episode has him confronting his father. Brooks showed anger, hurt, confusion and disbelief without missing a beat. His performance came from the character which made it all the more impressive. His performance on the 24th worked because Max talked about his father with his mother Caroline. There was real vulnerability in this one. This episode was a nice counterbalance to the anger on June 19. Plus, he's just so damn cute that I'd give him the Emmy for being cute and a good actor.
June 24: Brandon Buddy, OLTL I know he's not a favorite around here, but this episode was Buddy at his best. It covered his character's history which would make it accessible for non-OLTL watchers. I was impressed with his work here. It's nowhere near as good as Brooks's work, but Buddy could score a nod with this episode.

6/25/08 Caitlin Van Zant "Ashlee" Guiding Light YOUNG ACTRESS
Ashlee finds Blake in Coop's room, talks with him, and her mother, and then ends her relationship with Coop.
I have been impressed with her work before, but the connection between actress/character/situation really grabbed me today. As a young woman struggling to overcome her own insecurities and get on with her life, Van Zant has become one of Springfield's MVPs.

Of course, I totally agree about Melody, but after this past snub, when I really thought MTS had the Emmy in the bag, I can't allow myself to get optimistic that she can score a nod next spring. One can hope, tho.
Outstanding Writing (As the World Turns).June 25, 2008.
A complete episode featuring two of the show's best storylines. The culmination of the Chris/Ali hearing and Nuke were classic ATWT without going over the top. I hope, tho, we haven't heard the last of the charges against Chris, as this storyline is mined in history and is gold if explored further.

She brought true emotion and makes it appear so effortless. A very natural actress, not showy and usually not the type that gets Emmy attention. Great work.[

ITA about Brooks being great on June 24 as well. He is just adorable.
I haven't seen Tuesday's OLTL yet, but I was actually kind of impressed with Buddy last week when Starr told him she wanted to give the baby away. I'm glad he's doing better.
