Its actually not a terrible song - i can see it getting nominated, mainly becuase of j. hud. - but at the beginning of the song it just seemed a bit off to me, but by the middle it got better. Not bad...

I like the song, and at the moment would not be mad if it were nominated for Best Song...(I am also really hoping Pat Field gets her second nod for this film).
Two questions:
1) Who wrote the music/lyrics?
2) Why, at the end of the clip does it say "interpreted by Jennifer Hudson"? Has someone done it before?
Daytime Emmys Congratulations to Jeanne Cooper, Kristoff St. John and OLTL for its writing/directing wins BOOOO to the losses of Heather Tom and Van Hansis and Rachel Melvin
Congratulations to In the Heights and Patti Lupone BOOOO to the losses of Martha Plimpton, Laurie Metcalfe and Patrick Stewart

I hope that before you try to say that something sucks, you should have clicked the link and check it out for yourself.
Moving on, it's a good decent song, but I don't know if the Academy will nominate it. it's too hip for their taste, and we know that AMPAS' meaning of hip are rap songs about someone who dream to be famous.
It would be nice though if it did get nommed, but I must say that it's really better than most of the Original Song winners this decade.

Um, that's why I asked if it was the Fergie song. I didn't want to say it was bad if it was a different song. Yeesh.

yeah, i thought that was pretty clear from the get-go. it's funny how some people can't understand basic english. and for that, i second your "Yeesh". hahaha.
that said, count me as one of the few people who ACTUALLY like "Labels or Love" (Fergie's song) more than "All Dressed Up In Love".

contrary to what your narrow mind wants you to believe, just because it's a Jennifer Hudson song, it doesn't mean that i'm automatically predisposed to dislike it. gimme some credit, i'm not THAT shallow.
besides, i don't like Jennifer Hudson AS AN ACTRESS. she lacks depth and emotion, and i will forever consider her one of the worst Oscar winners in history. BUT as far as her singing goes, she's amazing. she definitely left waaaaay too early when she was on "American Idol".
that said, i still stand by my opinion that Fergie's "Labels Or Love" is the better song. it's fluffier, edgier, sexier, sassier, poppier, more fun, and IMO, it's a much better fit for a movie like Sex And The City. the fact that the song sampled the show's theme makes it even more enjoyable.
the melody and arrangement of "All Dressed Up In Love" is pretty good, if not a bit forgettable and generic. and Jennifer Hudson's got a powerful big voice. but all her vocal histrionics make the song feel too heavy and over-the-top to be in such a light summer movie like SATC.
YEESH.

Then instead of asking, why'nt ya just click on the link and see for yourself?
What, do you hire assistant clickers, and it's they're day off?
I oughta DRAFT you!!

Yeah that's why you resort to childish name calling. Who's the dyslexic pig that you are calling again?
And in that state, I'm still being called narrow minded.

This isn't the theme song. This is the song that plays on the end credits...which means it might not even be eligible for the Best Song category. Either way...gimme a break, this isn't getting nominated. It's not very good either...which isn't my reason that it won't be nominated (crappy songs get nominated all the time...check out the 3 Enchanted songs), it's just not the Academy's cup of tea.
Emmy FYCs: (more to come) Julia Louis-Dreyfus, The New Adventures Of Old Christine

The 3 Enchanted songs are all guilty pleasures of mine!
Anyways, I Move On from Chicago and Travelin Thru from Transamerica were song from end credits. It doesn't matter as long as it was played atleast a minute on the movie and was written intentionally for the movie.
