Not always right, but no fool either

That was a year after Give Me Liberty, so also is not correct.

Remember color films go all the way back to 1895, and even in the silent era there were some primitive color cinematography.

The answer is a full-length live action feature film.

That would be the one - shot in Technicolor in its very early stages - much easier to do in a controlled interior-dominated film with static images as this early talkie had.

Over to you....

I'll ask one then

Usually the best song winners only win in song or score categories. Name the last 2 people to win Best Song that also won another Oscar, and tell me what those Oscars were for (one won 2 Oscars, the other won 1 other Oscar)

Barbra Steisand is the easy one.

Fran Walsh is the other.

I'll ask....

We've all heard this before, "Mary is the most common name for women in the world"....maybe it's true, maybe it isn't...But it is true for actresses and their nominated characters...

But what about the men? What's the most common character name (first name) for nominated actors? (lead and supporting)...

Unless it is clear cut this is going to be even tougher than it always is.

If you are relying on the Academy's data base, there are a lot of characters whose first names, although used in the films, are not listed

Well it depends where people look....where I looked, and it's fairly obvious and easy place to look these days, every character's name is listed right next to the nominee's name.

I guess this too will be a test for "who has the best database to look in"...

By the way, in my count, variations of a name count as one name...Mike should be Michael...

I'll take a shot and say John.

I hope The Office wins as Best Comedy Series for this year's Emmy Awards.

Not counting all those who had first names but are not listed in the Academy database (there are many) it looks like it is John if all Jacks and Johanns are included, if not Joseph/Joey/Joe. There are a lot of Henrys (many kings) and not a few James/Jim/Jimmys as well.

I was thinking if not John, it's James or Jack.

One of the J's probably.

Jack is usually a form of John, although not always - another reason this will be a tough one to determine a really winner.

John it is Iskolar.

I counted 25....didn't count Jacks as Johns...but still John wins...

James/Jim/Jimmy came close...

As for my example of Mike and Michael...several Michaels...just one Mike....

I should have won the Oscar for this film, after all, I won my only Cannes prize for it. Even the eventual winner admitted that I should have won it. Many called it my best work, albeit, it was a little seen film.

Who am I & what is the title of the film?
