Well we're 8 months into the Grammy eligibility period.

I thought it would be a great idea to make an Official thread to put all contenders we see fit in each category. Basically, I want to create a Master list of what the posters at GoldDerby believe have a chance at nominations. Please post all the artists and songs you believe will have a shot at nomination this year in each specific category.

I believe this master list will help us out when the Fall rolls around with our predictions.

If your not sure about nominees in some of these categories. Don't worry about it. Just list nominees in categories which you are familiar with.

Once you give you input I'll update and edit my main post to add all the nominee contenders.

Thanks for everyones help with this!!!

This post is going to be a continuously updated throughout the year.

Think Vampire Weekend- Vampire Weekend might pop up in Alternative Album? They're getting some notoriety, and they performed on SNL.

The Raconteurs, "Consolers of the Lonely" for best rock album. (Their first was nommed).

Also "Salute Your Solution" by them for rock duo/group and probably rock song.

Death Cab for Cutie, "Narrow Stairs" for best alternative album. Gnarls Barkley too for "The Odd Couple" (Even tho the album sucks. they did win last time they were nommed).

Hot Chip, "Made In the Dark" and Hercules and Love Affair's self titled both for best electronic/dance album.

Kylie Minogue will be nommed in best dance song. "All I see" is her single right now, but I don't see it being nommed. Something else, I guess.

REM "Accelerate" for best rock album. It's getting their best reviews in ages.

Feist, "I Feel It All" for best video, maybe? It would be deserved.

How about Female Pop Vocal Performance and SOTY. Those would be well-deserved as well, though it will NEVER happen.
