March 13, 2008 The Bold and the Beautiful Ashley Jones as Bridget Forrester Supporting Actress
Bridget overhears Brooke telling Nick not to get involved with Bridget because he'll never love her like he does Brooke. Bridget storms in confronts Brooke, ripping into her for being so selfish. Bridget tells Brooke that she has to choose once and for all between Nick and Ridge.
It was so great to see Bridget lay into Brooke today and Ashley Jones really knocked it out of the park. She had just the right balance of rage and disgust in her performance. This was one of my favorite performances from Jones' I've ever seen.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES
Lead Actress - Deidre Hall (Marlena)
-Marlena injects Stefano with truth serum and delivers some extremely well written dialouge to a comatose Stefano, as she exacts SWEET revenge on the man who has tormented her family for years.
not always a huge fan of stephen nichols acting. but that was definitely a great scene...
and I luv Deidre Hall as a psycho. That is one episode she needs to submit for the 2009 emmy's, unless she can find 2 better episodes, she should use that one.
i know it's kind of a late reply. haha but i've been so busy with work, i'm a little behind on my show...*cries* i will catch up soon.

Lizzie looks for ways to escape the mansion as Alan keeps her there. She tells Beth why she moved back as Bill attempts to rescue her. Alan attacks her for trying to leave.
Marcy showed great range in this tape. She went from calmly and matter of factly telling Beth why she was doing it to the misery of being there. Then the joy as Bill showed up to the horror and fear when Alan threw her down on the bed. It wasnt a knock your socks off performance but it had alot of content and nuance.
General Hospital March 14, 2008 Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos-Jax) Lead Actress Dylan Cash (Michael Corinthos) Younger Actor
A scared Michael comes back to Port Charles and calls Carly to come and help him. He tells her he is the one who shot Kate and that everyone knew he was playing with guns but her. The warehouse explodes.
Laura was great in these scenes. Some of her best work in awhile. She tends to go a little over the top with Carly at times but not today. She was surprisingly subtle while still conveying all the emotions (shock, sadness, anger, worry, heartbreak, confusion) as she was processing what Michael was telling her.
Dylan was pretty good here too. I'm not normally a fan but in scenes with Wright he shines, especially in this case with her toned down performance. Its not a "standout" performance on its own but coupled with another good tape could make a nice reel for him.
Friday, March 14, 2008 Days of our Lives Best Younger Actress Rachel Melvin - Chelsea Brady
Chelsea drowns her woes over Bo's condition and the continuing pattern of death in her life in booze. Kate tries to help Chelsea sober up, but Chelsea runs out of the bar and later passes out on a park bench.
Usually, I don't like drunk performances, but I thought Melvin did a good job showing a young woman's frustration with the death that seems to surround her. With Chelsea being the donor match, Melvin will probably be getting more good material soon.

Melvin has had some VERY good scenes!

March 17th AND 18th Days of our Lives Best Younger Actress Rachel Melvin - Chelsea Brady
Dr. Jonas digs into Chelsea about being drunk in an attempt to get her angry and her adrenline running to get the alcohol out of her system. Chelsea feels an imense amount of guilt over her actions. On the 18th, Chelsea sneaks out of her bed to talk to her dad.
DAYS OF OUR LIVES Monday, March 17th Drama Series Writing Team Supporting Actor - Shawn Christian (Daniel) Younger Actress - Rachel Melvin (Chelsea)
Rachel Melvin was absolutely stellar in this episode. This storyline has truly giver her a chance to show her true talent. Her interactions with Lauren Koslow's Kate and Shawn Christian's Daniel in this episode was fabulous. Melvin was very emmy worthy here and was the MVP of this episode.
Shawn Christian has done a fabulous job since he started on DAYS. His scenes with Rachel Melvin were great. He truly did an outstanding job in this episode. He has seamlessly fit in with the entire DAYS cast in such short time. Daniel's determination to save Bo has been great to watch, and Christian has played it perfectly.
DAYS deserves a mention overall for this episode. It was collectively a very strong episode. Very well balanced and the perfect amount of drama, without being over the top or to showy.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES Tuesday, March 18th Drama Series Writing Team Lead Actress - Kristian Alfonso (Hope) Supporting Actor - Shawn Christian (Daniel) Younger Actress - Rachel Melvin (Chelsea)
Once again, another fabulous episode and an even better performance from Rachel Melvin as Chelsea in this episode. The scene where Chelsea went and saw her father were heartbreaking to watch and this was Melvin's finest performance since joining DAYS.
Once again Shawn Christian I feel was very good here. And Kristian Alfonso really broke my heart in this episode as well. I like that DAYS has played her role down a bit here. We have seen her in this position before and know how great she is at it. Alfonso has shown the perfect level of concern and I loved her reactions to Chelsea in this epiosode.
The show deserves a mention overall for this episode as well.

Best Lead Actress-Michelle Stafford as Phyllis Newman
Phyllis finds out that Daniel saw Danny and freaked. Phyllis tells Daniel and Danny that she's sorry and hopes they can reconcile.
Michelle was great in both her scenes with Graziadei and Damian. She brings honesty and genuine remorse to Phyllis, who admits she's done many wrong things in her life. The episode as a whole was good, especially the final scene with Gloria, but I thought the great Michelle was the only one who brought something worth mentioning to the table.

General Hospital March 20 and 21, 2008 Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos Jax) Lead Actress
Ingo Radamacher (Jasper Jax) Supporting Actor
Carly miscarries her and Jaxs' baby after being caught in the explosion.
From start to finish these were two great days for Laura. From the opening scenes Thursday with Claudia to the final scenes Friday with Jax/Sonny, she was spot on. She went through every emotion from anger to fear to hope to devastation and ultimately to her apologizing to Jax for losing their child, and she delivered on every one.
Ingo was pretty good here too. He was overshadowed a bit by Wright but he did a decent job of holding his own. Laying into Carly about Sonny costing them their child then in the next breath greiving with Carly over their baby showed more range from him than I've seen in a long time.
The Young and the Restless Tuesday, March 25th Drama Series Writing Team
The show was super entertaining today...the first day of the Restless Style party. Everything from this story to the Gloria/Jeff/Jana/Kevin stuff. The hour zipped by! IT was also pretty darn funny.
Days of Our Lives Monday March 24, 2008 Supporting Actress-Martha Madison
Madison was excellent as Belle said goodbye to Marlena and Sami in the diner.
WILLIAM PETERSEN: Well, this is a shock. The only explanation for this is that somehow in the last year, every one of you tried to act with rubber gloves and tweezers.

March 26th, 2008 As the World Turns Best Supporting Actor Trent Dawson
Henry forces Vienna to face reality, and talk seriously about her affair with Gray and their relationship with each other (Henry & Vienna's).
I thought Dawson's portrayal of Henry today was brilliant. He didn't have Henry yell, or become weak, desperate, or whiny when questioning Vienna's loyalty and voicing his insecurities. He played Henry as calm - but serious and hurt - and didn't go over the top with it. It was a very understated performance, which I thought was fitting for these scenes.

supporting actress: sarah brown,gh claudia is rescued from the rubble by sonny who leaves her unhappily rejected to find carly. she has a few choice words with robin at the hospital about why she doesnt want her treating her because she has hiv and later has a bonding moment with her brother as she once again talks about how sorry she was for leaving him and promises to not abandon him again.
this will go great with that first big emmy winning reel she gets. she went from desperate to vile to emotionally heartwarming all within one episode. some of you may compare this to the tape i cited y&r's michelle stafford for in 06, but i really believe this one was compelling compared to hers. there actually were quite a few citable reels with the other actors in guza's first week back.
Wednesday, March 26 Outstanding Supporting Actress: Colleen Zenk Pinter (Barbara Ryan, As the World Turns.)
Outstanding Younger ActorJesse Lee Soffer (Will Munson, ATWT.)
As Barbara told Will and Gwen and later Paul about her cancer, CZP was at her finest. Trying to be brave, yet clearly scared to death, she told her children the diagnosis and the pain she was going through. Later, choking back tears, she vowed to be determined to fight this disease. Soffer was clearly trying to hold it together, but his fear was palpable. His later scenes with Gwen, where he discussed everything he has lost was heartbreaking. Special mention goes out to Roger Howarth, who was the perfect supporting player to CZP in his scenes with her.
Wednesday, March 26, 2008 and Friday, March 28, 2008
Outstanding Supporting ActressEllen Dolan (Margo Hughes, As the World Turns.)
Two great episodes from Dolan. The first was Margo being held hostage by Grey and pleading for her family. Later, a sentimental moment with Tom, followed by her shooting of Grey. A perfect compliment to Friday's episode where Margo completely lost it while trying to scrub the blood out of her carpet. We didn't need flashbacks to know Margo was reliving her rape of 16 years ago as well as dealing with the fatal shooting from Wednesday. Dolan was right on the money in both of these very well-written ATWT episodes that show to me that when you let the vets do the work, they bring home the rewards!!
this is the frontrunning reel imo for this category.

supporting actor:rick hearst,gh ric is blackmailed into choosing between the waterfront properties or saving his girlfriend from prison and has another nasty exchange with his father about how he has never cared about him. he ultimately signs over the papers to him in disgust and tells him to get out.
i thought about posting this earlier but was gonna wait until something better, until i saw on the son boards that someone else also thought this was a frontrunning reel. it seems supporting actors work this year has not started off strong from the ones that have the stronger chances of a nod. this was a first.

Glad you cited this. He could have overplayed this, but he underplayed beautifully.
Ricky Paul Goldin as Gus Aitoro/Lead Actor Beth Ehlers as Harley Cooper/Lead Actress Crystal Chapell as Olivia Spencer/Lead Actress Jessica Leccia as Natalia Riviera/Supp Actress
Olivia, Harley, and Natalia learn that Gus has been in a motorcycle accident and is suffering severe trauma to the head.
I wasn't overly impressed with the crummy production of this episode. Gus was such a unique and eccentric character. He deserves a better farewell. But, like usual with GL, the acting was very solid. Goldin was especially heartbreaking today, limited to expressing all his emotions of fear, regret, and confusion through his eyes. All three ladies were also great. Loved the moment when Ehlers confesses that Gus is the "love of her life forever and ever and ever and ever" and when Leccia (in a surprisingly effective performance) quietly prays for Gus right before he enters surgery.
was just about to cite the 3-31 performance on GL myself.
RPG was definitly heartbreaking today and who knew Jessica Leccia could be so effective? Well when you are working with a crop of actors as good as the ones on GL, something is bound to rub off (still waiting for that to happen with Michelle Ray Smith however - then again, she didnt even annoy me today.)
But Goldin, Chappell, Leccia and defintly Ehllers were all extremely steller today. When the show is written like todays, all seems fine with the world. Can't they all be written as good as this week looks to be? Is it really THAT hard Kriezman?
