Jennifer since she has alot of nominations plus the symphathy factor but Jasmine could take it, but would I prefer Jennifer. It could also go Alicia if they want to award her for being snubbed.

I'm going with Jennifer Hudson on this one. She's going to get a lot of sympathy votes going her way plus "Spotlight" is a great track and her vocals stellar.
WILL WIN: Jennifer Hudson - "Spotlight" SHOULD WIN: Keyshia Cole - "Heaven Sent"
Beyonce is not a factor in this race. I think this category will boil down to Jennifer Hudson vs. Jazmine Sullivan. Keyshia Cole could sneak in and Alicia Keys is always the favorite here. "Spotlight" is the best vocal here.
SHOULD WIN: Jennifer Hudson, "Spotlight" WILL WIN: Jennifer Hudson, "Spotlight"

I agree. I hope Jennifer takes this, sympathy aside -- it's the most deserving.

I think Keyshia Cole is definitely out. If she didn't win a BET award, despite the success of her reality show, she won't win here.
Beyonce has an advantage in this race; she has two hit singles during the voting period and an album that's selling like crack rock. The only reason Sheryl Crow won a Grammy for her remake of "Sweet Child Ol Mine" is because she had a hit single during the voting period. I'm not saying Beyonce will win, but that's something to keep in mind.
I think this race is between Jennifer Hudson, Jazmine Sullivan and Alicia Keys.
Ideally, Jazmine Sullivan should be the frontrunner since she has the most nominations. But she isn't a crossover artist. I have a feeling NARAS may treat Sullivan like Jill Scott and India.Arie in their respective debut years. Remember how Jill Scott got all those nominations her first year and still lost R&B Female to Toni Braxton? Jennifer Hudson isn't a crossover artist either, but she has her Oscar win and sympathy votes to fall back on. And it wouldn't shock me in the least to see Alicia win since there's been so much hoopla over her snubs.
I honestly can't predict a winner here yet.
I wonder if any of these nominees will perform or present. Usually, the winner here is asked to perform.
I've been calling Jazmine the frontrunner the entire time, but there are definitely some things to think about.
I'll hold off on calling this category closed or crowning a winner already. DoubleD's post is definitely something to think about.
I'm a big fan of all 5 ladies nominated. Oddly enough, I am strongly against Alicia Keys winning for "Superwoman" and I still think she robbed Fantasia last year. "Superwoman" over "Like You'll Never See Me Again"? PLEASE! Voters get 2 thumbs down for that move.
I'm only ready to kick Keyshia out of the race. Her live performances and subsequent ridicule for them will hurt her chances. And despite what some may think, Beyonce does have a small shot and I do think she would be deserving of a win.
But basically, I think any of these women would be great except Alicia.
That said, I'll analyze this race some more later.

I seriously think Beyonce would win this before Keyshia.
I just don't think Keyshia is well respected in the industry. Just a hunch.
I agree 100%.
If Keyshia Cole can't win a BET Award over Alicia or Beyonce, then there's no way in hell that she'll win a Grammy over them. The fact that they're favorites only worsens her chances, and if Beyonce's clout with voters is in question at all, this nomination for a song that's damn near 6 years old should put all disputes to rest.

Exactly.
It honestly doesn't matter how many weeks "Heaven Sent" spent at #1 on the R&B charts.
I just can't see Grammy voters picking Keyshia Cole over Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, 10x Grammy winner Beyonce, 11x Grammy winner Alicia Keys and critically lauded, BNA nominee Jazmine Sullivan.
If "Heaven Sent" were a crossover hit, then I'd be singing a different song.
I think this category is between Alicia Keys and Beyonce.
If you look at the history of this category -only really big names have been winning. The same reason Mary J. Blige won for a non-hit over Ashanti's "Foolish"(a big hit of 2002).
Jennifer Hudson might win due to sympathy.
If Beyonce wins then she will be a big factor next year. I give the edge to Alicia Keys.

Yeah, interesting category. You would assume Alicia would win but she got snubbed everywhere else...but then that could lead people to vote for her here since she did get snubbed everywhere else.
I think Jennifer will take this. It's the biggest hit of the group and she's got the sympathy vote.
Grammy FYC: Kanye West, 808s & Heartbreak; Black Eyed Peas, The E.N.D.; John Legend, Evolver; Paolo Nutini, Sunny Side Up; David Guetta, One Love; Kelly Clarkson, "Already Gone"; Jordin Sparks, "Battlefield"; Kings Of Leon, "Use Somebody"; Maxwell, "Pretty Wings"

You're so right. Most of the R&B field thread posts were about this category anyway. Now that there's a thread solely for this category, I know it's gonna be hugely popular. Tons of other category threads, and this one is already the most frequently used one.
I'm still not ready to call this category yet, but it's an insanely tight race. The only person who doesn't have a shot is Keyshia Cole. Technically, given her R&B Song nod, she has just as good a shot as the other four. But due to her competition, I doubt she has a chance at winning.
