One Life to Live: Ty Treadway Returns! Submitted by Regan on August 27, 2008 - 11:49am.
Ty Treadway (Colin, One Life to Live; Soap Talk) is making his way back to Llanview! Soap Opera Digest Online reports that Treadway makes his return in a dream sequence as a game show host.
Ty Treadway returns to ONE LIFE TO LIVE as the villainous Colin MacIver (who died in 2001) to host a game show aptly titled SO YOU THINK YOU CAN BE SHANE MORASCO'S FATHER. The dream sequence, which airs Oct 1-2, focuses on Rex and his not-so-good life as he is on the operating table being treated for a gun wound. The sequences were filmed on ABC's WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE set.

Why not? I would have prefered Regis, but Ty's ok. I just wish someone would realize that Rex & Gigi are not strong enough to be the big "A" couple that Frons thinks they are. Not enough chemistry (both of them) and acting talent (her) to carry it off.
While I like Ty...I'm SOOOO over Ron C. trying to write this Campy Crap! That is not the OLTL I love and not the OLTL I will watch. You're walking a fine fine line RC! The golden boy is starting to rust!

OLTL is getting completely stale and Ron Carlivati is showing just how overrated of a writer he truly is. The show has been in campy excess for a good two months, it's time to cool off the excessive camp for the rest of the year. Not to mention, the other storylines on the show are hardly interesting anymore.
As for Ty coming back, who cares? Rex didn't even know Colin.
I still have faith in Carlivati, who has done more good for soaps in a year than just about anybody behind the scenes. But yes, he's having a rough summer. The Mendora storyline, the ridiculous time travel storyline, and now the return of an actor who, let's be honest, was never very good to begin with. Time to get back to emotional family storylines and stay away from the goofball crap. This isn't "Passions."
But I disagree with many of the above about Rex and Gigi. I like them as a couple and I like both actors. They're admittedly not among the medium's best actors, but they demonstrate a lot of personality and are adept at comedy. I like having them around and I like the way Carlivati writes them -- well, time travel notwithstanding. Should they be front and center as often as they are? No. Carlivati should be careful not to get so caught up in ReGi or Gex or MoRexco -- do they have a cheesy abbreviated moniker yet? -- that he forgets about the rest of his canvas. Like Bo, and Nora, and Viki, and Dorian.
"A movie is not good because it arrives at conclusions you share, or bad because it does not. A movie is not about what it is about. It is about how it is about it: about the way it considers its subject matter, and about how its real subject may be quite different from the one it seems to provide." - Roger Ebert, from the introduction to "Awake in the Dark" (2006)
