Actually, "Boom Boom Pow" isn't a bad song. It's rather catchy. I think it has a great chance of getting a ROTY nomination and a win in Best Rap Group.
The production is what makes the song. The bass on this track is ridiculous in my car..lol...But I understand where people are coming from when they make negative comments about this song. It doesn't help that this song is so overplayed and has been #1 on the Hot100 for like forever.

GET REAL! "Boom Boom Pow" is one of the worst songs in Pop Music history! It will get nowhere near the General Field but I do agree that it will win Rap Duo Or Group, unfortunatley!

I don't remember people discrediting Beyonce when her first two singles featured two popular artists. I don't even remember people discrediting Ciara until recently.
Even though Ashanti was able to get solo hits, she definitely got a big push for her features with some popular artists, too. Weren't two of the three songs that helped Ashanti break a record features? Ashanti was actually the featured artist on one of the songs. Does that take away from anything? Outside of this board, no one really cares whether an artist has hits with features. A hit is a hit.
Give credit when it's due. Sure, Keri may have gotten a push because she had popular artists featured on her songs, but who's to say that those songs wouldn't have been hits had she excluded those folks? Maybe the reason why those songs were hits was because they were actually good. Keri is still very much new. If it's a constant trend, then continue to argue.
With that being said, I hope Keri releases a solo hit to shut the naysayers and nitpickers up. It's really not that serious.
I agree with you.
However, I wouldn't say that only people on this board notice whether or not an artist continually charts hit features. Believe me, I've talked to several people who don't post here who will quickly point out when an artist constantly releases nothing but features.
I specifically pinpointed Ciara a couple years back when I first noticed that EVERY hit she had featured a rapper. (This was before "Promise" came out.)
When she has a hit without any guests, then I'll give it to her. Until then, her success is pretty much unimpressive in my eyes. And this is coming from someone who has supported her from day one and continues to do so.
I personally think her next single should be "Slow Dance." It's my favorite track on her album.

I wouldn't mind the next single being Ill Return the Favor, I think that would do well. Even though, it does have another feature I dont think any of her slow songs would chart high on the hot 100.

Some of you just like to nitpick. I don't know many people outside of this board who nitpick like that.
It's not like every song by Lil' Wayne, Kanye or Ne-Yo did well. Didn't "Prom Queen" and "Hot Revolver" flop? Sh!t, Lil' Wayne's only REAL success was with Tha Carter III.
I don't even remember "Amazing," "Welcome to Heartbreak," or "Paranoid" charting. Kanye has countless other singles that flopped.
We all know what happened to "Part of the List."
"Knock You Down" and "Turnin Me On" were hits because they were catchy songs. I still don't see how Wayne's irritating voice added anything to "Turnin Me On," and Ne-Yo's voice wasn't really needed on "Knock You Down."
Some of you read too much into things. Keri is currently hot at the moment. Sure, Kanye, Lil' Wayne and Ne-Yo may have given her a push, but she's a new artist --- she needs one. There aren't that many collabos on that album, so she will eventually release a solo song --- if she continues with this album. I'm not going to even debate this anymore. I hope she does release a solo hit, and it does well or moderately well. This seems like Ciara all over again.

I think "Boom Boom Pow"'s a great summer song, and I'm glad for its success. It will probably take the win if it goes Rap Duo/Group. I'd like to see it go into Dance Recording and compete there instead though. They could submit into Pop Group, Rap Group, and Dance Recording this year.

I don't see how you view it as nitpicking. The fact is that both of her hits have bigger artists featured who just came off of huge albums of their own.
Furthermore, I don't think anyone mentioned flopped singles. Every artist has had singles that flopped, but that's not the discussion. With the exception of "Stay," Ne-Yo has NEVER released a song from his albums that featured another artist. And most of his singles have hit rather than miss.
Kanye does have some flop singles, but he also has songs like "Jesus Walks," "Love Lockdown," "Heartless" and "Through The Wire" -- all were top 10 hits and didn't feature anyone.
That's my only point. And I don't see what's wrong with pointing this out. Up until her second album, all Ciara's hits featured rappers, and the one song she did release before her sophomore album that didn't feature anyone ("And I") flopped hard.
We'll see what happens. Last I heard, "Get Your Money Up" was supposed to be the third single.

I mentioned flopped singles because just because a bigger artist name is attached to a song doesn't mean it's a certified hit. If the song is not liked by many, then it will flop. It's that simple. Just because Lil Wayne or whoever else's name is attached to the song doesn't necessary mean that's why the song is a hit. Like I mentioned earlier, despite those artists being huge, they had material that failed to achieve. Trina isn't necessarily a huge respected female rapper, and Keyshia has a following with R&B hits. If this song takes off, then it won't necessarily be because Keyshia's or Trina's name was attached to the song. It's because the general public actually like the song. Again, some of you like to nitpick what's an impressive hit and what's not. At the end of the day, a hit is a hit, no matter whose name is attached to the song.
What I'm saying is this: people are predicting Keri's longevity. When she has a hit on her own (without any guests), then it'll be evident that she's someone to be reckoned with in the future. That's what I'm talking about.
Right now, she hasn't proven much. That's just my honest opinion. Like you, I believe that a hit is a hit -- regardless of whether or not someone is featured on it. But what I'm saying is that if it continues to happen, people will start saying that she's one of those artists who can only gain a hit if she has guests attached. That's not a good thing, and that's all that I'm saying.
Regardless of what happens, I bought Keri's album, I enjoy it, and I do like her music a lot, including both of her hit singles thus far. I'm just making an observation that I always make whenever an artist consistently has hits with other artists.

You forgot "All Falls Down" and "Stronger"...which were top 10 as well I believe. Stronger was #1.
Grammy FYC: Kanye West, 808s & Heartbreak; Black Eyed Peas, The E.N.D.; John Legend, Evolver; Paolo Nutini, Sunny Side Up; David Guetta, One Love; Kelly Clarkson, "Already Gone"; Jordin Sparks, "Battlefield"; Kings Of Leon, "Use Somebody"; Maxwell, "Pretty Wings"
If we're talking about top 10 hits, then Keri only has one with a feature. "Turnin Me On" was only a moderate hit, peaking @ #15. Excluding "The Way I Are," Keri only has one top 10 hit.

I hope Keri drops "Alienated" at some point. I suspect that all of her single choices will be the collabos though. "Change Me" is another radio hit waiting to happen.
