In her never-ending quest to take any job rather than return to GH, now Vanessa Marcil is hosting a reality show about makeup?!?! Is there any doubt left that Marcil doesn't really want to go back to GH? Not that I blame her.
It surprises me that DAYS is thinking of getting rid of Bryan Datillo. No, they don't know what to do with Lucas, but they don't know what to do with ANYONE right now. I was thinking that the hoopla surrounding Hope and then maybe Bo being police commissioner meant that they were getting rid of Roman, the only logical choice for the job. Lucas irritates me, but they shouldn't get rid of him.
Actually, all of the DAYS news was bad news. No Eric Brady? No Martha Madison? Another love interest for Melanie? Ugh.
Judi Evans selling burial plots, and last week learning about Steve Burton side business selling wellness food -- what the hell is going on when daytime's Emmy-winning talent are literally not giving up their day jobs? The daytime industry is not taking care of its actors.
"A movie is not good because it arrives at conclusions you share, or bad because it does not. A movie is not about what it is about. It is about how it is about it: about the way it considers its subject matter, and about how its real subject may be quite different from the one it seems to provide." - Roger Ebert, from the introduction to "Awake in the Dark" (2006)
i don't watch DOOL often, if at all, but i would be very sad to see Bryan Ditillo go--i've always found him to be one of the most likeable actors on daytime, and he's so cute as well.
Congrats to Kathy Griffin on her second consecutive emmy win!

Daytime actors have steady work, but they have not had big strides in salaries because of the so called decline in ratings.
middle of the road for a daytime actor is a 2 episode a week at $2,200.00 per episode. That is 104 episodes a year $228,800.00. Minus taxes, 10% for the agent, 10% for the manager and Guild Dues.
That leaves them with about 45% take home around $110K per year and they have to spend money on their appearance, and live a certain way which is costly. It is not cheap to live in the parts of LA and New York where they need to live to be in the scene.
It they are front burner or a fan fave they make more. Most contract actors come to daytime with a 80 episode a year at $1100.00 per episode to start. If they are a name then more.

Wow — great analysis Emmy nominee. Actually, I'm doing something groundbreaking soon: I'm revealing the top paid actors in the biz. Some will shock. Finally, the financial sector of the biz is calling me up!

Okay, I admit the siren is Doug Davidson. LOL! NOT. No, it's not someone on Y&R.
LOL! I can't help myself today. There was a lot of funny stuff in your SUDS report this week. Especially the Vanessa Marcil thing. Her taking The Lipstick Jungle gig I can understand because even though that show isn't great, its still a network primetime gig. But a Lifetime reality show about makeup artists instead of going back to a show where the Head Writer falls all over himself to mention you in every interview he gives? That's hilarious. But then again, she's probably got the right idea. Given the state of GH right now I'd stay as far away as possible too.

Stop teasing Nelson...you know how obsessed I am thinking Martha Byrne would kill as Cassie Callison and pitted against Robin Strasser. They may have to check my blood pressure if I ever got to see these two light up the screen. Oh the soap delight!
For Your Cosideration Outstanding Drama Series One Life To Live
That was a tease — I have no clue if Martha is being considered as Cassie OR if they plan on bringing the character back. Though Martha did hint to me OLTL may have been interested her as Marty.

I guess that explains why RPG and BE looked extremely ****ed in the pics from their event. Especially after advertising all the other GL cast members that were to be there. It was pretty clear in the pics something was wrong. Thanks for the rest of the story Nelson.
