Amanda Seyfried has confirmed that there are plans to make a Mamma Mia! sequel.
Speaking to BBC Newsbeat, the actress explained that the film is still in the early stages.
"I've been talking to some insiders and it's not something that they haven't been working on," she said. "I actually don't know anything other than that."
However, she dismissed co-star Colin Firth's claims that a sequel wouldn't involve any Abba music.
"I know it's still going to be Abba music, because what else would it be?" Seyfried said. "Come on, I wouldn't do Mamma Mia 2 without Benny and Bjorn."
The Mean Girls star added that she would like the opportunity to make a sequel as she is more experienced now.
"Maybe it would give me an opportunity to not be intimidated by Meryl [Streep] anymore," she said. "If I go back I'll probably have enough confidence in myself to not be so intimidated by anybody."
She added: "I will do it. And I know Meryl's game as well, so bring it on. It will be so cool."
This should be in The Film Casting & Development News Thread.
My website and blog are taking a little break, since Geocities is closing and I now have to upload everything to a new site, so I am working on a new design and it is gonna take me a while, hoping to get it up by Oscar Season.

I am such a big Abba fan that I bought a Swedish CD of their biggest hits - the same hit tracks we all know (in Swedish of course), then a whole bunch of songs so unspeakably awful they'd stand out even at a Eurovision contest.
They used nearly all the great ones if the first film, to no avail - do they do the bad ones this time?
Here's a suggestion: this time, splurge for a director.
It would be similar to thieves who managed to make off with half the gold at Fort Knox, decide they are geniuses, and, despite having more money than they'll ever need, decide to go back to steal the other half.
