R&B singer Ciara has slated her third album, "Fantasy Ride," for a September release via Jive. Rather than one standard CD, the music will be spread across three separately packaged discs, bundled together, each with five to six songs catering to a different theme.
The first disc is called "Groove City" and will contain sensual songs like "Promise," while the second disc is called "Crunktown" and includes tracks akin to Ciara's 2004 introductory single, "Goodies." Finally, the up-tempo "Kingdom of Dance" will showcase Ciara's house-leaning, freestyle-tinged cuts.
Producer Tricky Stewart, who crafted Rihanna's "Umbrella," is co-executive-producing the project along with Ciara. Danja is helming both "Crunktown" and "Kingdom of Dance," while "Groove City" is led by Tricky and Jasper.
An official single will drop in June, according to the label. Ciara's last album, 2006's "The Evolution," has sold 1.3 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
The artist appears in the upcoming film "Mama I Want To Sing," co-starring Lynn Whitfield and Patti LaBelle, which hits theaters in October.
Here is the preview to the first single "High Price"
"High Price" sounds like "Oh" part 2...which isn't necessarily a bad thing, considering "Oh" is Ciara's best single to date.
I think I'm feelin' it.
I'm glad Ciara, who is one of my guilty pleasures, is coming back strong. Someone needs to send that nasally, off-key praying mantis back to singing under her umbrella. Let's go CiCi!

For the first time I actually agree with you lol besides the fact that "OH" is the best single which is clearly "Promise"

Wow"High Price" sounds HOT! Im a pretty big Ciara fan and If her new album is anything like her last one,I'll be enjoying it.LOL I agree with luvanmusic that "Promise" is her best single. The Production and Vocals are Smooth and Sexy.
While Rihanna isnt a great singer she certainly sings better than Ciara.Ciara is a better dancer and is a GREAT performer.Very reminiscent of Janet Jackson and Aaliyah.
I really like this idea of a 3 disc themed album. Pretty interesting. The first single sounds like a smash. You can tell Ciara is hungry to reign supreme again with the mild commercial disappointment of "The Evolution".
I don't think Ciara: The Evolution was a mild disappointment. 1.3 million copies is pretty respectable for an artist of Ciara's calibre.
I don't know if this 3 disc theme is a good idea. Just put the best tracks (which should only be about 10-13 songs) on one disc. I do like the title. For some reason, I think it would be better if she released this album late this year or early next year.

I wonder how they will price this.
Well they should price it the same as any other CD because like you just mentioned, they could easily just put all the songs onto one disc. If they charge a premium price for this 3-CD set than her sales will take a big hit. I doubt it will be priced high though since there's only 5-6 songs on each. It's pretty much obvious she's trying to make her album much more distinctive than everyone else's to make people buy it instead of illegally downloading it. I personally think it's cool that she's going to have 3 different themed discs. It wouldn't bother me if theirs only 5-6 songs on each disc since each one caters to a different sound.

I don't think so. She's a pretty popular artist. This actually sounds like a good idea for her, because it would prove that she can stretch creatively.

here u mention bout umbrella, and poor ciara is using the same producer who produced umbrella. she is no threat to rihanna.
Just put all the songs on one cd. This is just a ploy to distract from the fact that she is another no talent.

I hope you're right musicluva, because that song is one of the worst things I've ever heard in my entire life. Her career will be O-V-E-R if she releases that.

You're sh!ttin' me, "High Price" is on point, I remember playing this in front of my ex and she was like "WTF" but she digs it now too. On the real not, the song is definitely different which why I dig it so much. Ciara has impressed me a lot lately.
