She is so hot right now with her emmy wins and Sarah Palin skits and hopefully higher ratings for 30 Rock. Not to mention she has a connection with film (Baby Momma, and should've-been-nominated Mean Girls) unlike Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, etc. I think we may be looking at our next Oscar host...
Yes, she's had a record-breaking year, but her hosting abilities may be view as too stoic compared to past hosts Billy Crystal and Steve Martin. In fact, stoicism is the reason I'm not the biggest Jon Stewart as-host fan.

Tina as Oscar host wouldn't work. Yes, she funny and has great comedic timing, I just can't see her hosting. She's not a stand-up comedian, and they seem to make the best hosts.

Even with Bob Hope, who sometimes did nothing but stood at a podium, he kept the zingers flying a mile a minute.
I want someone who has the same energy that Hugh Jackman had during the Tonys. He made the transitions more entertaining than the musical performances.
GO RICKY GERVAIS!

Why not Hugh Jackman, then? His work on the Tony Awards proves him to be a completely charming and entertaining host.

You know, as soon as I posted that, I started thinking the same thing. Heck, if Australia is as epic as we think it might be, it might boost him into the eyes of the producers. And because I think he's one of the most underutilized actors working (and sometimes, sadly, not working) in the biz today, I'd love to see him take center-stage at the Oscars. He could be a load of fun.

The rise in ratings for "Saturday Night Live" primarily due to Tina Fey's Palin sketches would suggest otherwise. So would all the hits to NBC.com to watch those sketches.

Win or lose, Fey is done with Palin as of November 4th. She has said as much herself. If McCain wins someone else will take over as Palin.
As for it getting old - the record ratings, the millions of internet hits for the clips on Hulu and Youtube, the thousands of articles, commentaries and blog entries about it attest to the fact that it is anything but "old."
And like it or not, it will go down as one of the greatest political bits SNL has ever done.

That Sarah Palin bit is getting very old. Mikead is right on point with that comment.
PSST! Cougar-letter! Your bias is showing!
PS: Wanna donate to GDF's "Campaign to Send Sarah Back to Alaska" Fund?
Haha, he may have been biased, but he got his few minutes of fame tonight when Tina called him out on stage tonight and told him to "suck it." ::snicker::
