Victoria Rowell on Y&R Rumors: "All I Can Say Is There Is a Lot Goin' On"

The Twitterverse has been abuzz today with rumors of Victoria Rowell possibly reprising the role of Drucilla Barber Winters on The Young and the Restless. The speculation arose from a blog post on Mr. Brooks Genoa City News ,stating Rowell was reported to be in talks with the CBS sudser.

The fervor was spiked when Rowell herself tweeted the link from Mr. Brooks' website with the following teasing statement.

"a little gossip for you guys. dru's still hanging on that cliff."

Daytime Confidential contacted Rowell to see if she could shed any light on the situation.

"All I can say is there is a lot goin' on," Rowell responded via email.

Y&R needs Dru and better writing!

God, I hope this is true as well. Bergman, Stafford, and Rowell all better put their feelings aside if they want to see a ratings boost and to still be employed a few years from now.

For Rowell, I'd put up with the awful writing. PErhaps, TPTB realised that there are viewers who don't appreciate nearly all the characters in front burner storylines being vanilla flavored.

Frankly, I don't think bad writing for Drusilla will be much more bearable than bad writing without her. In her last year or so on the show, I thought Victoria Rowell's performances tended to be overwrought.

I doubt at this point that even Rowell returning could save this sinking ship of a show. I could only stomach about 20 minutes of yesterday's show. I was skipping past each scene that had characters in it I couldn't care less about. When I realized I had skipped through the first 1/3 of the show, I just deleted it. It's getting easier with each passing day to stop caring about this show. I appreciated the extra hour I had to devote to homework.

I hope so. I love VR. I don't watch Y&R anymore because I hate it but I will reconsider if my VR comes back. Please let this news be true. I love this woman.

I can't stand Rowell and I think she frequently overacted throughout her last stint (2002-07) on the show but if they're going to keep the duller than dishwater Winters family around Dru's desperately needed.

Since the entire family is played out as far as I'm concerned, the best thing TPTB could do is phase them out and create a new African-American family but that's not going to happen.

The family is only played out because the stories they're getting are uninteresting. You can change the names and faces, but a new family will very shortly find itself in the same boat without some real improvement.

I love Victoria Rowell, and she was the reason I stopped flipping through the channels and took notice the first time I watched Y&R. I hope she comes back, but her return will just be another missed opportunity if more attention is not paid to the details and the human emotion of the stories on the show.

I love VR. She's Stafford + Case + Thomas all rolled into one for me. Did I mention I that I love her? The writing though has been so bad of late -- with the notable exception of the Lily cancer story. If Dru is tied into that then it might work. I still don't trust MAB though. Knowing her, Dru will be a klepto drunk suddenly gay serial killer beaver head sporting trollop who sexes up Devon since he aint blood kin.

Fire Sheffer the Heifer. Hire a real writer like Carlvati and then brink back VR.

I would love if Rowell would return. Y&R needs her and should elevate the bad writing and would galvanize any story she touches. Looking forward to good news!!!!!!

I'd have to agree. Rowell, is a fabulous actor. I hope this rumour is true, and she returns.

I really detest some of the storylines at the moment, and can barely watch. But, I would watch Rowell.

The Rowell lingo AND her hats are all that I'm waiting for. NELSON - post that interview!! (or are you waiting on a confirm that the deal is done and shes coming back).
I also ff and then skipped most of yesterdays show. I think a lot of us have been VERY quick to say the show is horrible when not so long ago we all called it perfect. Things do ebb and flow and I trust MAB and that things are building and that she does have a vision. Tricia Cast, MTS, Stafford, Case, Walton, and Cooper --- this show has great talent and if Rowell comes back then . . . well its just cake.

Any scene where Dru and Phyliss are battling is great. Have Sharon battle MJ. Dru vs. Phyliss is the real deal.

Update of some sorts. Rowell tweeted "3 actors are working OT 2 keep Dru OUT! And an inside source told me who. Word is Lily don't want her Mamma - read between the lines."

All I have to say is and since they are recasting Malcolm I can see them doing the same w/Dru.

MAB get a handle on your show. Rowell has said the ball is in your court so tell those actors to get w/the program and get her back.

Wow! How unprofessional of her to "tweet" that. No wonder people don't want her back on the set. Plus, by calling out Crystal Khalil like that, she would have to work OT to convince the audience of their loving mother/daughter relationship. Seems to me like this is a woman who goes beyond speaking her mind and mouths off without thinking. That's got to be fun to work with.

Jesus! I am so sick of this woman! She is over-rated! OVER-RATED! She acts like she is gods gift to Acting. Just recast the damn role and put this bitch in her place. It is pretty east to see that NO ONE wants to work with her from Y&R!

I'll say it again. Some of the cast members over at Y&R are so petty and childish!

I bet the three are Khalil, Michelle Stafford and Peter Bergman.
