I haven't seen these episodes yet, and I think Melanie's a terribly written character much of the time and I kind of think she should be written out, but I find Molly Burnett to be pretty talented. She's miles better than Shelley Hennig was when she first joined the show, and look how much she's blossomed.

oh i agree. tons better than shelley hennig when she first started, but she still isn'[t all that great...improved...but not all that great. My only issue is with all the scenes melanie has had where she cries...it just needs to look a little more real. but lately she has been doing a great job of that.

There is only two chicks that have our interest right now at OSU is........ Molly Burnett and Jacqueline MacInnes Wood Molly is like Melanie Griffith Jacqueline is like Scarlett Johansson Neither will win because its soaps world, but will go on to do better things.
hensley hasnt been this good in a while, and she showed lots of range and emotion displaying her lonliness, feeling left out and needed someone. if it wasnt for pinson, i would say she has an easier path to her second straight nod.

Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series Arianne Zucker (Nicole Walker)
Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series Suzanne Rogers (Maggie Horton)
Outstanding Younger Actor In A Drama Series Blake Berris (Nick Fallon)
Nicole miscarries. Nick ask Maggie to let Melonie live w/her.
These actors bought the noise today. Nicole losing her baby was a career best for Arianne. And I love that after all these yrs. and no matter the storyline Suzanne can still bring it. Blake is saving a horrible storyline and I hope if they are getting rid of him keeps knocking it out of the park w/his performances.

i had to really debate on if this was worth citing........
monday,nov24,2008
young and the restless lead actress:michelle stafford
the scenes with jack were really great and when phyllis was yelling at jack to straighten his wife out, i was like "where has this woman been"? the restless style stuff was blah but when she visited jack those scenes took off. probably the first real performance this year for her.

November 25/08
Outstanding Lead actress: Arianne Zuker as Nicole Walker
Outstanding younger actress: Rachel Melvin as Chelsea Brady
Aftermath of Nicole's miscarriage, and chelsea gets in a huge fight with melanie at the pub, showing her anger, since Melanie knows how to get to her, then venting later on to max, going from angry, to hurt to guilty.

Brilliant ensemble episode IMO. Maybe not the strongest submission drama wise, but there were so many different interactions, and great scenes. And how very heartbreaking was that final scene at the Winters?
One Life to Live Best Actress Erika Slezak
Viki lashes out at her deceased father for all the problems in her life.
Excellent performance from Slezak, and should surely solidify herself with a nomination.

I enjoyed the episode too. I'd also like to add that while the jury is still out on Tyra/Ana, I have been far less annoyed with them since their return. A) because they haven't been shoved down out throats everyday and B) I was actually very moved at the end of todays episode. For the first time since they have been introduced, I had empathy for the characters.
On a side note, Olivia comparing Tyra to Dru was funny! Dru she is NOT! I love that Olivia is back and I love that she still sucks as a friend. Lets see, she betrayed Ashley with Brad years ago and today she told Neil not to marry Karen because she's too "nice". Of course she followed it up with, "I love Karen, she's a friend"...
Yeah, Olivia's still a b*i*t*c*h!

I never really cared for the character of Olivia even during her hey-day. But i agree, she has known Karen since college and she has known Tyra all but 2 weeks and feels that Neil is best suited for Tyra......get real Liv!
Which is why i never liked Liv to begin with...what a judgemental bitch! If Liv feels like she knows it all, then why didn't she known Dru was illiterate and Nathan was running around on her??
Back to the blog at hand, it was a nice eppy for Y&R. My best part was the Jack/Victor meeting. Jack telling Victor he was going to bring him a file stuck in the leg of the Turkey was a hoot, as was Victor saying he didn't murder anyone, but that all may change when he gets out of jail.
All My Children November 26, 2008 Supporting Actress-Melissa Claire Egan
Annie crashes a Fusion party to marry Ryan. She was convincing at wanting to marry Ryan and be threatening and be cabable to stab Erica.
WILLIAM PETERSEN: Well, this is a shock. The only explanation for this is that somehow in the last year, every one of you tried to act with rubber gloves and tweezers.

Loved this performance, too. I just wonder if voters will be tired of the ongoing Viki and her father storyline. There is no doubt that Slezak is great and this episode is superb for her, but some may think that her winning Emmys for playing multiple personalities because of what her father did to her may have gone on too long.

That's so silly...as though Kay/Marge or any other "death" on Y&R is anything new. Gimme a break...
For Your Cosideration Outstanding Drama Series One Life To Live
I'm seconding Arianne Zucker praise, and I want to also cite her for Wednesday, November 26 and Friday, November 28, either of which would make a good companion for the miscarriage episode if she chose not to go with something from earlier in the year. Nicole continues to process the fact that she lost her baby and cannot bring herself to tell EJ the truth about what's happened. I was really impressed with just how real everything seemed with Nicole, and how much sympathy I suddenly had for her.
Adrienne Frantz - Best Supporting Actress (I think she is too old for younger actress). She had some very moving scenes mourning Kays death at the cemetary.
Bryton McClure - Best Younger Actor - By far his best scenes of the year as he lashes out at the social worker for taking his sister...and had some very nice scenes with Trya.

Kim Zimmer Best Actress Guiding Light November 20 and November 25
I forgot to post these episodes after I watched them. Zimmer is really playing this pregnancy storyline with all she has and these two episodes are proof that she should be nominated next year. On November 20, Reva was defiant when she expressed how she did not want to put her baby at risk as far as the chemo goes; and she was very good again on November 25 when she met up with her old oncologist and explained how she wants her unborn child's health to come first. This storyline can be tricky at times, but Zimmer is really hitting it out of the ballpark.
Definitely gotta re-iterate the mentions for Arianne Zuker on November 24 and 25. Outstanding work from one of daytime's most under-heralded actresses. In a perfect world, she'd get an Emmy slot next year.
