The Exorcist, Summer Wishes Winter Dreams, Carrie, Turning Point, On Golden Pond, Frances, Children of a Lesser God
(that's through the 80s - not sure of all of those)
Basically - the two times that is has happened probably are less than would happen by random drawing of winners - in other words, there is absolutely no predictive value of having mother/daughter roles helping then tamdem both win.
I can see how you don't but having thankfully SeanFlynn has mentioned numerous nominations of mother/daughters...thats a trend for sure...and if I jumped the gun on the actual # of wins...then I am sorry for that...but you will disagree with this post also...

In a couples cases, one of them won.
It has nothing to do with anybody's chances of winning.
Aggie was Belinda's aunt in "Johnny Belinda" not her mother if I recall correctly.
Anyways, How dare you guys attack Oscarnutlen. He is a member of the academy and is good friends with Meryl Streep herself!
hmmm....How ever would he tell her that he is voting for Gabby instead?

I hope Swank does not get in. It would be the equivalent of Cate Blanchett getting nominated for The Golden Age. Very few people look back on that nomination kindly.
Is it confirmed that Marion Cotillard is Lead in Nine? if she is, then she gets my last spot for Lead Actress and if she's supporting (which I hope) then she's tied for #1 with Mo'Nique.

Yeah, I also read she's confirmed by the film's production office as the only female being campaigned for lead. The rest of the ladies are going supporting.
And after that we can Ketchup like tomato. We can make love in Italy in the grotto. Fresh off the jet at the met, they screamin' bravo, bravo, bravo.

I just found out about it from the latest issue of EW. They made their early Oscar picks and Cotillard's name was listed in the Lead category.
As I wrote , an insider from NINE told me that Marion is going to be campaigned as Lead, actually she is going to be in the cover of many european magazines alone promoting the film, he also said that in many countries the poster will have Kidman´s name beside Day Lewis because her star power worldwide.

You're welcome.
I really like that prediction, but I just know that Helen Mirren is going to get in the way with The Last Station...
In my predictions I sacrificed Marion Cotillard for Helen Mirren, but I wish it could in fact be a Bullock, Cotillard, Mulligan, Sidibe, Streep lineup...
Bullock has a lot of things going for her to get a nomination. Cotillard has already won an Oscar so far and Bullock, for as long she has been in this biz, still has not recieved her first nomination, and now that she has strong buzz for The Blind Side, I think many voters may put Bullock ahead of Cotillard when it comes to ballots and therefore she can finally get that nomination. This is what happens sometimes. But I do support a Bullock nomination for now! I can't wait to see the film and I would love to see Bullock get her first nomination as well! This really is turning out to be her year!

I wouldn't mind if Bullock had "Oscar nominee" to her credit b/c she really proved herself that she can do drama, in a surprise/underatted supporting turn in Crash.

Yes, she really should've gotten in for that role.
