And I would LOVE an undoing of Gabrielle's death. I know RC would do a great job in fixing it. Plus there would be more story opportunities (she was engaged to Bo before she was murdered).

I agree it would be a great thing to do, and would cause so many ripples for her to turn up alive. Think about it--- Lindsay gets out of jail (which we basically know she will) and her and Bo reconnect just as Gabrielle returns to town, thus starting a Bo/Gabrielle/Lindsay/Nora quadangle. each woman having an investment and long history with Bo, and if Max were to return than Gabby would also have that to think about and that could open up a Max/Gabrielle/Bo/Blair thing---because you know Blair and Max always have a history together.
Congrats to Kathy Griffin on her second consecutive emmy win!

Monday July 14, 2008 The Young & the Restless Best Supporting Actor Michael Grazadei as Daniel Sommers
Daniel confronts Amber over her ONS with Adrian.
Graz is definitely going to have a prosperous career after Y&R. He's talented, sexy, and versatile. His scenes today were pure joy to watch as he ripped into Amber, and then told Phyllis to stay out of his relationship. Definitely one of Y&R's and daytime's best actor. Tom Pelphrey should take notes on restraint.
Obviously no actor is perfect but Pelphrey taking lessons from Grazadei is a laughable notion!
WILLIAM PETERSEN: Well, this is a shock. The only explanation for this is that somehow in the last year, every one of you tried to act with rubber gloves and tweezers.

I am tired of the Pelphrey bashing. The man has 2 Emmys (should have 3) and is an accomplished actor. Graz is good too and deserves praise of his own because he's good in a different way.

Personally, Pelphrey should only have one emmy and that is for his work this year, the first year he won, that should have went to Grazadei for his work in Cassie's death.

How is that bashing? How is he accomplished? Why should he have three Emmy's? I still think MG is the better actor. Oh well.

....These are 2 very different actors in 2 very different roles. Pelphrey is great but can get over-the-top but it suits the character and works well with La Zimmer. Grazadei is great, more subtle, and should have an Emmy someday. Perhaps next year is his time to shine.....

Tuesday, July 15, 2008 Days of our Lives Best Actor James Scott - EJ DiMera
EJ and Sami have an ugly and explosive argument over custody of Johnny.
EJ and Sami argue so often, and with such obvious affection for one another, that I would think this would be the same old, same old. But it absolutely wasn't. There was a noticeable shift in EJ and Sami's relationship, and Scott, Alison Sweeney, and the scripts all did a fantastic job of having these two turns on each other. (Sweeney was great, too, but these were really Scott's scenes, and Sweeney's definitely got better performances than this one in this year already.) They were really good scenes, and the episode as a whole was very strong.
Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series Robert S. Woods as Bo Buchanan, One Life to Live (ABC)
Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series Phil Carey as Asa Buchanan, One Life to Live (ABC)
A drunk Bo's in Paris, TX and goes back to the ranch were he see his father's ghost.
I can't believe Phil Carey has never been nominated for his role as Asa. Those scenes were Asa berates Bo was top notch and RSW always brings it.

Eric has to go to NY for a meeting and wont take Donna because some see her as a liability to the company.

Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series Noelle Beck as Lily Walsh Snyder, As the World Turns (CBS)
Holden tells Lily that he has been having an affair w/Carly.
This should be used as one her tapes she submits b/c she rocked this. Sure ppl will say "it would've been more powerful if Byrne was doing." I say to that get over it. Byrne isn't coming back anytime soon so come off it. Beck was so natural w/her hurt & anger. A none viewer would believe that Beck has been playing this role for a long time if they were to watch for the first time today. Hopefully we get more Emmy-worthy performances this yr from her, b/c as of right now she is the best recast this yr and sometimes I forget she's the recast. That is how good she is.

I was going to post her yesterday based on the promo. LOL. A great performances can justify a recast-see Nicole Forrester on Guiding Light.

Couldnt agree more with the citation of Noelle Beck today. She was great and that would make an EXCELLENT tape. Martha Byrne will ALWAYS be Lily to me, but if we have to have a fake Lily, Beck is a great actress and at least they recast with someone who can act.
I'd also like to add.
7.17.08 ATWT Supporting Actress - Julie Pinson as Janet Ciccone
There was playful stuff with Jack, sexual stuff with Jack, moments of angst and anger with her daughter and just well rounded supporting tape from Pinson. She's been impressing me as of late and I'm warming more and more to her character.

I'm glad you cited this performance. For the first time, I finally bought her in the role of Lily. I thought she hit all the right notes, just a terrific performance.
West looks like she's got herself a tape tomorrow if the previews are any indication.
This storyline has been really good.

Okay, Lindsay, are you forgetting that I was a professional twice over— an analyst and a therapist. The world’s first analrapist.
I hope the Beck praise last b/c I think she so underatted. She has came into a role and has made it into her own IMO. I have only been watching ATWT on and off since 2002. I like Byrne's Lily but I LOVED her as Rose and even though I am a fan of Beck potrayal of Lily I don't want her to redo Rose. Byrne had that magic that can't be redone when she was Rose (and I know long time viewers would say that about Byrne's Lily).
I am goin to be on a wknd vacation so I won't be able to see 2morrows episode. Oh well I thik Beck will have better showcases as this story progress.
Basically all I am sayin is that I hope Beck keeps up the good work. My wish is that she'll be one of the CBS ladies in that line up for Best Actress next yr. b/c she deserves it.

As the World Turns - Friday, July 18th Best Lead Actress - Maura West as Carly Tenny
Carly is consoling Holden at the hospital as Lily recovers from her accident after almost running over Carly. Jack finds out about the affair and scolds Carly. Carly yells enrage with anger at Jack that she enjoys Holden because he never criticizes her. At the end, Carly is in hysterics realizing the magnitude of her actions.
Maura West was outstanding today! She showed her range as a great actress with her subtleness turning into anger and disdain into hysterics. It was quite powerful and breathtaking. Maura needs to mark this tape as this is a real Emmy reel winner.

Young and the Restless-Friday July 17-18, 2008 Eric Braeden.
As Victor he got his licks in with everyone, he told Sharon and Phyllis that he was going to crush the magazine. He told Jack he would never be the man his father was, and he kicked Nick of the property and disinherit his children. He was on fire and took no prisoner. No one does revenge like Victor, over the top with rage. Total Emmy worthy
