I mean performances by actors who were great in their roles but somehow were overlooked come award time. Sometimes these performances were nominated for a SAG or a Golden Globe, but for whatever reasons, they didn't win and/or gain momentum. I would perfer for us to list perfs that were not nominated at the Oscars.

Tim Robbins - The Shawshank Redemption
Emily Watson - Gosford Park
Jessica Lange - A Thousand Acres
Cameron Diaz - Being John Malkovich
Alfre Woodard - Passion Fish
Billy Connolly - Mrs. Brown
Pam Grier - Jackie Brown
Tang Wei - Lust Caution
Ben Kingsley - Schindler's List
Mia Farrow - September
Elaine Stritch - September
Tommy Lee Jones - Coal Miner's Daughter
Julie Delpy - Before Sunset
Mark Ruffalo - You Can Count on Me
Kathy Bates - Dolores Claiborne
Sissy Spacek - Night Mother
Glenn Close - Reversal of Fortune
Uma Thurman - Kill Bill 1 & 2

Everyone from Szabo's "Sunshine," but especially:

Ralph Fiennes
Jennifer Ehle
Rachel Weisz
Rosemary Harris

This film is a gem, I wish it had been more appreciated.
