We just got the DVDs of Emmy episodes being viewed by judges in these categories:

I'm getting three sets of DVDs in the acting and drama series races, but only one in the others. Please tell us which categories you'd like to judge. Remember, that requires that you not only agree to view ALL episodes on the DVDs promptly, but then you agree to give us a detailed analysis, complete with your evaluation of where that Emmy race stands.

We're only getting one set of DVDs in the categories for talk show, game show, morning show, etc. In some cases, if you are chosen to be a judge, you must agree to share those DVDs with other Derbyites -- mail them the DVDs when you're done.

Please PM Boidiva012 to let him know what categories you're interested in.

Of course i'd love to judge any category Tom, but would especially love to view either Drama Series or Supporting Actress.

I always love being a part of this, I usually take an entire Saturday to judge; my friends know not to call me because I usually send out a mass text. I would love my shot at the biggies, series, writing, any of the acting races, but will be grateful with whatever I get.

If you are able to get someone to copy and need judges I would love to be on the list.

Awww I love when we do this every year.

I'm unfortunately going to have to opt out though because: a) I'm not really invested in the nominees this year & b) I don't really have the time.

Look forward to everyone else's analysis though. It would be cool if we can get some non-soap viewers to judge as well.

Yes, i too always look forward to judging. I don't have any of the equipment needed to copy DVDS but i would love to judge and i look forward to organizing this again this year.

I will be happy to do it again, since I have free time on my hands now...

I believe I can help with the actual copying of these DVD's for people.

I am not quite sure what Tom means by two drives because I can do this with only one.

I have a program on my laptop that copies DVD's and saves them on a file. It's called DVDFAB. I can then insert a blank DVD-R and copy the file to that DVD while keeping any menu screens and such. I can do this with either DVDFAB or Nero (two programs Ihave). It is a very good procedure and I have used it to make copies of things I have recorded for friends.

If Tom needs me, I would be more than happy to make copies of the DVD's for the folks who want to be judges.

I don't have the knowledge or equipment to help duplicate the DVDs. But I would love love love to a judge.

I'm not terribly picky, but I'm most interested in Drama Series, Writing, Lead Actor, Lead Actress, Supporting Actress, and Younger Actress. I'd be glad to judge any, though, and if there really aren't a lot of people interested in doing it, I would gladly tackle more than one category!

If you need more judges, sign me up. I let my soap watching lapse, so I have no real investment in anyone.

I also don't have ability to copy the dvd's, but if the judges aren't already picked, i would love to do series, writing, and the younger actor and actress categories!

I do not have the capability to copy DVDs but would love to help. (I had so much fun last year doing the writing categories)

We already know what the nominess sumbitted. We can watch them on Youtube. So will the DVD's just be the episodes edited down to just show the work from the nominees?

^^Yep, they're edited it down. They are the official disks that the judging panel receives.

I'd like to be a judge for Lead Actress, Supporting Actress, Morning Program, Talk Show Informative, Talk Show Host, and/or Talk Show Entertainment with a slight preference to have Lead Actress included LOL.

I would love to judge this year. I ended up missing out with the dvd snafu last year. I am open to anything but I would prefer supporting actor or writing.

Ohdear617 -- thanks for offering to help with the DVDs. Turns out that NATAS is sending me some more. Whew! (THANK YOU, NATAS!) But we're still going to be cramped a bit for DVDs. We have enough for the acting categories -- three copies each, plus best drama series, but whoever agrees to judge the talk show categories MUST agree to watch the DVDs immediately upon receipt and then mail them to the next judge in other to share. That's the easiest way to do this.

So, in other words, please tell us what categories you're interested in -- post here or else PM Boidiva. When PMing Boidiva, please give him all of your contact info and REAL NAME so we can send along the DVDs.

Don't be greedy. Remember, if everybody asks for best actress and drama series, all but three will get them. Expect a rush on those races. Think strategically. Lay an early claim on some less glamourous categories and you're more likely to get them.

Who will take best morning program? - for example.

I'd love to help out if possible....I'll take any category (whatever you need help with)
