I can't think of a single Newman character whose death would make for a good storyline right now. These days, I'd kill Nick in a heartbeat, but he "died" in a plane crash just a couple of years ago, so that would be mighty redundant. Killing off Victoria I fear would only be to prolong that unwatchable art heist storyline. Victor? I don't think so. Adam? After all that controversy around the Engen/Muhney recast, they're just going to kill him? I don't think would work. Summer? Nope, Cassie's death was one the great soap storylines, let's hope they're not dipping back into that well.

Maybe Nikki? She's not technically a Newman since she's been divorced from Victor, but she might still count. Is this how they're writing her out? Or did she re-sign? I lose track.

I hope they kill off JT - who dies with the knowledge of Adam's true nature. This will free up a useless character and set up Victoria to be her vivacious old self again, with the newly arranged and dangerous Deacon Sharpe.

If I had to guess I'd guess the Newman is Victoria. AH is pregnant again so they will need to write her out somehow (at least for awhile). Also Nelson kept saying Heather Tom wouldnt be returning to Y&R we all assumed it was because of behind the scenes politics etc. but maybe its because Victoria wont be there anymore...Just a guess, I could be way off.

I was convinced Slezak was a goner. Ridiculous about Strassr. She's been fantastic even as they try to destroy her character.

Let me see if I have this straight. YR is going to pair school boy looking Rafe with a nearly 50 year old man when Michael Muhney (who is fifteen years younger than Bierdz) looks like a child molester in their scenes. Engen even looked too old.

Amelia Heinle is probably early in her second trimester so we won't be seeing her having to take maternity leave until near the end of the year so that have nothing to do with this.

i know LML wrote Nick dying which turned out to be good story when it happened for a couple weeks. Katharines death and everything that came from it was great. Having Nikki "die" is a bit over"kill" . . . but it really does give everyone great stuff to play - to see Nick and Victoria grieve for their mom will be such good TV. I think Amelia may get a chance to shine with that AND it will mess with Victor a ton - then when Nikki comes back the slate is clean for everything hes given her crap about and it will complicate things with Ashley.

this show needs Melody. Even in yesterdays show when Phyllis was getting arrested Melodys reactions were great. She shines in any scenes and is ALWAYS present. I watched that scene about 5 times today and just loved everyone in it.

Nelson- The Robin Strasser info was a little off. Robin took a 63% pay cut when she returned to OLTL in 2003.

A 63% cut is HUGE for a daytime actress, and that was in 2003!

I figure Robin will stay- Even $175,000 is better than being a 63? year old unemployed actress in this economic climate..

I can't imagine them killing off Summer Newman since it was only a few years ago they killed off Cassie. And not to sound cruel, but i don't think i would shed the tears for Summer that i did for Cassie because i watched Camryn Grimes grow up in the role. I have no real connection to Summer like i did Cassie.

My guess is Y&R is planning on killing Nikki ( who, if i had to take a guess, will "expose" Mary Jane as Patty and the one who poisoned Summer) and Mary Jane will keep a "supposedly dead" Nikki hostage somewhere until the lame writers can write MTS back in the story).

I am soooo sick of soaps, especially Y&R, "killing off" characters and them bringing them back. Tired old plot and makes the writers look like unimaginative hacks. Bell and Shefer should be asamed of themselves if they go this route.

The only other solution would be if Mary Jane (thinking Sharon is carrying Jack's baby), does something to her which causes Sharon to lose her baby (which is a Newman after all). Possible!

As for the blind item about the East Coast EP and his "harassing" of his cast....i would say Goutman, too...he looks like someone who would be sitting next to Pee Wee Herman in a porn theatre (No offense Chris)

as for young star misbehaving, i have no idea who this is. this could be anyone. brandon barasch is in a lot of those sn promos representing gh, so i dont think its him.

i never bought into sleazak being let go for a second, and please if reva and josh cross over to atwt, i hope kmh leaves! she will surely get less airtime then. but i thought kz doesnt want jeva back together? i mean i could see her giving in to it because of gl's cancellation but would she want to play this romance on another show for a longer time? i did hear some rumor on another board that reva was going to be on atwt in december, but i got no source. face it, atwt is done.

I can't picture Josh and Reva in Oakdale and the last thing ATWT needs is Zimmer taking up airtime when the show already has vets who are neglected.

Does it really matter who they kill on Y&R? They'll either return from the dead right away or come back 20 years later.

I guess I'm glad Ken Corday addressed the issue of hiring back old school vets after just so recently firing the very popular vets who were on the show, but man does he come off as a douchebag. I'm looking at Marlena and co.'s ousters and Crystal Chappell and Wally Kurth's hiring as separate things, but I know a lot of fans are not and they're pretty p*ssed about it all. I'm excited to have Carly returning, but just to throw it out there for any DAYS exec who might see this, I would still rather have Marlena back than any of these other returning fan faves. Just saying.
