Is it John Huston for Treasure of the Sierra Madre and Prizzi's Honor?

If Mike Nichols or Francis Coppola were to be nominated again, they'd set a new record (there are a few other possibilities, but they are the most conceivable over the next couple years).
Who am I? I'm a composer who may be best known for my work on Broadway, however, I have never won a Tony (out of 5 nominations). I have won 3 Oscars however (out of 8 nominations).
(yeah, not all that difficult, but it's a been a long A Friday haha)

Won 2 for Pocahontas and one for Prince of Egypt. Won nothing for Wicked or Pippin though.
Your go pacinofan!

Popular! I guess HE'S not popular—with that Tony crowd LOL!
No question, just a dumb joke, please, carry on!
Personally I think every time Stephen Schwartz lost a Tony he deserved to lose. "Wicked" has a few great songs... and a lot of clunkers. The clever "Avenue Q" was more deserving. I like the music in "Pippin" a lot, even though it is little dated, but "A Little Night Music" has one of Broadway's most beautiful scores and totally deserved its win.

Yup, I still listen to the original cast recording of A Little Night Music—Sondheim's a genius!
What Academy Award nominated actor, and former Union representative, is responsible for the following rather extreme quote...
My entire family were Democrats all our lives. But because how furious I was about the previous administration and the particular person running that administration, I turned in my card to become a Republican because I did not want to be known as a Democrat under that person's regime. I'm a traditionalist. I have certain values that I live by, and he practices none of those things, so he can never be what I consider to be a great man. But I don't go around saying he's not my president. He's out of office now, so I can say that I never truly accepted him in my heart. And I'll never say anywhere down the line, I'll never reflect back on this moment in time and say it was a good period for the American people. Because the economy was good, anything goes, and that troubles me. I think many of them are very comfortable with money and don't have to subject themselves to anything other than say, hey - maybe I'm guilty for having all this, and I want to make believe I'm splitting it with the less fortunate. We talk about Hollywood being pro-labor, yet about 70% of our industry has been farmed out to Canada, meaning we are losing jobs like crazy. Where's organized labor asking how we can allow such a thing to happen? The producers know that if they go to Canada, they can make a picture for one-third the price they can in the U.S.
... Name the actor, the film for which he was Oscar nominated and extra points if you can name what Union he represented.

Gone with the wind was the first feature length film with color to win an oscar in 1939, but in 1937 "Give me Liberty" won the oscar for Best Short Subject Color.
