Does anyone have any guesses as to where Danity Kane's album will be submitted? I'm torn between which field it might go into--pop or R&B?
Here are a few more:
Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals "Lesson Learned," Alicia Keys feat. John Mayer "Where Is The Love," John Legend feat. Corinne Bailey Rae
With Mayer's history in the pop field and the overall attitude that NARAS has towards both of these artists, I think that it's a sure bet for a nomination (if submitted).
Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway won this category back in early 1973 for their original version of "Where Is The Love," so the Legend/Bailey Rae version will probably be submitted here.
Best Female Pop Vocal Performance "Teenage Love Affair," Alicia Keys
This is a pop song, and with "Like You'll Never See Me Again" sure to do big business on the R&B side of things, "Teenage Love Affair" will probably be submitted here. IMO.
Thanks Guru. That makes sense. It would also be wise on Bad Boy's part. Place the group that's clearly more pop in all the pop categories, and the group that clearly leans more toward R&B in that field.

I was having the same problem earlier.
I put "Damaged" as Best Pop Performance By A Duo or Group with Vocals since it's more Pop/Dance.
The album however is more Poppy but it does have the R&B feel to it as well.

I highly doubt Alicia Keys is submitted into Best Female Pop Vocal.
Vampire Weekend could very well submit "A-Punk" for rock song and rock performance by a duo or group, while the album is submitted in the alternative category.
This is wishful thinking, but "Oxford Comma" is the next single, and this could be submitted for "pop performance by a duo or group."
I really hope Grammy voters don't screw them over like they did M.I.A. last year!
Speaking of M.I.A., is "paper planes" eligible this year? If so, she's in contention for a 'rap solo performance" nomination.

If it features a Rapper on there, I'd say Cont. R&B. If no rapper, then Pop Vocal. But we all know they don't have a chance at a nomination. Whereas Day 26 can submit to R&B or COnt. R&B (again....if it features a rapper).
FYC: The Dark Knight in every possible category! haha

Considering the Rick Ross and Missy Elliott features, I think I'd put Welcome to the Dollhouse in Contemporary R&B Album. That's still hard because the album leans towards pop just as much as it does R&B.
Either way, I doubt that Danity Kane or Day26 will get nominated. That's sad for Day26 because I actually think they deserve a nomination. I really hope that "Got Me Going" can land a nod in R&B Duo/Group, but it may be a long shot.
Also, I think that Day26 should be added to the Best New Artist list. If Paramore can be nominated, then Day26 can at least be listed amongst the contenders. Both groups can thank MTV for their overall breakout successes.

Ooh, I like your suggestions, but only in my Grammy dreams will love be thrown at MIA. Vampire Weekend is a possibility though. I don't see them getting any nominations for performance/song but they could land an Alt Album nomination and possibly Best New Artist, which would be cool.
They're sort of like Arcade Fire in the sense that they're an "it" indie band with indie hits, but no singles that are really making a dent in the mainstream. Arcade Fire went on to get two Alt Album nods, though nothing outside that (except Best Song for a TV show or something like that).

I agree. Look for them to pimp out Alicia in all categories possible, especially since this year seems kind of weak so far.
