Thanks, Nelson. I think Jeanne Cooper's statements were most interesting. What she said of Melody Thomas Scott, and of category placement.

Cooper's statements about placement are pure ****. Meryl Streep going supporting in 2003 didn't prevent CZJ from winning. Cooper going supporting didn't keep Livingston from winning. This woman is deluded. The only way she wins is when her show cheats for her.

You got some fabulous stuff Nelson. Thank you! Jeanne Cooper's excuse for submitting herself as a LEAD actress is perposterous. Talk about entitled and high on one's own flailing, old breaches. Get over yourself woman...even the aforementioned Streep knows when she is a SUPPORTING actress.

I agree Crystal, but like I said now this saga is over, so we can now focus on MTS, and KKL.

I hope the saga is over, but I suspect she'll submit herself once again. She appears to be that delusional.

Nelson

LOVED your line about the NBC Party being the only one you're not banned from. LMAO!

As for Granny Cooper, i am finally glad she won, but she is so full of **** when talking about her category placement. So she doesn't think it's right if she places herself in Supporting and takes a slot away from an actress truly deserving....and correct me if i'm wrong here, didn't she do just that by placing herself in Lead????

Ego my ass!

On the DC podcast, I thought I heard you say that Barbara Bloom was at the ABC party. Was she actually invited or did she crash?

I'm sure she was invited, but she probably was there to try to steal back her talent!!!!!

Frons probably invited her so she could see how happy Ricky and Beth are at their new home. LOL

The absolute NERVE of Jeanne Cooper. I hope she's proud of herself for stealing Nicole Forester's Emmy because it's the only one she'll ever get!

Ummm, yeah. I know he was probably joking, but still yeah...

Tom's comment was very distasteful. There's joking and then there's taking it way too far.

Jeanne Cooper can go to hell for thinking she can justify her ridiculous category placement. She's nuts.

The Pelphrey comment is HILARIOUS. Slap her then Tom.

Eh, the Jeanne Cooper comment didn't phase me as much, because I know MANY other LEAD actors on daytime are just as vain. I know it doesn't excuse her, but it doesn't really bother me.

OTOH the Pelphrey comment was just downright disgusting. "Slap that woman around." I mean, are you F.U.C.K.I.N.G kidding me!!! Mad Mad

I'm sorry but the Jeanne Cooper hate is getting kind of old. Did she deserve the Emmy this year? No. Am I glad she finally has an Emmy now? Yes. Tony Geary just picked up his 6th freakin' Emmy for a year where he wasn't exactly leading any story...he takes, what, four months a year off, the writers hand him Emmy-tailored episodes, and did I mention, he has won 5 times before (including the absolute robbery a few years back when Grant Alexander & Eric Braeden were FAR more deserving, turning in stunning performances that can't even be compared to Nicole Forrester's work in 2007)?! Throwing Cooper a bone for her contribution to the genre doesn't realy bother me in that context.

And if we're all up in arms about category placement, let's spread the criticism over to Gina Tognoni. She wins Supporting Actress when she was she was nothing short of Lead in 2007...one can argue she STOLE the Emmy from a true supporting player like Evans or Bregman....but instead we get high fives and enthusiastic 'hell yeah's' on this board.

Let's be consistent and hold everyone up to the same criteria.

Amen Arias... I can't take this award show seriously anymore, so when someone good wins, I'm happy. No watter what category. No matter if they deserved it this year or last.... but did once. Idiots. In. Charge.

Ditto nbgemini! Like almost all awards shows, the Daytime Emmy's are flawed and no system will satisfy everyone...I think Daytime is more complicated because there is just so much material to weigh and assess - not just a 2 hour movie or 22 primetime episodes. It will never be perfect. I think bringing in daytime journalists, such as yourself, may be something to consider...you watch all the soaps on a regular basis and know what's up.
