I think Tina is an amazing lady. I mean, she seems so normal for the amount of fame she has. Instead of making an ass of myself and raving about Tina for a good five minutes, I'll just say this, Congratulations Tina, Alec and the whole 30 Rock cast on your Golden Globe awards!

-Tina's biggest fan under 20 yrs of age.

ps. Tina, if you're reading this, got to tina-fey.org and check out the boards there. We all support you!

pps. Haters, you can SUCK IT!

I almost never go to the other threads. Are they substantially nastier? That's the impression I've gotten. The Oscar thread seems to be relatively civilized, and actually with the core of many smart regular posters seems much reasonably mature.

Fess up, dear. Are you now jealous that the Coen Brothers didn't say "Seanflynn, suck it!" at the Oscars last year?

Okay, I've read the Gawker posting, and that is most certainly a lot of Haterade for Tina Fey. It does appear that BabsonLacrosse was unfair collateral damage, but if dianefan/couger-letter can dish it out, he/she should get used to taking it.

Brava again to Tina Fey! You can't please everyone, but most of us think you're awesome.

"A movie is not good because it arrives at conclusions you share, or bad because it does not. A movie is not about what it is about. It is about how it is about it: about the way it considers its subject matter, and about how its real subject may be quite different from the one it seems to provide."

No.
My opinions of their work is held by so many people that there was not a chance that they'd isolate me to mention. (Talking about the wider world, not just this or other blogs).

Dear, you've really done it with that comment.

Now they're going to make another Best Picture winner in order to give you a Darren Aranofsky. nana

As for the controversy in general, it's thrilling to see evidence of the impact we make in Hollywood, though I'd rather it be evidence of the good rather than the bad. For instance, if anybody wins an Emmy, Oscar, Globe, etc. and thanks "742 for his tireless support," I could die happy.

I didn't get that she was being thin-skinned at all nor do I think she did it for an apology. I think she was being flat-out funny to the point that no matter how many awards you win, you can't please everyone. I thought it was hysterical!

There's no reason for anyone to take offense to her speech- all in good fun.

WOW! I am so glad that my sign-on name was not used in her speech. I have long said that I am grateful to live in my USA where freedoms of speech and expression are secured rights. I try to never downgrade or diss when expressing myself and offering my viewpoints, opinions here on the Envelop. I never call names or talk in a negative manner. I respect all Derbyites and the Forum moderators for their views, etc. I am passionate in my postings especially when it comes to race issues and the disparities in lack of shows and leadership of minorities in the entertainment business overall. As an interracially married white female married OVER 35 years to a Black man with bi-racial children like Barack Obama and others, my vision is different from those who may be racially restricted in their individual mindsets.

I love coming here and posting alongside ALL posters and diversity is always a part of the equation of existence on this planet called earth.

I think that celebrities should visit websites with forums to see how the public is feeling about their projects and The Envelop is a good source to find out what we, the viewers are talking about and that is all good too.

I hope that the entire cast of Will and Grace come to this site and check out what marvelous things I have to say about them. As a Will and Grace loyalist, I continue to follow ALL the cast in their individual projects, post Will and Grace. I wish to consider myself one of their stauchest allies and greatest supporter in all their endeavors, both professionally as well as personally too. I stand shoulder to shoulder with them and am so happy to see Eric, Debra, and Megan getting (or have already gotten) a new show on television and I will continue to support their shows. I am equally glad to see Sean working on new projects for his production company and have films and Damn Yankees in Summer Stars on Broadway along with guesting on 30 Rock, among others to keep him in front of a camera where he needs to be.

You go Tina. Happy to see that you come here and enjoying visiting with us!

By the way, dears, you've broken through to the print media. The New York Daily News has written story about this.

babypook, you merited a special mention. I am so proud of you!

My guess is most celebrities - were they to copy Fey - would not cite names that aren't obvious psuedonyms (mine is, but it is also a viable real name). Also someone with names like Pacinofan or Blanchett/Winslet lover (not saying either remotely qualifies) would not be used either since stars are part of their names.

I'm not too worried about the Coens being awarded anytime soon again (although I think Burn After Reading was better than NCfOM. I just wish someone else had directed their pretty funny script.)

i agree. she was probably overwhelmed and broke the tension/nerves she was feeling with a joke. i mean, she is a comedian! anyways, no one should take offense, it wouldn't help anything. besides, i'd be honored if tina mentioned my screenname. (:

All this attention for a TV show that is mediocre at best?

30 Rock is NOT a great TV show by any stretch of the imagination...but who cares what the HFPA thinks honestly.

It's a show for lazy couch potatoes! LOL

Meaning there are shows that are not for lazy couch potatoes?

Like...

"Law and Order: SVU" is a show built for the man who likes to run with his great danes.

"Samantha Who?" is a show that you can relate to more if you enjoy cycling.

"The New Adventures of Old Christine" was created to appeal to the luge enthusiast.

Your point is ridiculous. Except for sporting events and actual exercise shows all television programs are built for people who are sitting on their ass in front of a screen with or without popcorn.

I personally don't watch most of the non sense that is put in front me, just like I don't buy everything that is TRYING to be sold to me as well.

I have seen maybe 5 episodes of 30 Rock I haven't had any problem avoiding it since then.

Nothing special to me....sorry if your a big fan of the show guy.

I'm in the minority (what else is new? ;-) ) but I would've let those comments slide. Don't give 'em the time of day on national TV. Don't be the whine machine Sarah Palin continues to be, even after she got her ass handed to her in the election. It was surprising to hear that, and a little out of character for Fey.

Well guy I was just saying your point seemingly tying physical activity, or a lack of it, with a specific television show was pretty damn stupid.

Ciscokid - unlike you, Your English Teacher and I both have senses of humor.

She/he is an equal opportunity "condescendor." I had no problem with what was written.

I bow to the awesomeness of Tina Fey. Iwas thinking when I was watching the acceptance speech she was not goin to mention the forum, but I think I died of laughter, b/c it is true and I would've done the same thing. Everyone is entitled to their opinions but when you don't have a decent arguement and when you keep on posting consistent mess you get what you deserve. Go head Tina. Rock And maybe I should tone down my Grey's bashing a tad, but knowing that show is probably done when it comes to awards I may be safe from the wrath of the Rhimes.
