One Life to Live Monday, July 7, 2008 - Outstanding Supporting Actress: Catherine Hickland
Right as Bo and Lindsay are about to be announced husband and wife, Nora stops the wedding and tells Bo to read the letter RJ wrote Lindsay. Lindsay takes the letter and reads it aloud to everyone there (Bo, Clint, Nora, Rex, Marcie, Matthew) revealing she faked her insanity to protect herself from going to jail. When alone, Bo asks Lindsay how he can ever get past this. In the end, he walks out with Lindsay crying on the floor. Nora walks in with Lindsay asking, "Are you happy now?"
Monday, July 7, 2008 Days of our Lives Best Actress Deidre Hall - Marlena Evans
Marlena rips into John after he destroys the disc with his memories on it and the lab equipment he could use to access it. She tells Sami she thinks she's lost John for good, saying he took her hope away from her. Later, she returns to the lab and declares that she's not giving up.
Hall was great here, unleashing rage and disgust on John, then later being crestfallen with Sami. I especially loved the look she gave John when she said that he disgusts her.
I also agree with the OLTL writing citation. Yesterday's episode added a whole new dimension to the last few weeks and brought history in really interestingly and organically.
Outstanding Supporting Actress: Hillary B. Smith as Nora Hannen: Nora decides to stop Bo and Lindsay's wedding and show bo the note that Lindsay got from RJ in which he mentions her faking insanity to avoid prosecution.
Outstanding Leading Actor: Robert S. Woods as Bo Buchanan: Bo is stunned when Lindsay announces that she did indeed fake insanity after killing Spencer Truman and kept it from him. And that it was Nora who exposed this lie.
Outstanding Younger Actor: Eddie Alderson as Matthew Rappaport: Matthew calls Nora out for her actions at Bo's wedding.
Outstanding Supporting Actress: Catherine Hickland as Lindsay Rappaport: Lindsay is stunned when Nora stops her and Bo's wedding with the letter that RJ sent. Bo breaks up with her. Nora comes to arrest Lindsay and Lindsay fires back at her.
Congrats to Kathy Griffin on her second consecutive emmy win!

Kristen Alderson as Starr Manning Outstanding Younger Actress
Todd confronts Starr and Blair after Cole tells him of Starr's pregnancy and her plan to give the baby to The McBains.
I thought Alderson was really good today. DePaiva and St. John were both good as well, but these were really Alderson's scenes as Starr defended her decision to Todd. She has really come into her own with this storyline so far.
As of today these are the top 5 based on most submissions. As you can see there are plenty of ties and the Younger Actor catagory is (again) very weak so far.

Tuesday, July 8, 2008 Guiding Light Best Actress Kim Zimmer as Reva Shayne
I'm surprised no one mentioned Zimmer for this episode. Sure, it's not her typical, knock your socks off episode, but it sure was fun watching her be playful with Bradley Cole's Jeffrey, then chastising her granddaughter for hanging around a killer. We then got to see the angry and manipulative Reva as she angrily confronted Grady and planted drugs on him, thus showing her disdain for his influence on her granddaughter's life. No matter if you like the new GL format or not, Zimmer is always interesting to watch.
One Life to Live Thursday, July 10, 2008 - Outstanding Supporting Actress: Kathy Brier - Outstanding Younger Actor: Brandon Buddy - Outstanding Youger Actress: Kristen Alderson
Todd confronts Starr and Blair and reveals to them Cole told him about her pregnancy. Todd forbids Starr to give the baby away, especially to Marcie and Michael. Cole has a heart-to-heart with John and tells him he told Todd. He then goes to see Starr, but Before Blair goes she warns him she will do whatever it takes to protect her daughter. Starr lashes out at Cole saying he told the one person that hurt his mom, Marty, more than anyone. Todd shows up at Marcie and Michael's and reminds Marcie of what a bad person is. Marcie then throws most of his evil doings in his face when Blair and John show up before it gets heated. In the end, Michael tells Marcie he can't stay with her if she is going to pursue this adoption. He then walks out on her.
I know Brier has better tapes, but we definitely got to see a different side of Marcie when she lit into Todd. Then our hearts broke for her when Michael reasonably walks out on her.
Alderson is just on fire and is giving the best work of her career.
This is a real standout tape for Buddy in my opinion.

If I didn't forget the day this aired I defnitely would have mentioned it. When the acting and story is good the format doesn't matter.

Thanks for posting this, you beat me. And actually I didn't know how to spell Billy's last name. But also include:
As the World Turns Thursday, July 10th 2008
Outstanding Supporting Actor: Scott Holmes
Tom as played magnificancently by Scott Holmes was brilliant. Scott showed both restraint and utter calmess while also showing his disdain and rage. He exhibited tremendous range and it was done so effortlessly.
Can we have 3 Outstanding Supporting Actress? I also thought that Marie Masters performance was stellar too. She was so hilarious with her comment: "Emily, you weren't robbing the craddle, you were robbing the womb!" That left me LMAO! But then in a matter of moments, her sarcasm turned into anger as Casey came rushing into Emily's office. Just simply a Brilliant episode all around!
BC, you can always see that eppy on CBS.com, btw.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? OLTL FRIDAY? That show was AWFUL. Thom Christopher gave one of the worst performances as Carlo Hesser ever I think.
Sorry, but I didnt see one bit of Emmy worthy work from Friday's show. This Mendorra thing, which I really, really wanted to get behind from the day Tina & Marty returned is oficially BAD writing on RC's part. Bringing Andrea back as Tina in a story so beneath her is not excusible. I'm a RC & OLTL fan, but this isn't good.

I do think you got carried away a bit on Thursday and Friday. Some I would completely stand behind from Thu: Brier, Buddy, Alderson, even Writing. But none of those from Fri. It was a good show, but if any of those actors submitted that ep for their reel, it wouldn't be a good move. They all simply have more to choose from.
Well, I think the OLTL episode descriptions are a little mixed up. I'm sure that the conversation between Charlie and Viki, as well as all the stuff with Rex, Gigi, and Brody, happened before Friday. I think that was all Thursday. Also, I think it was Wednesday that Todd was confronting Starr and Blair, and Thursday was all dealing with Marcie and Michael.

Amber tells Daniel she cheated on him.
It looks like Grazedei will be good Monday.

you may be right, i watched them on my DVR and all it said was "THUR" or "FRI" so it may have been an airing on soapnet, but either way i just thought those performances were very good, but i'll admit that yes, i may have got caught up in the excitment of the episode, i just love having all these past characters back and i got excited. I agree thought that Andrea Evans return isn't working at this time---to me Tina has no relevance without Max, Gabrielle and Cord. her story bascially always was Tina going back and forth between Max and Cord and getting into insane adventures and Gabrielle was always her best friend/worst enemy. They need Max and Cord back and i'm sure Ron could find a way to fix Gabrielle's murder. Maybe it was another trick of Carlo Hesser and she's been held captive for the last few years on an island in Mendorra.
Congrats to Kathy Griffin on her second consecutive emmy win!

Considering what we've been subjected to across the board for the last few years, it's really great to see that fans are this excited about anything! I do wish that Tina was involved with people that she had a stronger relationship with.
I agree. I can only hope Evans gets to share a scene with Tuc Watkins before he leaves to be wasted on DH.
And I would LOVE an undoing of Gabrielle's death. I know RC would do a great job in fixing it. Plus there would be more story opportunities (she was engaged to Bo before she was murdered).
Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series Outstanding Lead Actor- Robert Newman Outstanding Lead Actress- Kim Zimmer Outstanding Supporting Actor- Daniel Cosgrove Outstanding Supporting Actress- Marcy Rylan
This episode was about relationships, pretty much. Josh and Reva; Bill and Lizzie; Bill and Ava; Ava and Remy; Josh and Reva kiss. Reva tells Jeffrey that Josh and Reva kissed; Bill confronts Remy about Ava at Remy's, after Ava goes missing; (the latter is after) Bill and Lizzie kiss by the house Bill is going to getting for Ava and the little tyke.
