Beemer: He really likes her! I also think that Owen saw Nick was getting into her head and getting her to doubt her relationship with him. Owen wanted to step up to the plate and show her that she has no reason to doubt him, that he's willing to go all the way and he's willing to stay here."
LOL! HOwen proposed to Jackie after discovering Jackie owns Jackie M. and being fired since he's a gold digging whore. He proposed because he was out of a job, wanted it and wanted more of Jackie's money.
"Weekly: But he also got fired because Nick presented Jackie into it. Did that play into the proposal?
Beemer: She fired Owen, and then Owen proposed to her. I think that was him saying, "Well, it's obvious Nick is getting to Jackie and coming between the two of us." And she ends up saying, "Yes." "
Beemer is delusional to shift the blame of the proposal on Nick. And Jackie even uttered "Oh, what the hell. I'll marry you." How she phrased her answer is very telling and apropo.
"Weekly: So what's ahead for the duo? What kinds of challenges will they be facing?
Beemer: (He yaks on incessantly blah ...........) So being engaged doesn't change them much from being just boyfriend and girlfriend. Until they're married, Owen doesn't stand a chance. Nick is going to be all over him like white on rice and trying to destroy that relationship."
So Jackie and HOwen are solid from Nick's interference once they're married? Has he ever heard of divorce? And marriages on soaps, especially B&B, are as regular as a woman's time of the month.
I like these SOW Closer Looks. I think it give us insight on how the actor sees the character. That said, don't confuse your dislike of Owen and his shenanigans or gold-diggery (and I am no fan of this s/l) with the actor who plays the role. Brandon Beemer has been nothing but wonderful, smart, and level-headed in any of my interactions with him.
There's no confusion at all. There are many characters I dislike (B&B's Donna and Katie) but the actors are just actors for me. I really dislike Y&R's potty mouth Michelle Stafford, but she's extremely talented and Phyliss is very enthralling.
But Beemer is just an idiot. He's clearly delusional about HOwen since his take of HOwen is not how HOwen's being written. That whore proposed after knowing Jackie owns Spectra and after being fired. The first thing he wanted after his proposal was his job back.
HOwen was not in love with Jackie. B&B portrayed Bridget struggling with her feelings for Nick. HOwen always maintained that Jackie was only his fantasy and he wanted a future with Bridget. Even after the night Jackie and HOwen's disgusting kept affair was revealed, HOwen lied to Bridget about liking Jackie threatening his job. He hated it and hated her interfering in his dates with Bridget.
And for Beemer to think Jackie marrying HOwen will secure their relationship shows how idiotic Beemer is. Soap marriages end in divorce majority of the time. HOwen is an opportunistic whore, but Beemer thinks he's playing the hero. Beemer's stupid. And the ratings continue to dip ever since Jackie and HOwen were front and center. 2 actors that can't act in a disgusting storyline equals ratings disaster.
