There's a thread for San Sebastian so it seems right to have one for the US' second oldest one.
Indiewire has a decent panel of reputable indie/net critics - this is their survey at this point of reviews:

Tony Scott of the NYTimes has a festival think piece today; his main focus is on how grim the selection is, with White Ribbon as the perfect example (he says nothing more about the film; he didn't go to Cannes, so his reaction otherwise is a question mark). But when the headline is "Wallowing in Misery for Art's Sake" and you start with White Ribbon, it doesn't sound like he's crazy about it.
"Sweet Grass" is actually called "Sweet Rush". there is another film called Sweet Grass out this year, it isn't the Wajda and it isn't playing at the NYFF this year.
Very surprised to see Around a Small Mountain with such a great score, it was panned when it opened @ venice.
Glad to see Ade's film getting the recognition though, she deserves it
"Notorious was nice, but it’s not in the color purple range" "Angels and Demons may get nominated for cinematography the imagery was profound" "District Nine will definitely win for best foreign film it made money and everyone loved it" ~ 8movies
